Listen to the EXTREME 4 while it’s plugged in & you probably won’t feel this way. In battery mode it’s putting out 70 watts. In A/C mode it’s putting out 100 watts.😊
I own the Boom2 & the EXTREME 3. I’ve watched comparison videos between both & it somewhat isn’t a fair comparison. The EXTREME 3 will leave you wanting more in battery mode, only putting out 60 watts. Once you plug it in, you’re getting 100 watts. While it’s plugged in, the EXTREME 3 sounds much better than the Boom2 even at max volume. I have trouble recommending the Boom2 to anyone because it just really doesn’t sound all that good. It lacks midrange detail & clarity for outdoor use. To me it just comes off as a kid speaker.

Out of all my big new expensive speakers i always enjoyed the sound signature and clarity of my 10 year old original sound core $25 dollar speaker. Did not disappoint. Sound core is powerful crispy highs and super clarity👌 for when i need a break from my muffled boomy jbls.
@@PRODS7V7N It does have a low bass with the correct EQ setting, but this speaker has more of a mid bass or that thumping bass that sounds crisp, but due to the size and layout of the speaker low bass is not as strong as something like Boom 2 Plus or JBL Boombox 3/4.

bro ,quick question about the volume control. I have the first boom and there is quite irritating situation , somewhere around 30% the volume increments act weird , so at one point the volume jumps up , for example when you go from level 3 it goes to level 5 and this is very irritating because you listen music or little to soft or to high. do you experience something similar with the boom2?
I have both and i prefer the JBL over soundcore being muffled sounding at times. Just my opinion, music is not all about bass, quality comes with the right balance, clarity and crisp. If youre looking for bass focused unit, as mentioned on the review, go for soundcore otherwise take JBL for more natural sounding device. Again this is just my opinion.

Current owner of JBL Flip6 less than year old with a broken/blown subwoofer. Only played Spotify through cell phone. That alone has me on the hunt for a different brand. Hope this helps someone else considering a purchase.

All I can say is that you do lose a certain amount of midrange separation when using outdoors. It performs much better indoors. This is due to the fact that the midrange is produced only by the single racetrack woofer located in the center of the speaker. As opposed to a traditional setup consisting of 2 drivers & 2 tweeters. It all depends on your use case. Indoor or outdoor listening, or both. If you plan on using it in both environments, you might want to reconsider getting the EXTREME 4. For indoor use, the Boom2 should do just fine.

It all depends on how it’s going to be used & how far it’s going to be carried. The Boom 2 is considerably smaller than the Boom 2 Plus, & I’d like to think it ‘s considerably lighter than the Boom 2 Plus.

If you’re going to buy or already own one, stay away from the bass boost, it muddies up the mids highs.
Xtreme 4 is the more powerful speaker and has the advantage either way. I'm just leveling the field by comparing their max output when using battery power. Bass up or not, i don't think you need science to spot the differences... Heavier bass with less clarity vs higher volume, more balance, & more clarity.
Yeah, I prefer to boom too from soundcore I own two of them got them on sale on prime day for $95 apiece which is awesome. I don’t really care about huge ugly looking speakers like that. JB be honest I like to carry my speaker and who the heck was to carry the huge thing around, it’s just too big and barking ugly to be honest even if it performance better in that case you’re better off getting the core boom to which is 100 W with base of 2.0 I’m just saying I don’t like big speakers of space and the boom sounds amazing. I’ll put it on my living room in the middle and you can hear all the way in the kitchen. I never really like JBL speakers i listened to them and they don't appeal to me soundwise they are muddy and highs and lows are not balance regardless how big jbl spekers are. You pay for the brand name not the sound quality on the other hand soundcore has a very balanced signature sounds like bose signature in a way that you can enjoy the music.
Yes. All speaker brands have their own sound style. My fav for personal listening is anker. The powerful and crispy highs👌. Reminds me of klipsch sound just slightly less quality but way more affordable… JBL is the king for parties though. Those muddy mid bass is what keeps the party shaking and house vibrating👍.
JBL Xtreme 4 have anather class sound, don't compare them because the price. Punchy bass make it thinks different you know? I got JBL Xtreme 4 & I was comparing that to ather speakers & when they was have a lack of punchy bass, for me they was put of focus. Marshal speakers are good but lack of that punchy think...you listen this like some sort of radio speaker...fk that bro. You need a powerful bass to crank it up a party!

Does soundcore have an app? You can EDIT the EQ on the JBL on your phone.

You don't have to listen to the boom 2 with bass on & you can eq it to your desired sound. Better have the bass for when you need it than not.

The best feature of the JBL is the removable battery, which reminds me of when we used to change batteries on our phones.

I’ll put it on my living room in the middle and you can hear all the way in the kitchen. You can hear it outside With the button and it rattles like I can feel the base on the second floor house so knows what they’re doing. I’ve been forever the JBL flip five JBL flip three JBL flip six but soundcore for the same price of the JBL flip six the boom to definitely a better speaker.

I never really like JBL speakers i listened to them and they don't appeal to me soundwise they are muddy and highs and lows are not balance regardless how big jbl spekers are. You pay for the brand name not the sound quality on the other hand soundcore has a very balanced signature sounds like bose signature in a way that you can enjoy the music.
Yes. All speaker brands have their own sound style. My fav for personal listening is anker. The powerful and crispy highs👌. Reminds me of klipsch sound just slightly less quality but way more affordable… JBL is the king for parties though. Those muddy mid bass is what keeps the party shaking and house vibrating👍.

I got JBL Xtreme 4 & I was comparing that to ather speakers & when they was have a lack of punchy bass, for me they was put of focus.
Marshal speakers are good but lack of that punchy think...you listen this like some sort of radio speaker...fk that bro.
