- Is a firewood processor right for your operation? Watch as we process straight and crooked logs on our Dyna SC16 Rapid Split firewood processor, and discover how this machine can handle a variety of wood types, but is it worth the work with nasty logs? Don't miss Dyna Days July 19 and 20 2024 in Millington, MI! Rachel and I will be there on the 19th, it is a family fun event!

Pretty impressive machine if you got the right logs 👍
Thanks Tom! It definitely put the wood out.
good video and job. most my fire wood is like your last 2. i put the good ones on sawmill. take care, be safe and well.
I wish I had a mill!
Yall are skyrocketing in subs and this is a great video!!! Congrats and thank you!!!
Thanks Will!
Hey Heath and Rachel , I enjoyed running the processor earlier this year 👍🏻🇺🇸🪵
Thanks Del, it is a fun machine.
It was great meeting you two at the Dyna demo days on Friday. This is Marty the Dyna dealer from Kentucky. I appreciate the T-shirt and the decals you gave me. I look forward to seeing the footage you shot at the event once the editing process is over. Heath and Rachel are the real deal and just as nice as you think they are in person.
Marty, it was great meeting you too. Hopefully we’ll have that video out soon. It was a fun day.
Great Vid, brother. Very informative! At the end of the day I guess we still need a way to split crappy wood for boiler wood so hopefully it wasn't all a total waste. Chip
For sure, thanks Chip!
Every processor has its limitations strait logs and the corect diameter is key to keeping them running at peak production.
For sure! With the right wood they fly through it!
Log prep is key. Cut the log to get the crook out and load it from the end of the log trough. When I rented the SC16 we loaded shorts between the end live deck arms directly into the log trough. Good job, remember there is a learning curve!
Yes it is!
We run with 2 people on a processor at all times. The operator focuses on running the machine and the 2nd man does prep work like preparing the logs so the machine is always cutting/splitting and not on idle for the next log
Definitely need two people to get the most out of it!
Whoops thanks for sharing another interesting video. I'd still like to have a processor like you have.
You’re welcome, appreciate the feedback.
Wish we could have made it up there. Great video Heath and Rachel
Thanks Ted, it was a good time.
Heath, seems like a nice processor, one thing I notice that would be a big improvement would be a tray to lower the wood into the tunnel. I’m sure someday that will be an upgrade in their processor. One chainsaw cut on the crooked stuff would make an operators job so much better. Great video, TY for sharing. Dave from Maine.
Very good points Dave and I agree!!
Good one team. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Noel!
Some of those rounds would be a challenge for a single wedge horizontal!
I agree!
Are the first two live chains close enough that you could have cut the piece in two to straighten them out. Or cut them in the through?
Crooked logs are a pain in a processor.
Yes they are!
Heath and Rachel it 👀ed like 👍 a remake of the the original movie the good, the bad,and of course the ugly 😮😊❤
For sure Todd!
I wasn't able to make it to Millington last weekend. I was walleye fishing on outer saginaw bay. That crooked stuff is...oof. thats all i can say
For sure! Hope you had a good time fishing!
2 man limit of walleye. All nice fish! Way more fun the cutting wood , and less sweaty.
You should have started with the other end when you put that crooked log in
I just loaded them how they came off the pile to test it out.
I won’t be able to make it today. My girl has dialysis today until 230. Wish I could have made it. Peace
Hope everything went well for you guys!
Hey guys. Great show. I bet ya won't do that again.
Thanks Lenny, we’ll separate out the crooked ones for the saws and splitters.
The other factor is my average wood size is about the maximum of a processor When dealing with fir.
In Red Alder, it's generally under 22" so 95% would fit. But being hard wood, your back to getting some not so straight wood.
Or extreme timber bind on saw bar/chain.
.
The other thing dealing with leftovers from logging is blown up logs, having a broken end to feed through a processor. Not really ideal.

Availability of the correct wood plays a key part in how beneficial a processor is!
It should be called
"Hard working woman" , the misses does most of the work !!! 😂
Hey, I was the one working in this video!
Yeah I don't think a processor would work for me 90% of what I get is eucalyptus and almost all of it is crooked. Btw update on the house repair from the fire they've still done absolutely nothing
So frustrating, my sister dealt with the same thing when they had a house fire.
get chainsaw and buck log in half
That would have helped.
When you buy logs for firewood no one is going to sell you the straight stuff. All the good logs are sent to the lumber mills because they can get way money for them then you will ever pay for firewood.. Not sure why you thought you would be getting straight stuff. You will get the crap they can sell to the mills
Not true. I can ask my guy to get me straight 12” diameter no problem. It just costs a tad more. If I get a standard load half are still straight.
I see people get a lot straighter than what I got around me.
🪵👍
Thanks Will!
GREAT SHOW GANG,
