  • This is the 2023 complete but quick guide to experiencing a Manoa Falls Hike with the rain, rocks, and raging water!
My mom and I take you with us on a 1.6 mile hike to one of the most popular (and easiest access) waterfalls in Hawaii! This waterfall is an amazing 150 tall and is in Manoa just 6 miles north of Waikiki Beach and Honolulu, Oahu. Chances are VERY high it will rain on you here, so if you're wondering what to wear on a hike to Manoa falls, we cover that here (Spoiler alert, it will get muddy, and also there's bugs.) Poncho, good traction shoes that are quick drying, bug spray, and a hat are some quick ideas to bring! If you're looking for things to do in Oahu or Honolulu or Waikiki or things to do in Hawaii in general, Manoa falls hiking trail will top most people's lists! After hiking this Hawaiian Trail ourselves, I'd say it is definitely worth it.... if it's not been a hot dry summer. Make sure there's going to be an actual waterfall when you get there, makes it much better!

Such beautiful nature so close to the city! I like that you can just ride a city bus to take you to a waterfall like that or to Diamond Head.

I agree! Nature is so close everywhere in Hawaii and it's amazing

I think the shoes on the tree belong to Stitch, from when he was designed to take everyone’s left shoe🤣

I got to hike Manoa Falls back in 2012. They had mentioned that some scenes from Jurassic Park the Lost World was filmed there.

Fun hike, see you got caught in the rain. is the weather as unpredictable in Hawaii as it is in Alaska?

I would say Alaska is much more unpredictable. A local told us that Manoa Falls is typically always rainy, sometimes even 3 or 4 times a day it rains. We just got lucky with a sunny start to our hike. Alaska I think is the prime example for putting nature's strength into perspective.

What's the opposite of a waterfall?
    A firefly.
