I love that the new spear plus the shield makes it so overall wigfrid just lives up to her own hype. She tanks anything without getting hurt through dodging or blocking, sings songs that make her even more powerful, and can use the simple cheese of her new stuff to get around a bunch of boss related stuff. The bigger the boss, the more likely Wigfrid has something specifically useful for killing it. Boss summons smaller enemies like queen bee? Dash through and kill without a worry. Boss traps you like fuelweaver? Dash through that and ignore it. Boss hit super hard so therefore attacks slower overall? The shield can make her untouchable. She’s gone from a good tanker to tanking with more style than anyone thought possible.
Isnane did you think if this tatctic? This would be absolutely amazing if the spear itself didnt cost 2 horns and could be repaired easier still a really cool mehod
@@skallet I wasn't talking about wigfrid herself that's good is just that with the spears high cost and not great DMG unless something is wet using it as a actual weapon is something people probably won't do unless it's at least not too hard to repair
I tried about 7 times. And this is the second time I’ve succeeded. I would say it’s not too difficult to do this strategy if you know how to control the minions and using only helmets. For your concern about cost and damage. You can upgrade the spear before defeating Fuelweaver. With the upgrades, dashing the minion will repair the spear. Each minion or dash hit target repairs 2% of durability. So each wave of shadow wovens can repair probably 30 to 50%. It should be fairly sustainably. The damage will be 94 per hit on dry target or 131 per hit on wet target.
I have a dumb question, can the lightning spear be used while fighting on a beefalo? Other items with right click functionality like the weather pain and lazy explorer can be used, so I’m just curious
@@CatCatuna bummer, both would be really fun to use, imagining a whole cow zipping around like lightning is amusing And I’m also bummed for the shield because beefalo riders need a way to take on bosses like Werepig without basically being one shot. Perhaps if they added knockback resistance to the battle saddle it would go from bad to niche
There's knock back resist on the Commander's helm. I don't know if it still knocks you off of a beefalo while wearing though. I'll have to test it out and let you know in a bit. Edit: Commander's helm will protect you from the knockdown animation, but an attack from the nightmare werepig will still dismount you.

Why not wormwood a notorious beefalo user If wendy, maxwell and characters who are actually better with a beef dont get that I swear on god
What's the fastest you've unlocked the Elding Spear 2? I'm not talking about beating CC but just getting the restrained static. I wonder if you can consistently rush it by the start of winter or end of autumn.
You can start the moonstorms every first winter if it's your focus. Ideally, you rush magic stations, a beefalo, and the mooncaller's staff early Autumn. Pearl can be done without the rain quest by early winter using the relic chair and 5 heavy fish quest. Crab King can be killed with just 20-30 killer bees too. So, it's easily achievable within 30 days. Missing your chance with the day 11 mooncaller can feel devastating, but you're still good to start the moonstorms before Spring if you wait until day 31. If for some reason I was stuck in ruins on day 11, I would pivot to do the Fuelweaver sequence instead of the Celestial Champion. Just grab an extra construction amulet and you're good to make a handful of uncharged Elding Spears. It's ideal to do Fuelweaver first before Celestial Champion anyways when playing Wigfrid.
Is it worth it to farm for commander helm for Wigfrid? I feel like the skill to repair and more durability is cool and all but kinda not worth it. Meanwhile I feel the saddle might be more useful

On UA-cam, there is someone who killed cc by day 33. So it's possible to start moon storm in year 1 if you push it.
