  • Just for fun we decided to see how Gina’s 2016 Kawasaki Ultra 310R would compare to Chad’s 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX.
    We both agreed it doesn’t get much closer!
    Both skis are totally stock and have factory limiters restricting excessive speeds.
    We sure had a blast that day, both skis are amazing jetskis.
    Go Team Green!

    I think that’s the first Ultra v. Ultra run on the internet! Thanks for the vids!

      You might be right JD. I had a blast getting the opportunity to ride the new Ultra. So thankful Chad decided to visit with us for a few days. His new ski is beautiful, it was nice to be able to swap up skis and get that first hand experience on how the two models compared. Bottom line they’re both amazing skis end result. Thanks for watching!

      @@LifeBeginsOnTheWater That's awesome! I was thinking- so your 2016 310r weighs 1,047 LBS and the 2022 310LX weighs 1,089 lbs! So the new ski is 42 lbs heavier- not including the rider. If they were neck and neck, that's pretty amazing that Kawasaki somehow managed to add 42 lbs to the ski and keep the speed metrics competitive with the previous gen.

      @@JDsWaterWorld That’s very true, the new ski feels like it just wants to be set free. Stretch her legs out some. Chad can’t wait to see who’s going to put out a SCOM for the new gen first.

      @danielmarjanovic9957 Very very Reliable Daniel. We have just about 700 hrs on the original motor! It’s been the most reliable PWC in our fleet over the 20+ years of owning several PWC brands. Thanks for watching.

      @@danielmarjanovic9957Understandable, 2014-2017ish had some piston issues for sure. No doubt a lot was speed up by owners not running recommend octane. Try to always run 91 or above if possible. If and when you come across low octane at a marina just don’t ride the ski like a jackass 😂 in other words not wide the hell open throttle. Please do the routine maintenance treat her well she would do the same!

    Would love to see a video comparing the features of each ski. I guess there was an update in 2014, 2017, and again in 2022.

      @LifeBeginsOnTheWater  Рік тому +1

      Appreciate you watching Factionfx. 2014-2021 Kawasaki Ultra 310’s are actually the same for the most part. Difference on 2014-2021 model would only be colors, internal changes like upgraded pistons stuff they usually don’t advertise happening behind the scenes. 2022 -2023 Kawasaki Ultra 310 platform major changes! Same bottom hull, totally different upper deck, electronics and ergonomics. First time as well for Kawasaki to add a brake feature. Hope this information was helpful.

      @@LifeBeginsOnTheWater thank you for that information. Considering coming the Kawasaki route once prices retreat and stabilize lower. Coming from 2017 Yamaha fxho and gp1800r svho. Is there much of a difference with rider weight? whenever I see these tests, I always wish we could see another run with the riders swapping ski's just to see the results!!

    • @LifeBeginsOnTheWater
      @LifeBeginsOnTheWater  2 роки тому +1

      Not in this case for sure, both skis are a 100% stock from the factory and have speed limiters. End result the newer ski is a little heavier but doesn’t seem to effect it, with that being said Gina’s Kawasaki has 580+ hrs which doesn’t seem to be effecting how good she still performs! But next time I will have to swap riders for sure. Thanks for watching.

      Alex - with the supply and demand imbalance these days the used prices are ridiculous - dealer tried to sell me a year old FX SVHO for $25K and another seadoo 5 year old model w torn seats for $17k so I “settled” on a new model - landing a new one (had to work for it and markup as advertised in Kawi website) felt like I won the lottery

      Yeah no doubt, decision decisions for sure. Can’t go wrong either way if you find a clear well maintained Kawi 310. On the upside to the new Kawi you would have a warranty and could purchase extended as well. I’m personally not one for used. I like to have that peace of mind & warranty.
