Very helpful video. Thank you. To contribute I would suggest to cut them use a cheap plastic trimming knife. The type that the blade slides in and out of the handle. Extend the blade and slice through the gathered blind a bit like a bread knife. Very easy to get a perfect cut 👍
I only need it for the bottom half of my doors windows, so that I'm not putting on a show for the other occupants in the house. Definitely a good short term solution as I'm only renting at the moment.
Excellent video. I thought I was doing the Velcro wrong but it turns out it is just as flimsy as it seems! No other video I found could you see what they were doing with the velcro and the clips. Subscribed.
Is it super easy to cut through? I was going to get the Cellular blinds but I'm now debating getting these cuz I can cut them so tight against the window to block all light. Cellular shades I still gotta block the gaps so not sure. Do the blackout ones truly keep out the light?
Great video, but to be honest these things aren’t the best. Yes they do block out any kind of light completely, but they don’t stay for long. Mine fell off the next day after putting them up. The double sided tape stayed up on the window frame, but got unstuck from the blinds itself. It’s a cost effective option but gotta find other ways to stick it up
I need to fix these to aluminum doors as a temporary fix. Do you think its feasible to swap out the adhesive strip for a magnetic one - is there much tension in the blind when pulled down?
Hallo from Kazakhstan! Why didn't you cut it by a sharp cook's knife? 😁 I always do it by a knife and they are always perfect after that 😉👌 And thank you for the video. I've never bought black ones, now I want to. 👍
Nice explanation! I am planning to get Pleated shade to cut down the heat coming through windows. Do you think white is better in cutting down the heat? Can you please recommend?
They stick on so you need something to stick it to, could be the top of a recess like in this video, if the window is flush with the wall you could stick to the wall above the window, or even to the glass itself along the very top edge, and all the same would apply at the bottom
Great video! Just curious, what type of material is it out of. The reason why I ask is because I don’t want it to brittle under continuous direct sun. Thanks!
How do you think these will work behind actual blackout curtains? I have curtains and they let too much light in from the top and sides. I really just want to block some of that light in hope the room is much darker. Doesn't have to be pitch black just dark enough to sleep comfortably
Hello, Can I fix the blind against the wood of the window? or has definitely against the Sealing? im afraid that I can't open the window anymore. Thank you
THANK YOU!! It's weird but my currently set of blinds are like the second ones you showed near the end but the sun still creeps through super bright, any suggestions?
Are you talking about the gray ones or white vinyl shades with the sun peaking through? I'm tempted to get the blackout paper blinds cuz they are so cheap & you can cut them so close to the window no light comes in but do they really stop all the light is what I'm trying to figure out lol. Ikea has pretty cheap Cellular blinds but then I gotta get light gap blockers or keep my blackout curtains on each side of the window.
@@DoitDoit yes I figured it out last night. The clips has to hold the blind all the way to the back. But I didn’t know how to use them properly. That’s why I made my comment. Like I say figured it out last night. Thanks again.
Hi and thanks for your video so useful, Can I ask the name of the other white one that you showed at the end cause I changed my mind and I want to use that white one. thanks
Could i extend it to 54" inch Wide by buying another one (2)? Since it doesn't weigh much, and i could buy 3M double side tape. Thanks for the video instruction
Asking because i bought the exact same ones myself, also is it possible to glue them into the window itself instead, in order to reduce the chance of them falling off?
I have improved the blinds by drilling holes and adding cord with Spring clamps. This way you can easily adjust them to your desired height ... I found the clips near useless
Wait a minute that black plasticy material is what's visible from the outside? Omg that's hideous! I thought they were the same grey paper material on both sides ..the ikea website doesn't show that I don't know what I'm going to do now I can't have that horrible shiny black on the window side it will look like a bin bag hanging from my windows from the outside Do you think I could hang them the other way round so that the grey paper side is facing out? Would I be able to hang them all the same? I'm not really bothered about the appearance of them from the inside as it's a room I don't use. ..thank you so much for this super helpful video! ..I know exactly what to expect when I order them now
@@DoitDoit so i bue 4 of thjs today i usw it vor very sunny room .After i afternoon my windows are really hot, near the window is also hot . I think is necouse of the black color in the other site .i dont knowwhat to think
3:49 The dark side should face in, the lighter side facing out. This helps keep the shade from absorbing the the sun's heat (just like a white car is cooler than a black car on a sunny day). The windows also look nicer from the outside (they're not black).
that’s too bad, right now we’ve had these for over 10 months and they are still up and working. nothing wrong yet .however yes, for a few more dollars you can have real blinds
You were the only person I could find that confirmed that these are easily resizable with scissors; thanks!
@@TheFrenchmanCooks Don't mind them, they're soulless robots
i guess it is kind of randomly asking but do anyone know a good site to watch newly released series online ?
It’s even easier (and probably more accurate) with a sharp knife. Just press the schottish firmly together and cut through it with some force.
It literally says that on the website...
Literally the clearest explantation ever, cheers!
such a helpful video. you hit all the points and questions i had in a clear way. thank you.
Good for rentals with minimal impact on the window surround

