I think Peril's dependent relationships with both Scarlet and Clay were also a really interesting way of contrasting the two characters who (besides maybe Scarlet and Sunny?) were as completely different dragons as the series ever presented. On one hand, we have Scarlett telling Peril she accepts her as a way of manipulating Peril into obedience and on the other, we have Clay telling Peril he accepts her as a way of freeing her from the burden of other dragons' opinions. Both work on Peril because nobody else (except maybe that one dragon Scarlett executed in the first book) has accepted her in the way she's always wanted to be. Basically, what I'm saying is: Peril really did have a traumatic life and this video did a great job explaining why!
You're right! She feels like she has to listen to Scarlet because she "accepted her" despite her being a firescales, or that her mother abandoned her and she took her in
Poor Peril, I can't imagine how much she had to suffer, Scarlett destroyed her family, she grew up in a terrible environment where she was treated like an object and taught to kill, and the worst thing is that Scarlett tormented her day and night even after she manages to escape, and her father is a cynic and a freeloader. But despite everything she suffered, she managed to be happy in the end, and Clay helped her a lot, although many were against her, and she managed to make more friends like Turtle who love her for who she is, and even adapted well to the academy. hopefully she meets Sky soon.
Other sad things is that in Possibility, Peril even thinks of multiple ways to kill Moon and Qibli. She literally says in her head that she couldn't ever recognize dragons because she would size them up for opponents.. now that is something sad and depressing. Scarlet abused her so badly throughout her life and made her kill so many dragons, that Peril couldnt ever recognize anyone and store it in her head.

Peril is one of my favorite characters from this book (although Tsunami's my favorite character out of the whole series) and I felt bad for her when she found out Scarlet lied to her about Kestrel being dead. Peril's been through a LOT. She totally deserved better. It was heartbreaking seeing all the manipulation that has happened for Peril. I was glad at the end when Peril finally started to think for herself. Scarlet's not my favorite character in the books, and I really hated how badly she treated Peril and lying to her about the black rocks she "needed" to survive. I loved when Peril saved Clay from the dragonbite viper in The Brightest Night. Even though she does have attachment issues to him, it shows she's really loyal to him. Peril's a really good character. It really makes me sad when we actually SEE the parts when Scarlet treats her poorly. Scarlet acts like Peril is no more than a dragon. I was really happy when Peril finally stood up to Scarlet and started to think for herself. And gosh I might've wrote maybe a whole essay on her. Sorry about that. XD

What if Clay's egg got crushed while Asha got stuck in the fight (between whatever they were) What if Hawthorn dodged the thorn? What if the Scorching never happened? What if Scavengers never existed? What if Beetlewings and Leafwings didn't move to Pantala? What if instead of Wasp, the queen was Lady Scarab? What if Arctic was a kinder father, like Foeslayer? What if the dragonets of destiny happened/What if the Talons of Peace didn't exist? Peril is honestly one of my favorite characters, even if she’s not in the top spot. Her book is my second favorite in the series (of what I’ve read so far), and I do think she deserves better- NOT COUNTING CLAY, CLAY IS MY BABY
Amazing video! Peril is a quite the character! I find it interesting how we choose our favorite characters. Because we either admire them, feel sympathy towards them, or simply understand them. For me, my favorite character is DarkStalker because I find myself thinking like him quite a bit, and I can see and understand his reasoning. But enough about DarkStalker and myself. I just want you to know that you make AMAZING videos and that you have a nice voice! By the way, what if Blue and Cricket have never met Sundew? What if Glory never became the RainWing queen? Edit: I forgot to tell you I also like how you listen to your commenters.
I liked that Turtle went to the sky kingdom to rescue Peril, and that Peril befriended Cliff, and stayed with Moon, Qibli, and Winter, after getting the scroll and when Qibli confronted Chamaleon and defended her from him
It s maje me laugh, at the epilogue of dragon of darkness,even winter write a letter to peril, i think the jade winglet will stay in contact and it s funny that peril is on theirs teams. And one thing to add, her guilt feeling about released darkstalker. All what she wanted was to make winter and quibli stop arguing about the scroll. Imma bit sad for her
I Love peril she is amazing character i absolutely hate it when people say oh she killed innocent dragons and she deserves to suffer well listen buddy she was forced to kill and grew up like so you cant blame her for that she was indoctrinated by scarlet and yet still people say peril deserves to suffer and ruby should be killed and let's not forget that these are the same people say we should bring back whirlpool like literally these people are either they are extremely stupid or are just unhinged fanboys its like trying argue with a rock its just meaningles just leave these type of people onestly.

Peril is a really good character. Not my favorite though my favorite character is definitely Clearsight.

Sounds really interesting! My guess is that he would probably try to take advantage of her in some way

Fun fact: Peril was originally going to be killed off but because of how popular she was with the fans Tui decided to keep her in the story
Her death would have been... not a good decision. She'd had nothing but misery except for times with Clay her entire life.
