Same. The 80s thriller nods were, actually, chilling. When that red face appeared behind the character, I nearly walked out. lol. This and paranormal activity in theater was INSANE.
For reference; when Elise is using the gas mask, she is mimicking sleeping. When we are in deep sleep, our bodies are basically on the verge of death. We breath very slow and not as often. Elise was slowing her breathing in order to mimic sleep so she could enter the further. It does look a bit odd, but the attention to detail is superb!
This was one of the first movie dates my husband and I had, the screaming in the theater for every jump scare was amazing. We basically ran to the damn car afterwards because no demon was gonna snatch me in the parking lot 😂
Any time I see that monster from the thumb nail, I always imagine that Darth Maul from Star Wars has fallen on tough times and needs to find roles in other movies so he decided to get a part in a horror movie.

My younger brother used to have night terrors growing up. It was so scary and heartbreaking to witness. He would walk/run around the house crying hysterically, saying mommy. He eventually grew out of them! It broke my heart seeing him like that 😢

I love this movie. Every sequel is worth watching in this franchise and the fifth one comes out this year and Dalton looks so grown up. I LITERALLY just saw the Dalton actor in The Whale and he did a great job.
My two favorite parts... "ah! oh!, oh my god!" at the demon being behind the curtain in the baby's room... and "this is my f*cking jam" when the tulip song came on! *literally laughing out loud* LOVE IT
You are like the only channel that I've seen other than one notice the jigsaw reference which is insane because it's one of leigh wanell and James wan most famous projects together. They also made this franchise as you more than likely know. Leigh wanell also stars in this movie as specs, also the score is written by Joseph Bashira and he also plays the red faced demon

I hate to break it to you guys, but I had literally a ton of things shoved under my bed, including a closed container and several books and stuffed animals, and I still had something grab my ankle as a joke in the middle of the night while I was talking to my best close friend 🤣😭☠️ Even knowing now, in hindsight, that it was meant in jest does nothing for it the absolute fear I felt in having it be similar to that bed scene from the Grude. It suuuuuuuuucked in the moment lmaoooo

Seriously, watch the entire movie and that one detail will ruin it for you, 'cause you'll just be thinking, "bruh! flip the damn light switch on to make sure it ain't some creepy old dude in a monster mask like in Scooby Doo..." That was almost likterally my thought process throughout the entire movie Sinister. "Bruh, will you please turn on a light switch? How 'bout this time? Now? How 'bout now? Still no? Bruh, how dumb are you? FLIP ON A LIGHT SWITCH!!" ;)

Just found your channel! 👋 When the demon crawled along the wall chasing Dalton and Cody said "Our dog going for dinner", it reminded me of the first time I saw this movie, which was in theaters. I was NOT a horror fan back then and was fighting for my life the whole time, hiding behind my jacket and missing 90% of the plot. After the Further scene, I was in tears and my friend asked if I wanted to leave. I said no, but was still clearly not enjoying myself. When the demon crawled along the wall, my friend went "It's Pogo!" (I had a Boston terrier/Chihuahua mix of that name at the time who was known to be a little psychotic). This is the first time since then that I've heard someone make a joke about their dog at that part! 🤣(RIP Pogo, my little demon) ❤

The lights were turned off and my younger brothers, my mom, him and I were sat and scared for our fucking lives. I remember clutching a pillow tensed up in fear as the grandma recalls her dream, and as the crackling noise started on the screen, I screamed bloody murder and scared my family into hysterics as the Lipstick Demon bared itself behind Patrick Wilson. 💀👹 Fun times…but thankfully I’m a horror fanatic now 😂 keep up the good work and love y’all! Not sure if y’all take recommendations, but I INSIST y’all do either: 1) Suspiria 2018 (slow burn from Luca Guadagnino à la Hereditary) or 2) Noroi (chilling af Japanese found footage film) or 3) Hellraiser 2022 (bomb ass reboot!)
Insidious 2 is worth checking out if you want more of the lore for this universe. It’s a direct sequel and tied up some of the loose ends from this film in a really unique way. I really enjoyed watching the first half of it; however, I do think it is ruined by the “twist.” Which I won’t spoil, but I thought it was a gross, outdated, and frankly problematic trope. But if you want cool lore and to have a blast for the first hour, I’d recommend continuing the series!