I have brought these came yesterday going to put them up today. Thank you for the video
Can we get a demo of them during daylight hours?
Thank you! This was the first video to show the clips in action, which is what I wanted to see.
I'm a guy & I'm gonna buy these guys to put on my guys so my guys don't get hot. I hope these guys work. Thank you guy..

I cut it with scissors and it worked perfectly
thank you so much for showing us this much details with patience

Thank you for the demonstration. I have found it very useful.
This is why i live youtube😆
For cleaner edges on the side I kept the blind folded and used a knife with one cut

Nice instructional video. I wasn't sure what to do with the velcro or the little black bits. Thank you!
I like your double shade action.
Is it difficult to take them off and will they leave any marks?
Awesome video. Just what I needed.
I would say gloss paint is hard to stick great video thanks
It should be white on the outside to reflect the sun heat
They’re not designed to keep the room cool they’re designed to block the sunlight so you can sleep

Can we just stapler it?
How do you keep them open??
Not possible. IKEA trash
Can you use these under regular white blinds my apartment complex has bolted in window panes?
I need to fix these to aluminum doors as a temporary fix. Do you think its feasible to swap out the adhesive strip for a magnetic one - is there much tension in the blind when pulled down?
A sharp box cutter does better than scissors. Cuts right thru the multiple layers (you may need to flip it to cut the rest). TFS your video!
I actually ended up making another video where if you use a kitchen knife 🔪- like the one used for bread - it works really good
ingenious -_-
I had to shoot when the sun is shining to check how they do not let the light through!
Wow, 10 minutes for double side tape. Thank you Mr. Engineer.
You can also hot glue the blind hold things to the window . it will go up and down with the window.
Terrific--super helpful.
Thank you, very good demo.
what if the window is like 120 cm D:

U could also put it up and then put the original blinds down

Is it suitable for a window in which there are no edges on the wall to be glued?

Great video! Just curious, what type of material is it out of. The reason why I ask is because I don’t want it to brittle under continuous direct sun. Thanks!
100% polyester
Can you stick is also directly on the frame? I have really high walls above the window :/ thanks 💓
Can you take it off and transfer or stick to other area? Will it still stick or paste?
Great video, thank you! :)

nope
How do you get the blinds to stay up? Those clips don’t hold all the blind.
the clips do in fact hold the blinds all the way up. use both of them. as long as you use them properly

Does it blackout really? I bought one lookalike at Amazon that actually doesnt....
it does a great job , yes

Are these water proof? I purchases these from homdepot but the side wasn't shiny so when it rained they got ruined ... I ended up buying blinds
May I know the width of a pleat please?
Thank you 👍

Probably but i wouldnt trust the velcro to stay up

hi, does this glue well on concrete frame?
the glue is strong , i think it can as long as there is no dust on the concrete

Most of mine work fine. For the couple that didn't, I happen to have extra strong velcro strips that do the job.
You can purchase some more double sided adhesive and they will go back up fine
👍
No, no, no, no... That looks worse. In time, your shades will fade and tear because of constantly pushing those clips.
it has been 2 years and they are good
Mate just buy some proper blinds. Surely these should only be temporary.
One of the most boring episodes on youtube. This video can be reduced to 40 seconds and it will be much more informative.
