G'day Kevin, I think you got it right the first time as more of a family/watersport rig at more of an affordable price. 1. The rear view camera as its caters for the blue collar family where hearing might be on the low side. I can speak from experience there have been many times I've had to turn my body around just to hear what the spotter is saying. Having the camera will just be easier to know what the person being towed is trying to communicate via hand signals rather relying on a booming voice from the spotter. 2. The running light to help with on water visibility. This is also inconjuction with the lime green. I feel this ski will just be that little easier to see. Which seeing something few seconds earlier can mean the difference between a crash and near miss. 3. Extended swim platform. I feel that that these three points make it more positioned for watersports/family ski but at the more affordable side of things. Let's face it at the top tier price range the average family Joe will be happy to give a lot of uneeded features to keep that extra coin in the pocket.
Have 4 hours on my 23 lx-s I picked up last Friday. The Kawi green was the selling point for me. Coming from many STX’s, 1100di, 12F and 15F skis this thing is loaded by comparison. I do carry extra fuel from time to time so the extended deck was a welcome addition. They can keep the camera. I ride to unwind, stereo= zero to me. 18,999.99 and no usb charger, really! This ski rides so good in chop it is unreal. One last thing, to make power you need fuel. This is a thirsty ski.
I hate speakers on a jet ski. Is there anyway to take off the speakers in for wells? I need the extra leg room, unless the adjustable seat really provides options??
Very informative video Kevin. I am considering which model 310 to purchase. I just don't understand why all the colors are not available for each model 310? Thank you for being an awesome resource for watercraft.
I like the green on mine too. It has the options that I like. I don't want sound, the wind visor, or the adjustable seat. Maybe the lx-s is more of a niche ski. Only discerning tastes will appreciate it.
Would you say this is the best ski for doing offshore riding? If one was to do say a lot of rec riding from Dana Pt to Catalina, what would you pick? GP1800r? RXPX? GTX? etc
So the things that are missing from the goldie locks lx is the stereo and adjustable seat? Kspeed did a video on how to install the seat parts to convert the non adjustable seat. Can the stereo be added?
The stereo can be added. The LX has the luxury seat with 3-way adjustability, Jetsound 4 Sound system and front wind screen over the LX-S…. And, obviously, a different colour…
Great vid Kev. 👍 I love the Kawsaki green. Vid doesn’t help me much though….the LX-S isn’t available in Canada! 🤷♂️🤦♂️. Couldn’t get the R up here either. I don’t understand Kawasaki’s business strategies. If I could get the LX in the colour of my 2020 LX, I would be all over it tomorrow. Don’t like the Gold. Any idea what the Colours will be for next year Kevin??
Hard to believe that these can take offshore chop better than the RXT. I see you bouncing around a lot on that lake, my 21 rxt acts like that little lake chop here in the intracoastal doesn't exist.
Mike, the "bouncing around" that you see on Kevins video is exaggerated by the cameras nature of not being stable even when using the cameras internal stabilizer. What you are viewing is likely way more rough than Kevins actual experience.
this is crazy, iv had all the latest skis, seadoo 3 new yamahas, i wanted to look at kawaka, after seeing this fuck that, lights, reverse camera, immm yeaa the crash is always behind you, just like a car, forward is wear the fuck up is, dont tell me its about a skier ok, the hole to put a chilly bin, fuck me, who is designing this shit, fuck that ill just stick with yammy, works for me just like the 7 r1s iv owened, whatare designers thinking ddddaaaaaa kiwi nz living in perth au
Kevin if i buy this model can i upgrade the soundsystem like the top modell? Or aint possible? My dealer has the green version in stock. I dont want to wait 5month to get the 2023 gold version.
It's been a LONG time coming, but The Watercraft Journal finally got its hands on the all-new 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310X JetSki

I debunk each of the idea of it being a family tow rig in the video and the article.

It’s a split decision on a lot of features
I hate speakers on a jet ski. Is there anyway to take off the speakers in for wells? I need the extra leg room, unless the adjustable seat really provides options??
Just get the one without the speakers and much cheaper
Moving to a coast so just thinking about my first watercraft. Your channel is awesome and helping me massively educate myself.
In my opinion, The LX will be for every family and future option ability. I tell my boys, I got go fast but I like to know that I can.
Fair enough
I love my LX-S, but can understand it’s not for everyone. Great shots of the ski btw 🤘🏻
You should get credit for some of the video shots. Seems like I've seen them somewhere before. 🤔
@@johnd5094 John, Kevin and I had an agreement for WCJ to use my shots in his review. ✌🏻
@@JDsWaterWorld I knew Kevin would would be a stand up guy. I just had to mention.
If only you stayed to watch the credits you would see that JD gets top billing credit for extra footage.
@@watercraftjournal I thought you would give him credit. I thought it was cool that I recognized his footage. Open mouth and insert foot.

