McKenna is my favorite in quite a number of seasons. My previous favorites have included Laci Kay Booth and Haley Reinhart. This was such tear jerker. You should check out Zachery Williams and Dolly Parton watching her audition. I have a feeling that I am going to enjoy watching your reactions in the future.

Wow... you are the only other person I've ever run across to say the same things I've been screaming for 5 years lol. I never watched Idol before, but my mom loves it and one night while visiting her, Idol was on. I went to go get a drink and I heard Lacy Kaye Booth singing "I want you to want me," and I high tailed it back to the living room and said to my mom, "DAMN... that girls voice is unreal... so different... I love it." I've been watching Idol since lol. Laci gave me all the feels each time she sang... nobody can really do that for me, but she did. The following seasons I had a favorite I wanted to win, but there was nobody that came close to matching the excitement I had over Laci. Then McKenna happened and now I've got 2 amazing voices to listen to. I couldn't pick between them... love them both. I appreciate that u share the same excitement about them both as well... it tells me ur a person with actual substance lol if that makes sense. Some people play checkers, while others play chess 😊
I didn't start watching Idol until 2019, but I always hear alot of people mentioning Haley.

I'll always prefer the more unique voices.

Glad you mentioned your concerns. I think she's beautiful, talented, etc but I'm very concerned that the breathiness/rasp isn't under control at all - it seems constant, and even when she's speaking. Red flag!

Mckenna's mother suffered with lupus and in 2013 she was diagnosed with a blood infection that took her life. The following day, her husband, Mckenna's father, commited suicide.
Musician friends of the couple started playing annual benefits to raise funds for a lupus charity... I do not know if they continue so to do, but if they do, I am sure Mckenna will now be joining them.
