  • In this review, I'm going to take a look at a beer from the Badlands Brewing Company, and it's their GAAMA, the 2024 release. This is a Hazy IPA that is brewed and dry-hopped with Galaxy and Nectaron hops. This is the first beer I'm reviewing from Badlands on the channel, but I've had a few beers off-camera recently from them -- and they were delicious -- so I'm expecting this one to be quite good. My Canadian friends in the beer community speak highly about Badlands, which also helps. Let's see what this one is all about!
    Commercial Description:
For the first time in nearly 3 years, GAAMA is back! We haven't made this beer in so long because we haven't been able to find Galaxy and Amarillo we liked. We now have some Galaxy we are thrilled with and we have replaced Amarillo with Nectaron. This beer is better than ever and we're happy to have it back after a long absence!
Dry hopped with Galaxy and Nectaron, we taste a gentle bitterness, silky, mouth coating softness, fruit on fruit, and happiness. All at once. Yes, we are also aware that we spelled GAAMA wrong.

Badlands is one of my favorite Canadian breweries. One of the impressive things about Badlands, is they don't make bad beer. The high-quality level is consistent through out beer and styles. The other two Canadian breweries I recommend you try... Wood Brothers (in Glen Robertson, Ontario) and Messorem (Montreal, Quebec). That rounds-out my three favorite Canadian craft beer breweries. You mentioned Third Moon... I recommend their "Bone Tree" IPA series, but they also make tasty and smooth stouts ("Each Beast a god" stout series is often very good).

Yeah, I've had three beers from Badlands now, and the quality is quite apparent. Despite this one being a bit oxidized, it was still damn good!
As for the other Canadian breweries, I've heard of both, and we're actually getting Messorem in draft here in WNY. Might need to pick up a crowler of their stuff to review at some point. Had a collaboration with them and Third Moon on draft, and it was awesome! We're also starting to get Third Moon on draft, as well. Awesome times we're living in as far as beer goes, haha!
      Cheers, Byrne!

Thanks, Billy! It's been 90+ every single day this week, so I'm trying, but it sucks. I'm not built for this heat, haha! Hope you're enjoying yourself too, brother!
      Cheers!
