- MonoDirector is a Brand New Bonelab Mod Created By @adamdevyt AKA As "Not Enough Photons" It has been in Development for quite some time and only been accessible to a select few of people, including me! The Mod is finally out for everyone now. And it includes a Bunch of useful tools you can use to create some awesome Cinematics. Today my goal is to help teach you how use the most important aspects of MonoDirector, Like Creating Actors, Using the Propifier and Using Different Types of Cameras.

Few questions to anyone willing to help, does the Quest version's propifier not have the icons above them or any icon like the recording? Also remove scene and cast list doesn't work well for me. Regardless, amazing mod (Just gotta be careful, as of now) and I can't wait for the future of it!

hey this video is really cool and helped a lot i just had one question i play on the pcvr Meta quest link app and the gimbal cam does not display what it is seeing on my monitor and i cant find a fix
This is a great vid, it really did help me make my first couple small films. So I use PCVR for making these films, and when I try to apply the free fly or handheld camera in the monodirector settings, nothing changes, and it is still my POV on the monitor, is there an easy fix for this? Also, when I attempt to clear all actors, the buttons freezes and doesn't do it's intended purpose, same with the clear scene button.
Hey wig great tutorial. Im having an issue with the handheld cam. For some reason the gimble camera lens is clipping into the handheld pov. If you have any tips for this i would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks for watching! The gimbal cam sometimes has an issue where you need to swap the camera angles back and forth onto it to make it display correctly

Im guessing you are on quest standalone? If so they cannot work on that platform, but if you are on PCVR then something mightve bugged or gone wrong with installation possibly.
Why does my monitor still show my normal head footage and not the gimbal camera footage?
I’ve been really curious on what “camera nodes” do. Do they not work right now, or do they have a purpose?
0:55 I'm not getting any of those 3 camera options of XYZ and my camera isn't working like in the video. I got all the required mods, but I'm not sure if I installed mono director correctly. What did you do to properly install the mono director?

New question, and maybe I missed it, but when I switch to the handheld or freecam options my spectator does not show them. Do you know how to fix that? (It shows the camera in the spectator just like it does at 1:24 but with only one gimbal cam spawned

soo, when ever I try to switch to free cam or hand held cam, nothing happens. like, I see the screen on the gimbal cam but my monitor is still showing my face view. same with the free cam except when I change it to it nothing happens at all. I have tried re-installing and installing it in different ways and nothing works. if you have any suggestions that would be great! Also, great video!

Nope, you need to be playing on a PCVR Copy of the game. Standalone will not work with stuff like camera angles at all

Hi, the mod is awesome tho I'm having some issues with the recording. It's all working all fine but for some reason there is no countdown whatsoever when I hit record and it immediately starts recording without any headsup or even sound effects. Do you know a solution to that or did I install something wrong?

im having a pretty big problem, after i record some people then clear them, the entire mod stops working and i need to restart the level. its really annoying and i cant fix it.
The mod doesn't work for me and I don't know why. I installed both the items and the code mods (from Thunderstore) and when I try to use the propifier it just does not prop things. Is this a glitch?
how do i kill past recordings? like make them go ragdoll?
You have to act it out. You cant change what they do after being recorded meaning you have to time a ragdoll on time with something like a gunshot
Great tutorial, this helped me a whole lot with experimentation but I have a problem. for me, whenever I go to record a clone of myself, it doesn't show the timer that shows in your video. idk if this is because I downloaded it wrong but either way everything works out fine. just wondering if someone has a solution for it.
Pretty sure somewhere in settings you can set the timer length. Maybe yours is set to 0?
@@WigwamVR For some reason AudioImportLib isn't working because on the code loader for melon loader it says [AudioImportLib] "[ERROR] A mod is asking to load "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\BONELAB\UserData\Not Enough Photons\MonoDirector\SFX/preroll.wav" which does not exist!"

hey wigwam i have a question how can i fix the bug i have were i cant delete the actors forcing me to restart the map if i want a clean state i use PCVR
you have to use version 1.0.0 because an update broke it or something
This is a bug that im not sure has a fix yet. Download the latest version if you havent already, should hopefully fix it

Hey, how do I get the propifier, I put it into the files but I can’t spawn them.
Make sure your spawnables folder for monodirector is in your Mod.io mod tragectory and then same with the code version

When you take out the gun to connect actors with objects so that they can move them, that's actually how it is for me. If I then delete the objects or the actors to start a new scene, the mono director no longer works. That means I have to restart the game. The recording function no longer works. The playback no longer works. Nothing works anymore. Is there a reason for this or have I installed something wrong, I don't know? Can you help me?
my problem is as follows. I have this additional tool for clicking on objects so that the actor can act on them. If I now want to delete, say, this object from the animation that I then play, I can no longer make new recordings. I then have to restart the whole game so that it works again. i.e. if I have a character that I let shoot with a weapon, and I tell myself I now delete the character and also the weapon because I want to make a new scene. That doesn't even work because if I delete the objects with this new tool so that they don't keep appearing in the new image, nothing works anymore. I hope you know what I mean.. it could be possible that the full body tracking mod that I used to make this mistake… because if I don’t use it, I can use this clear the scene option often before it crashed.
Thanks for the comment! Im happy i could help, this seems to be a large problem with MonoDirector itself right now. It has been happening to me. The only advice i can give you right now is that instead of reloading the game you can simply reload the map, still very annoying but it will hopefully get fixed an ill adress the issue to the creator.

How'd you get the actors? I installed it but knowing myself I probably did something wrong 😂
You have to record them through playback, if that didnt work then it might be an installlation issue

Clones work on Quest i dont quite know everything that does or dosent. But i do know camera modes cant work on Standalone

There isn't a workaround I don't think, you might have to find another way of modding till they fix it

seeing as you're much more cool and popular than me, is there a way you can ask for just the actors to be added to a separate mod so us lazy people don't have to do real work to set up the mod?
You would still have to do the exact same amount of setup for just the actors

Ikr, it’s a shame this stuff doesn’t work on standalone. It makes me jealous all the time cuz I don’t have the money for a stable pc, it sucks and I hate it. Is what it is tho sadly, I want to make bonelab movies so bad but not being able to use most camera mods or fusion. It’s basically impossible cuz without an outside camera it looks horrible.

same, i used to have code mods on q2 around v62, but i bought a q3 that had v63 on it and I CANT FUCKING MOD ANYMORE
Alright i figured out a temporary fix while they add access to these folders again in v65. Go to sidequest, headset settings, and enable bonelab mods. Each mod will be put in the external mods section
So wigwam i have this glitch where once im done recording and i press play the entire game crashes? :edit wigwam pls pin this, don't download the obs monodirector intergration that's what will make your game crash after pressing play
