Hey great shots of the area. Nice and clear. I cant see why this doesn't have more comments! Nice work around shortcut, that everyone can use. It takes a darn good mechanic to look at a machine after reading the manual and saying "no way I'm going through all that", and find a easier way to get er done. Never rush it, think it through every step and take your time. Good advice, Gregory!

That's amazing you are the original owner of a 1989. I was freshman in high-school and now I'm pushing 50 years old. That's a very long time lol. 👍

I just picked up a 88 1500 and started to search videos. Thank you. You are very informational. You also got my subscription. Great video. 👍

Gregory, thanks so much for this video. My 97 Apencade is running cold and I need to replace the thermostat. The few forum posts I've read tell how HARD of a job this is...Been wanting to see a video of gong in from the top and removing the carbs. You are the first one to post such a video. Glad to see what must be done!!

Thanks for the video. I needed your inspiration to tackle this job on my own. I have a coolant leak somewhere under the filler cap of my 1994 GL1500, and no idea where it's coming from, so I'm digging into it soon. I hope it's just a loose clamp. Time will tell.

My 89 GL1500 has a terminal lean condition. Sea foamed........checked vacc leaks......isolaters .....air shot delete.....im considering removing the 2 water lines from the carbs and just bypassing them, because it only runs lean once hot. I never ride when its cold out anyways. Im sure mpg will go down alittle, but im worried about the knocks and pings once temp comes up.Your thoughts?

There are several reasons why your wing will run lean you will have to go through the 7 induction systems that you're 89 has go look up on you tube Shane Martin the 7induction systems of the Honda goldwing gl1500 it's a training video for technicians it will help you understand how the 7systems work and help you get to the problem quickly to the other two things are in correct float bowl height set to low causing a learn condition or have you changed the original exhausts?? If you have you may need to remove the carbs and rejet them too at least two sizes bigger another one to check out is the vac lines underneath the rubber matting the red colour ones go to the carburetor control box and because they are all linked to both manifolds are prone to rotting I have just replaced mine with silicone ones because the silicone lines take temperatures upto 200c lastly join goldwingdocs.com.
