My son bought one and we shot the heck out of it with all types of ammo. That was a couple of months ago. I then bought one out of jealousy. I’m sorry to say but mine failed so many times the first time we went to the range I was ready to chuck it in the bin. I tried all types of ammo, nothing under 1200fps. Fail to chamber, fail to eject. I have never sent a gun back before, and I’ve had quite a few, but this one went back a couple of days later. The Kel Tec service folks were very accommodating and I am now hoping to get it back soon. The other one my son has keeps on eating ammo with no problems.

I have had the same problem. This jam-o-matic doesn't like any ammo.

      Made in China junk....
I'm just kidding I know it's not made in China...
It's just fun saying that 😅

I carry mine everywhere and everyday. I tend to have federal punch in mine. Very reliable and they shoot above their price range accuracy wise.cheers.

Punch and CCI Stinger are best choice.

I agree with all that he said, but he did leave one thing out! For anyone that wants to have a pistol but they have trouble gripping or chambering a pistol, this one is the easiest one by far from all others that we've tried. For chambering is an issue for some, to especially include the more mature, that want a dependable gun that they can easily chamber. Kel-tec also has the red dot already mounted on a special slide, which is a very good way to go if seeing is becoming an issue! We have other somewhat nicer guns that we like but these P17's are indeed our go to, fun gun! Fact!!

These were available at a local retailer for $179 just a couple weeks ago. I waited and then 'poof', they were all gone. So now I'm waiting again and will definitely snag one when available. I have a Walther P22 that I love and based on reviews and what you actually get, the Kel Tec sounds like a bargain. Plinking is fun.

I've read the pros and cons of this pistol, but decided to buy one anyway. I did notice it comes in many colors and different price with each color. In my area, the black one goes for $249. while the green one goes for $212 (the one I bought). I never cared for Kel-tec, but I NEVER dogged them either, they're different. First thing I'm gonna do is break it down and give it a good cleaning, the oil it up. I need this gun like I need a hole in my head, but for the price, I couldn't refuse buying it. I've got several 22 wheel guns and one "old" STAR 22 auto. Some people love this gun and some hate it, some even compare it a high end gun, but all n all, it's just a cheaply priced 22.
I've learned over the years, "CHEAP" doesn't always mean "JUNK". Plus Kel-tec has a lifetime warranty, like Phoenix Arms and Hi-point, while is another seller for me.

The P17 is one of those guns that when you first look at it, you wonder if you should have bought something else.
Then you spend a little time getting to know it, and you realize it's a keeper.

I own 2 of the P17 and all I can say is that they are not the prettiest, but they are a lot better than some of well known brands, also the price for them are 120dlls the black one and 150dlls the color ones, black friday they were 99dlls and I regret not getting 1-2 more because they are hard to find here in Iowa... GREAT VIDEO

Make an owb holster that fits the KelTec optic slide with the suppresor sight height in the front.
An optional paddle would be a nice touch.

I just got one for $199. It will be a couple of weeks before I can get to the range as I am in the middle of a major house project.
I have been out of shooting for awhile so I got it to ease my way back in to the water.
I have an IWB holster on the way but I noticed that it rides really nicely in the front pocket of my slacks. Hmmm. Wonder if anyone makes a pocket holster for it.
