What about a lens without the "AR"? For example: I have a B8L and a Kern paillard lens made in Switzerland YVAR 1:1.8 f=13 No 823834, that´s all I can find on this lens.
Hi Steffen, The B8L is a non-reflex Bolex (pocket) model. Therefore, it takes a non-reflex aka AR lense aka Anti-Reflex (nicknamed). Many of the RX lenses aka Reflex (nicknamed) will have printed on the outside or inside the barrel AR to establish that it's a reflex lense. Exceptions would be with such as a RX aka Reflex lense in C Mount for an H-16 Bolex is the 75mm lense. It doesn't have RX printed on it because that's just the way it was marketed. The D Mount Lenses were for the pocket 8mm Bolex cameras. Such Bolex models as the P1, P2 & P3 are Reflex cameras. These models have a fixed RX lense.
@@paulmorbid1476 Still a bit confused. The "AR" lenses are anti reflex, so for a non reflex camera like my B8L, (or the H8 I showed you as well?). The "RX" lenses are only for Reflex models like the H8-reflex, (guess my model is none, cause I need the turret for focusing first and then switch to the image position). And what about the lenses wit no description at all, like the YVAR 13mm 1.8? No sign is "AR" as well?

The 13mm 1.8 was standard for the B8L non-reflex aka RX. And you have it correct that RX lenses aka Reflex lenses are for reflex Bolex cameras.
