Even though I never met David, I felt a strong connection with him and his art. I like to think I had two fathers, the father of my physical form and David, the father of my creative spirit. Rest easy David for you will always be loved and never forgotten, and I hope you are in the most beautiful place with the most beautiful music playing.

This song is stunning. It makes you feel like you've reached the epitome of meaning and life, but at the same time you feel as though there is nothing. Endlessly drifting through life, but forever in one place. It's nothing and everything all at the same time. Love and loneliness. Few months ago I watched Mulholland drive and after that I knew MR. Lynch was one of his own kind. His work stands apart . During this period of isolation I watched blue velvet and inland empire. I'm in totally awe . Such a unique and original content and mind boggling.

For me as fan of great cinema his works are in league of Stanley Kubrick, Akira Kurosawa, Andrei Tarkovsky. Cinematic art at it's best.

@Rishi Eastwood yes he isn't celebrated in mainstream in accordance to the quality content he have delivered over the years.
Maybe his works aren't meant for masses , there is some obscurity and ambiguity in his plots which makes it difficult to understand.

Maybe this pandemic is monumental enough that its lesson won't be lost on the next generation. It's up to all of us to document this from all perspectives, so that future historians will find the truth (Some world leaders may be tempted to revise history as they try to save face by controlling the narrative). The truth will be spoken through a kaleidoscope of songs, art, and stories from the heart.
This won't be history, rather a transformation. Say goodbye to the world we knew.

I love how this so awesomely recalls Julee Cruise's songs on Twin Peaks.
Seriously awesome for that feeling and atmosphere to be transferred from the early 90s to be released this year as this great song, featuring the vocals of a woman who would've just been starting school when Twin Peaks was on air.
The Twin Peaks soundtrack is amazing. So atmospheric and strange to go with such a peculiar TV series. You're right, this recalls it perfectly. It has that sad 1950s quality with a mournful refrain.

David Lynch worked very closely with Angelo Badalamenti on the Twin Peaks soundtrack and was very specific about the atmosphere he wanted to create.

Near the end of part 2 he looks out from the black lodge and looks at a road that looks just like this, I had to come back to listen to this song. I wish this song played in the episode.

Yeah, it song captures how heart breaking it was that Coop lost 25 years of his life. His soul atrophied and forgot how to operate a body. I hope he comes back by episode 8 at least.
