The four forms (vitamers) of B12 are all deeply red colored crystals and water solutions, due to the color of the cobalt-corrin complex. Cyanocobalamin is one such form, i.e. "vitamer", of B12 because it can be metabolized in the body to an active coenzyme form.

Hi Dusty and Erin. Hope you guys are well. Y'all look great and congratulations on baby #2. I went on your first retreat to Costa Rica. I'm still working on diet and lifestyle changes. Dusty, did you completely resolve your acid reflux with wfpb diet? I'm struggling with this.
I would love to see a video combining a haul and what we eat in a week to see how it is utilized. When I shop clean, I end up wasting so much of what I get.
Check out Jordan Page's Shelf Cooking youtube video. If you plan your meals for the week based on food you already own then go shopping for a few missing ingredients 1) Your shopping bill will decrease and 2) you will waste less food bc everything has a plan to be used that week.
So funny that some meat-eaters all of a sudden become professional nutritionists when they hear you’re vegan, as if those choosing a plant-based diet didn’t do their own research first, aren’t watching videos like yours or educating themselves in other ways. I’m no longer strictly vegan, but when I initially went back to eating meat and a little dairy, I fell right back into old patterns and habits and gained weight, felt sluggish all the time and all around just stopped paying attention to what I was putting in my body. Getting back to mostly a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle, not because I don’t ever want to eat meat again (trying to follow the philosophy of Intuitive Eating), but when I don’t have the quick filling protein that is meat in my meal, I’m much more intentional about what I’m including because I want to feel full and satisfied. Plant-based lifestyles are so much more focused on intentionality of health, it just kills me when those who’ve never tried it (minus the gym rats who count their macros and do pay close attention to their health) suddenly think they’re experts lol
I really enjoy these food haul videos! Would love to see a Costco haul!! Do you shop at Costco..? They have certainly stepped up their organic and vegan friendly game in recent years, at least here in California. It's nice to see! Happy Mother's Day Erin!! =)
@EATMOVEREST, WOW! This was video was amazing. It gave me so information I had no idea about. I knew I was low in vitamins. But you spelled it all out in a way I can understand it. By the way, could you do a video related to this one that shows exactly what you eat in a day that has all these ingredients included??? So I can get an idea of how to eat better. Been going Vegan/plant base for 4 months now. But losing muscle mass and bone strength, a problem.
Most of our nuts are imported in mid- western climates, and I love Brazil nuts, almonds, pistachios etc... Pecans can come from Georgia and some things grow in the country and neighboring country. However this can make it more expensive and I would really like to know what tree and various varieties of nuts can be found, and purchased locally.I've heard of beech nuts being edible (not sure if we have them around near us),acorn soup although a little bitter according to what I've read.Would really appreciate suggestions for non-tropical/desert/mountain nuts to enjoy adding to the plant base repertoire,as well as what to request at farmer's markets that have possible availability.Thx.Enjoying your channel,God bless 😊💓

Hi guys! Just started watching your channel. Thank you for this video. I have slowly been switching my diet to mostly plant based. I am currently pregnant with my first baby. I was wondering about your comments on soy products. I've avoided most soy products for a long time because of the bad things I've heard over the years. Can you give me suggestions on where to do further research to prove those wrong? I would love that. Thank you!
Absolutely! :) Please visit NutritionFacts.org ForksOverKnives.com and PlantBasedJuniors.com and get their brand new book! There is a wealth of science-backed information out there to prove that organic soy is safe and nutritious! :)
I appreciate how you go in depth about all the nutrients found in whole foods vs. supplementation. I am not a proponent of a vegan diet, however I do believe in whole food sources of all necessary nutrients and had two questions. First, I understand it is very possible to get a good amount of protein from WFPB sources however I have read and heard that Leucine is a crucial amino acid that is usually lacking in WFPB protein sources, Leucine supposedly triggers muscle protein synthesis. Do you mix corn with your protein sources to ensure you're getting the right amino acid profile for optimal muscle protein synthesis? Secondly I noticed you mentioned vitamin supplementation along with going out in the sun and wondered if you also supplement with mushrooms, specifically those that have been left out in the sun prior to being picked and packaged?
It's not something you necessarily have to eat every single day. Check the back of the bag! You can also buy seaweed snacks for kids! They tend to love them!
