The four forms (vitamers) of B12 are all deeply red colored crystals and water solutions, due to the color of the cobalt-corrin complex. Cyanocobalamin is one such form, i.e. "vitamer", of B12 because it can be metabolized in the body to an active coenzyme form.

Ordering fresh through my app is not always successful or productive but I do order the mainstays this way. I also order frozen "stir fry" blends and frozen fruit through my online app. I do shop in store sometimes but I'm still cautious in this covid time, even though I'm fully vaccinated. I'm trying to get and stay healthy in all ways. Thanks for your video. It is helpful to hear information in a new, colorful way. Love all of your veggies and fruits.

So funny that some meat-eaters all of a sudden become professional nutritionists when they hear you’re vegan, as if those choosing a plant-based diet didn’t do their own research first, aren’t watching videos like yours or educating themselves in other ways. I’m no longer strictly vegan, but when I initially went back to eating meat and a little dairy, I fell right back into old patterns and habits and gained weight, felt sluggish all the time and all around just stopped paying attention to what I was putting in my body. Getting back to mostly a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle, not because I don’t ever want to eat meat again (trying to follow the philosophy of Intuitive Eating), but when I don’t have the quick filling protein that is meat in my meal, I’m much more intentional about what I’m including because I want to feel full and satisfied. Plant-based lifestyles are so much more focused on intentionality of health, it just kills me when those who’ve never tried it (minus the gym rats who count their macros and do pay close attention to their health) suddenly think they’re experts lol

Most of our nuts are imported in mid- western climates, and I love Brazil nuts, almonds, pistachios etc... Pecans can come from Georgia and some things grow in the country and neighboring country. However this can make it more expensive and I would really like to know what tree and various varieties of nuts can be found, and purchased locally.I've heard of beech nuts being edible (not sure if we have them around near us),acorn soup although a little bitter according to what I've read.Would really appreciate suggestions for non-tropical/desert/mountain nuts to enjoy adding to the plant base repertoire,as well as what to request at farmer's markets that have possible availability.Thx.Enjoying your channel,God bless 😊💓

I appreciate how you go in depth about all the nutrients found in whole foods vs. supplementation. I am not a proponent of a vegan diet, however I do believe in whole food sources of all necessary nutrients and had two questions. First, I understand it is very possible to get a good amount of protein from WFPB sources however I have read and heard that Leucine is a crucial amino acid that is usually lacking in WFPB protein sources, Leucine supposedly triggers muscle protein synthesis. Do you mix corn with your protein sources to ensure you're getting the right amino acid profile for optimal muscle protein synthesis? Secondly I noticed you mentioned vitamin supplementation along with going out in the sun and wondered if you also supplement with mushrooms, specifically those that have been left out in the sun prior to being picked and packaged?

OMG! It can be so frustrating trying to be vegan because I'm already naturally skinny so, when people offer me food and I so "no" because i'm trying to stop eating junk, they think i'm anorexic or bulimic. Then I try to explain why, and they all of a sudden become professional nutritionist and tell me what I should eat, or what's okay to eat when I know for sure it's not. I don't look sick, and I have twice as much energy as the people that are telling me this....I wish people would just accept no for an answer because i'm tired of explaining my lifestyle choice when I know it's for my own good...and I'm a recovering junk/fast food addict so, the temptation everyday is real.

Yes, we buy all organic and try to get most of what we can at the farmer's market, our local co-op grocery and then Whole Foods for the rest!

I gave up meat over a year ago and have been doing fine until recently. I have been craving meat and I don't know why. I will eat mock meats occasionally, but they are hard on my stomach and a lot of them don't taste very good. I don't feel hungry or anything, just craving a burger with real hamburger or I want bacon with breakfast or lunch meat on my sandwich. It is frustrating, do you guys have any advice for me?

@@EatMoveRest I eat great all summer long, tons of fruits and veggies, lots of which come out of my garden, but in the winter I crave mostly carbs and sugar, especially since I suffer from Seasonal Affective Depression. I know I need to eat better, but my body just wants tots and cereal. Ugh. I am starting to feel better now and I will work on my meal planning and try to do better, thanks!

@@jenniferknowles2023 I'm vegetarian and find that keeping some boiled eggs in the fridge helps. I usually boil about a dozen and then store them in the fridge ready for when I want one.
Also, try having some more protein for breakfast. That might help

We don’t use it very often, usually just use water, but we buy a carton of low sodium organic when we do use it!
