- Learn how to mix many variations of the color turquoise, from blue-dominant turquoise to green-dominant turquoise. You will also learn how to mix turquoise several different ways with acrylic paint.

Very good video. I just purchased my first tube of Cobalt Teal, it is a one pigment paint and no mixture can have the glow this color has.

Prussian blue mixed with white is pretty close to turqoise, too.

black and yellow make green too
You are absolutely right, Cathy! I cover how mixing yellow + black make an olive green in my tutorial "How to Mix 3 Stunning Colors With Ease." Using yellow + black in a turquoise would desaturate the color a bit--so if that's what someone is going for, then by all means yellow + black is an option. I appreciate the comment!

How do you get a bright turquoise?
Either using less white in the mix, or you might just purchase a single pigment teal or turquoise color. Winsor & Newton has a cobalt turquoise that is very bright.

True! Add a touch of red if it's too minty.
