    There’s a reason today’s game have guards with such high percentages, look at Kobe’s free throws here. It’s not like he wasn’t aggressive. They just wouldn’t call them and it was consistent. Everyone is afraid to get a foul called that you get so much room for shots and drives. If we could get back to this where it was more pure. Yeah we wouldn’t have a bunch of scoring but it would be more pure in the sense that we could potentially have less stops.

      Kobe outperformed Shaq vs the Spurs because Shaq had tougher defensive matchups with Shaq being double teamed by the twin towers, Duncan and DRob and Kobe receiving single coverage from Bowen. It’s the same reason why Shaq outperformed Kobe vs the Kings because Kobe faced a tougher defensive matchup in Doug Christie while Shaq was guarded by soft flopper, Divac and occasionally CWebb. Only exception is the 2001 WCSF vs the Kings where both were equally great, when Shaq posted back to back 40 pt 20rb games in games 1& 2 and Kobe scored 36 & 48 in games 3 & 4.

    This is EXACTLY why you take Kobe over LeBron....down 10 in the 4th qtr and not playing very well throughout the game, Kobe steps it up in the stretch run and makes the plays when it counts. LeBron would have packed it in down 10 with 6 mins to go!

      @jaspersmith1182 4 роки тому

      @@TheRafaelBondScoring 20 in a row isn't really an accomplishment when you come down and take every shot each possession. Clearly you missed the point my original post. You can be 0-15 for the game, but down the stretch when you need it most, I'd take Kobe over Lebron any day! Lebron would never lead his team back after struggling from the field all game down 10pts, he's not wired that way. Great player, but when the game is on the line and you need clutch plays and ability, Kobe is far superior.
      I'll never forget game 6 of the finals against Dallas. Miami was down in the 4th quarter just like this video, and when Lebron got the ball in the last 6 mins he would immediately pass the ball to Udonis Hasslem and Mario Chalmers!!!! You know why? Hmmm??? Because he doesn't have that clutch gene in him. I saw a young Kobe down 15 points in the 4th qtr of game 7 in the 2000 WCF bring his squad back, while being guarded by Scottie Pippen!
      As far as domination goes, I laugh at your notion that Lebron is more dominant than Kobe. Lebron played in the sorry Eastern Conference his whole career! Let's be real the west has been by far tougher to navigate through than the east. First year Lebron comes west he doesn't even make the playoffs.
      I guarantee you ask former players like Jordan, Shaq, Magic, Bird, etc etc who they would take between the two and they all would take Kobe. I've actually seen them all say it.
