In this video Canadian Guitarist/producer Dean Wolfe reacts to Fair to Midland.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I'm Dean Wolfe, a mostly self-taught Canadian guitarist/composer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer/performer. I started out as a full time musician on the road at age 17 for two years, but went part-time ever since while holding day careers including as a chef and in spiritual health care while raising a family.
I've recorded hundreds of my own songs- many being used in media and award winning documentaries etc. I've been in several bands including a prog/jazz fusion act nFuze, performing in International Jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I abandoned the prog genre more or less back in the 1990s but have returned to it now with vigour a full 30 years later- so much prog I've ignored and quite frankly didn't have any idea about. My own prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i detoured into grunge, pop and alternative instead (then folk and acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ambient electric as well).

Criminaly underrated Band. Fables from a Mayfly is one of my all time Favourites till this Day
It's a shame to think that if they'd still been around over the last 5-6 years, these types of reaction videos/channels could've helped Fair to Midland to reach the exposure and success they truly deserved.
NICE!!! LOVE the falsetto. I've been waiting for you to react to Fair to Midland for literally years! People were mentioning them right from the beginning, and I'm so glad you got around to them! 👍👍👍
"Come inside the van, my friend...🍬🍭" 😂🤣😂
Every song on that album is good
Summer is 24/7 here lol we've been blessed with no hurricanes yet. Love this band
When i first heard fair to midland it was the machine shop, dance of the manatee, with Darroh upside down dec 17th 2011... its indescribable how hard i fell in love with them...their music is unusual and gorgeous... i am partial to their demo's too..the original songs alot of them had extra stuff that was cut out...like orphan anthem.. the demo v2 is the more emotional version and their live performance from 2003 darroh screamed they'll deny you over and over and over at the end.... just raw stuff...
thanks for sharing!
The Greener Grass is their best song!
It's a great Song but definitely not their best one.
probably their proggiest...but you cannot go wrong with about 25 of their songs.
Just found about this band maybe two months ago and they got onto my #2 spot on most listened to spotify out of 220,000 min
Love it for sure. They're my favorite band, so I'm biased, but anyway.. enjoyed the reaction!
Rishloo and Fair to midland have been my top played bands for years. I recently discovered The Band 3 and think it might break into the rotation.
LOVE their album wake pig so much, need to get into their other albums as well though. joey's vocals and guitar work is so good.
So glad I watched your previous Fair To Midland react video! They are awesome! Another band I recently discovered is Atomship. If you could react to their song “Mothra” that would amazing!
It's very pop and approachable in a good way. I like chorus work. Also the guitar riff in the background is great.
Brand new to your channel. Searched Fair to Midland and found this. You have to try and find a quality live version of this song. Like most of their catalogue, the recorded versions don’t do justice. In the bridge of this song there’s an extended jam section that they build up to and when they release the singer would also go insanely nuts.
yeah, so FTM's "welcome mat" song: MUSICAL CHAIRS from their last album arrows & anchors. here: ua-cam.com/video/sD3HwZbKAlo/v-deo.html comes right after a blistering, toolish opener whiskey & ritalin.
They play in an open C tuning
hey, im Zack, im new to this channel but i absolutely love your reactions! fair to midland has been one of the most impactful bands in my life and my music career, helped me through some dark days too. I highly recommend you check out their song An Occurence During The Restoration Process from the album The Carbon Copy Silver Lining, it's one of the best songs from their first official album, much different from these past two songs you've reacted to. Would be really nice if you could do a reaction to it, I'm sure you'd enjoy it!
Hi zach, noted
DEAN! Love your vids, i dont comment much, sorry..... You NEED TO DO Rikki Tikki Tavi and Tall tales taste like sour grapes from this band! Those are a couple of their most unique sounding songs and they are AMAZING! Hope you'll see this and consider those songs. Keep doing what you do and God bless sir
Thanks Xetus
I can almost guarantee you that your guitar is not in the right tuning for that song
