I had a minor leak into the pan for a few years. Always thought it was the gas cap, was even told my Honda dealer it was likely the cap. Not so. This video helped me a ton, mainly to just get to the petcock removal. Then, it got a little weak when he's actually doing the rebuild...slow it down, get it in focus and you'd have a GREAT video. Make sure you watch the mfg video for the actual rebuild kit install. Also, I just used a little KY for the grease. Other forums researched have said petroleum jelly (vaseline) is fine to use. Thanks for all your effort putting this together. I messed up the first time by not pulling the smaller diaphragm through the middle part of the "housing". Started the bike and gas was flowing out the pan tube. Show Chrome rebuild kit video: ua-cam.com/video/2APRgiXcuGU/v-deo.html
You could flood and hydrolock the cylinders, if your starter can push through that lock your will get gas in your engine case / oil and also risk bending a rod if only one or two fill up. This is of course only if your float system is failing on your carbs.
@@acidnine well the entire fuel system is above the tank......so not going to flood, or get a siphon effect... If anything i think it acts more as a one way valve so fuel is always at the carbs when your start it
Greetings,
As always another fantastic detailed video 🇺🇸🍾🎉🇺🇸
Keep producing more videos on the GL 1500

Alternatively you could install a manual petcock

What's the music, I like it!
What kind of Grease
Red Rubber Grease, doesn't harm rubber seals including brake seals.
Couldn't you just take off the 4 bolts and rebuilt it that way? I mean you're simply rebuilding it. No need to take everything apart
Bienas tardes donde podre conseguir ese repuesto de valvula
Great video. Super annoying “music”.
