    I like that you're respectful and can really appreciate how analytical you were when breaking down the kick. Your presentation and even showing the two types was immaculate. I enjoyed this tutorial and will probably watch many more.

    For many years I was looking for a lesson on the kicking. In the Russian-speaking channels no video (tutorials). Finally I found something on your channel. You're really cool like Van Damme or Bruce Lee!

    Thank you :) I do plyometrics, drill jump kicks a lot and that's pretty much it. I don't do weights so it's just from that :)

      You just need to stretch in order to have a flexibility and also just follow the instructions of GNT
      He clearly explains the technqiues on his videos

    Very helpful tutorial Aaron. Though I did learn the 540 hook last summer, I always had a hard time with the balance of THIS kick even though I could do the "step-through" version of this easily (instead of stepping in first, using that step as a fake and not actually putting the foot down). It was all in the pivot of the front foot you pointed out. That along with spotting the target while stepping- nailed it!

      GingerNinjaTrickster I fell in love with this Spinkick for all my life, since I saw it in my childhood from the movies with Van Damme, he's Fantastic in this trick. I often call this move "Van Damme's Spinkick":-)

      Van damme 's kick is called helicopter kick not hook kick

    I appreciate you saying that. Thank you :) It should be as when you jump up, you have more height and time to do the kick. The version for sparring is about speed with minimal height so can be more difficult to learn. I'm glad you think that. Thanks again :)

    Make sure you have a spinning hook kick, practice the steps in the tutorial as it explain how to progress to the full jump and keep working hard. The advice you need is in the tutorial I assure you. Good luck with your training :)

    Amazingly informative. When you talked about shooting too early, that resonated with me super hard. Never been able to do this kick without falling or having 0 impact

    Those drills at the beginning are legit brother. I need to do those every day, all day in order to have great spinning kicks.

    Hi Great tutorial keep them coming. I like how you break everything down and explain it thoroughly. I am learning Soo Bahk Do going for my red belt soon. We have been doing a lot more sparring lately so will try to use this in my repertoire of kicks. Cheers Simon

    Just keep practicing. The information is in the tutorials so check your not mistiming or taking off incorrectly. If you still can't jump that high then build up leg strength. I have a tutorial on how to improve your jump so check that out too and good luck :)
