Surely Auscision et al should realise by now that they need to change their pre order system. I certainly would have pre ordered a number of models if the system had been better. Australian Modeller offer Afterpay so why can't Auscision? Keep up the good work Will!

Will, yes the concept of purchase pre order is a very good idea. I purchased the NSWGR 45'; GLX vans this way. Your videos are great and well done. I would to see the SAR Bluebird railcars made RTR with crew car options as they are still running today, albeit as trailers.

@@railtrolley I don’t run DCC so it’s not an issue for me, but I’ve seen people who’ve fitted the steam era models ones with DCC sound so it’s certainly possible
@@vandenbricks I'm still on DC too. A couple of ancient H&M controllers. The RT is a very small enclosure, but then they do manage to fit sound and lights to flat objects like mobile phones, so I agree it could be done with todays electronics. A keep alive for the very short wheelbase would help with crossing long points frogs, or any other potential dead spot in the track. I wonder if there are caps small enough?
Bought your VR Hat. Fantastic! I agree that Australian Rail Model websites are antiquated. In this day and age, it is simple to have an instant ordering online system. I also don't bother with the printout and post option. I take my chances when they appear in a store. I buy everything else online, Heck I also have an N Scale Japanese layout predominately Shinkansens. I can order online from a Japanese retailer and have them door to door within 5 days via DHL. Amazing service.

Will, like your work. In a future episode, I'd like to see you canvas a discussion about RTR HO NSW 57/58 class models. Unless I am deeply mistaken, these models would be a licence to print money for an importer. Another subject I would like to see discussed is for high quality models to be made in India, vis-a-vis uncertainty about China's future relations with western countries. India's manufacturing standards are on the up, their latest cars and motorcycles are high quality.

What I want from an Australian model rail manufacturer is for someone to produce a RTR version of the VR 153 HP Walker railmotor. Trainbuilder did one but hard to find and expensive.
Having purchased an AUSTRAINS NEO twin BPL set at the end of 2020, beIng too late to get the set with a BCPL. I was interested in obtaining a BCPL as a single unit and did send an email to this effect to the supplier when they indicated more stock would arrive in 2021. There was no reply and, again, the BCPL is only in twin sets. A bit disappointing as I only want to run small branch line consists, with the long awaited K. Perhaps your comments page has more “clout” with the supplier. Well done on your excellent presentations.

Those are some Good looking Diesel locomotives, but at nearly $300.00 they better be nice engines, Never seen any Aussie loco's for sale in the US except for a Lima model from some time ago. Those Coaches and steam locomotives would not look out of place on a 1900's-1940's american layout!
Hello Raymond! I mean $300 comes in at the well priced end! Smaller market than the US and UK scenes, also shipping seems to factor quite highly into the price! From what I've been told from my US watchers, most if not all seem to order from stores here and have them shipped out to them. Not wrong there, we had some US built Pullman stock out here as well, so there is certainly some US influence!
Rather concerned with SDS only using printed order forms. Did not get a confirmation of the order. Had to phone, but still no receipt or confirmation of pre delivery. Not sure what's happening.

I would like to see Auscision N Class rerun for Overland Cars ,harris cars {plastic) Norman car (plastic} rail tractor and I think a 50% deposit like Trainworld has done for the T Class is a great idea ,as you have time to plan for the the full payment. But there are plenty of good models already coming out BL/G Class ,C Class, Overland cars ,Clp/Clf's ,T class the Derms ,So plenty to spend money on already.Cheers John.

Same model releases has been going on for decades now. In 1990, 2 manufacturers released at the same time, 2nd and 3rd series VR T class diesel locos, in brass.
What better than the model railway news to cure the new years hangover 😆 Had a really bad experience pre ordering a 930 through Bob's models and hobbies last year. They sent me the wrong model, and when I returned it they never sent me a replacement. They acted happy to help at first but became extremely unhelpful and untrustworthy. after over 5 months of dealing with these professional time wasters, I'm still waiting for my refund. exercise caution with this mob

Im the same way, i dont pre order a single thing, its like where in the stone ages of interrnet. Auscion want full payment upfront. Yea nah lol, If they made it click buy and even with afterpay as a available funding i reckon they would Get a lot more pre orders. I know i would being doing it and getting in trouble with the wife :D
According to Auscision, Afterpay's terms specifically don't allow preorders. I do wish companies would do preorders better though. I sent a form off to SDS in November and it's radio silence since. I did a separate preorder with Little Train Shop in Tassie, they had an awesome website cart system, took the payment and have sent updates since. A few other companies could learn a lot from that.
I mean i know they can't use after pay for preorders but i mean there are other ways around it, like how Trainworld are currently doing 50% deposits on the upcoming SDS T class'. I'm glad I'm not alone in just all together not bothering with preorders because of the system!

AfterPay does not allow its service to be used on preorders.
u still need to print off and fax those sheets for preorders dont you with ur card details written on. agree process puts me off

Big challenge would be fitting DCC with sound.

Shame N scale never rates a thought from the manufacturers - not everyone has the room for a HO layout. At least there is UK or US outline.

Hi Will.I like your updates .I notice you had a little rant at the end about a simple click and order system.This is never going to happen ( Your to old you wouldn't understand ) I only just hear you say .So whats so wrong with writing your order on a small piece of paper and attaching it to a pigeons leg.And hoping for the best ! The first and second world war was won with this sort of stuff.Thanks Rohan

Im the same way, i dont pre order a single thing, its like where in the stone ages of interrnet. Auscion want full payment upfront. Yea nah lol, If they made it click buy and even with afterpay as a available funding i reckon they would Get a lot more pre orders. I know i would being doing it and getting in trouble with the wife :D
According to Auscision, Afterpay's terms specifically don't allow preorders.
I do wish companies would do preorders better though. I sent a form off to SDS in November and it's radio silence since.
I did a separate preorder with Little Train Shop in Tassie, they had an awesome website cart system, took the payment and have sent updates since. A few other companies could learn a lot from that.
@@leonkernan I had the same experience with an SDS pre order , I did eventually get confirmation of order receipt , it took a couple of months though.
Agree - the preporder system needs a refresh plus automatic refunds of deposits is the model is delayed!
I mean i know they can't use after pay for preorders but i mean there are other ways around it, like how Trainworld are currently doing 50% deposits on the upcoming SDS T class'. I'm glad I'm not alone in just all together not bothering with preorders because of the system!
