I agree with you Jake! Why are people complaining about Josh not going to the best and fairest when Wilkie said “Josh wouldn’t feel comfortable going” and plus the players would not be happy including the coaches because Josh told them he was staying and 24 - 48 hours after he signs with Hawthorn and says “sorry boys I love you all so much” that’s just pure betrayal…… Literally why is everyone going after our club with disrespect and saying that was rude of our team…. Like go and look at Richmond Baker’s and Shai Bolton’s speech….. ST KILDA were right the whole time and if people are saying we’re not right go and talk to wilkie (VICE CAPTAIN)

It’s quite annoying when because of situations regarding literally anything St Kilda does, it’s back to the same old “oh no wonder why they’re such an irrelevant club.” Either decision we make, we are hounded by the media and the general AFL fan base. We are taking a step forward to not accept mediocrity anymore and just not take shit from anyone. Whether Josh decided to not go or wasn’t invited, either way it’s done, he isn’t going to be an official St Kilda player within the next month. People will give us shit regardless of what we do, so we may as well do what we have to do to get this club the ultimate success we are all so craving for. Great video mate, keep up the content, keen to see more trade news in the next few weeks :)

Josh kept saying "I have to think about my young family"....in other words "I Want more money"
Then he goes to Hawthorn for less money? What the heck?
Then he puts us in danger of not getting the best draft concession.
He led us down the garden path.
    Yeah! We're ticked off.

Then obviously Saints fans aren't very good at reading between the lines... he was a diehard Hawks fans growing up, it was never about the money. Also, Battle can only accept what Hawthorn are willing to offer him. If they're not prepared to go a high as St Kilda's 950k offer, and they can only afford 850-900k, then what do you expect him to do? Turn it down?

It's a tough one. The Tigers players looked awkward as hell! To think Battle chose to take less money and leave and it's not like he wasn't an important part of our defence too. I have to say, with Gres, he was looking like he never wanted to be there well before the b&f last year.
Sadly i was at a players funcfuon just after our bye last year and he looked like he was attending a funeral.
Considering the rest of the team were so happy and so essy to speak too.

Thanks for clarification. Would have liked a Barrass situation and to occupy this space. How do we create a culture where a player who may no longer play for us is able to still be on good terms with players and club as a whole? Sux that the bitterness on matters of "business" affect relationships with players. It's not really totally on Battle how much Hawthorn are willing to pay and you could say "he should have looked after us", but ultimately, we do treat players as dismissable or disposable when it suits us, so sometimes it doesn't work out in our favour. I do hope we might be the kind of club players do a "Gaddard" or "Dal" and return to. I think we should try to keep the door open, however aware we don't want to cause further acrimony, so guess it might be a judgement call by those in the know.

If Josh Battle was being paid what he was worth in the first place, the door wouldn’t have been left ajar for Hawthorn. It’s funny, St.kilda do the same thing.