I wanted the top line but the GREEN is a must to go with my other Kawa's. So, I got the LX-S and added the sound system!
Factory sound? If so what is the charge? Did you install?
This is what I am leaning towards. Kawi green is iconic, and you can add the accessories like you stated.
That's a sweet looking ski! I especially like the LED headlights.
Add me into the only got it because it’s Green group. 😂😂. I could care less about features, I just need it to be reliable and fast. 👍
Then go with the X
I feel you @Gmtail nothing says pure Kawasaki like that heritage Lime Green!
I like the green on mine too. It has the options that I like. I don't want sound, the wind visor, or the adjustable seat. Maybe the lx-s is more of a niche ski. Only discerning tastes will appreciate it.
On the 310x if it's being towed in the water are their any lines that have to be crimped to avoid water getting in the engine? Ty...
I have a 310 Ultra R, it’s an absolute machine
Thanks WCJ for another awesome video and review 😊
Thanks again!
We need a 2.0 supercharged mega ultra guys. 450hp Under the butt.
I bought it because its a kawa and its green 😬🫣
You're not alone.
Want to get an Ultra 310LX and a Sea Doo 325 RXTX. Perfect pair for me
Would you say this is the best ski for doing offshore riding? If one was to do say a lot of rec riding from Dana Pt to Catalina, what would you pick? GP1800r? RXPX? GTX? etc
310X
The 2024 color scheme looks great
Take one to Catalina please. I'm a Yami guy but I love Ultras on island runs offshore. Terrific ski
They’re there
Headlights on a PWC. Been a long time coming.
Meh, they don't cast a beam so they're really marker lights.
Nice ski but still prefer the FX SVHO
Keep replacing your clutches in chop and hope hull doesn't crack
So 310x & 310lx are different hull or they the same hulls (top & bottom)
Identical
I would only buy the green and black. Best color
You’d be in it for more than the cost of an LX though
Gotcha thanks
KSRD? Kawasaki sure loves K acronyms. Add that one to their KSD, KATS, and K-TRIC. I'm sure I missed some.
Oh yeah, there's more. Remember when Sea-Doo put "i" in front of everything?
Great vid Kev. 👍 I love the Kawsaki green. Vid doesn’t help me much though….the LX-S isn’t available in Canada! 🤷♂️🤦♂️. Couldn’t get the R up here either. I don’t understand Kawasaki’s business strategies.

Same as '22.
Great Video! I’d still go with the 310x.
As would we
Is it normal with 13 hrs in, with 2 ppl about 340 lbs total, to not be able to pass 64mph and lile 12/13 lbs of thrust? It's a 2023 310lx
Yup
I'm hitting 71mph gps now without any upgrades yet. Just needed to learn how to play with it. Best ski ever made brother. 😂😂😂
@@fernandomartin624 oh really? that's great to hear im leaning 310LX over the Seadoo 325 RXT-X
I wish my X came in Kawasaki green!
I don't.
@@watercraftjournal I am a Kawasaki guy at heart hence my love for the MEAN GREEN, but the teal and hi-vis on my X gives it a distinct semblance.
I raced for Kawasaki for years and the green is overplayed.
The blue and yellow x looks like your logo A bit Kevin
How can you love the 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310x with issues with water in the gunnels and tippy attitude in water.
Maybe but if the x-s is all you can get in a 300 mile radius then I’m going with that.
Nice
Yup
Pretty green but yamie makes that green more reliable teehee. 😂 Does the kawi got a cruise that is actually a cruise unlike yamies.
The service reports show otherwise, Costas. Less total failures than Yami
Yamaha looks wrong in green in my opinion. It is like your favorite liberal wearing a donkeypox shirt.
ES UNA BESTIA BAJO EL AGUA 🚤😈🔥🔥
God daaaanm how fucking big do we need these? Are they really pwc's anymore or a small boat class?
LOL - I'll answer that when you tell me why Americans are on average 9-14lbs. heavier today than in 1985.
@@watercraftjournal lol Mexican food amd cervesa! That's what I had for dinner and I feel 14lbs heavier lol

The ultra will crap on that rxtx in rough water, like can’t compare
Sorry Mike, the ST3 hull is demonstrably the worst offshore hull on the market. Sea-Doo's top brass even acknowledge its limitations.
Mike, the "bouncing around" that you see on Kevins video is exaggerated by the cameras nature of not being stable even when using the cameras internal stabilizer. What you are viewing is likely way more rough than Kevins actual experience.
Sea Doo fanbois crack me up...they are all glass water riders!
Review some GP1800’s
Already have. They're unchanged for '22 so look at our '21 review.
😁👍🏼
👍🏻

Yeah, you can't fit a cooler in the front storage at all.

You don't need it. Enjoy being outside without extra stimuli.
The S in lx-s stands for subpar
Maybe
But if the x-s is the only thing available in a 300 mile radius then that’s what I will go with.
