I've never been a big "OD" guy, but over the years, when I've had to use an OD, I've always preferred Maxon.. especially the OD808X, and their hidden gem, the RTO700. I also used to have a Maxon "Stereo Box" (Splitter/Doubler) when I first started playing in stereo, and I've always used my Maxon GE-601 EQ as a boost for my solid state amps.. So, I'd say I'm a big fan of Maxon (especially the older stuff)!
Love when you make videos! I’m telling you, you’d be in the big 3 metal guitarists on UA-cam if you posted more. Love seeing it. Also hope your back is still holding up!
The Maxon ST9Pro+ Super Tube is very satisfying. I run mine into a Mesa Mini Rectifier 25W on Modern mode, and a Marshall 4x12 with a Jackson USA Custom DK2H. It can easily help you get those Deicide OSDM or Exodus/SOD thrash tones
Great video dude! I’ve become a big fan of Ibanez and Maxon pedals from that era. I did a shootout of all of the Super Metal pedals on my channel a few months back, and that’s become my favorite circuit of theirs.
@@killertone Thanks man! Here’s the link if you want to see it. Surprisingly, based on the comments, most people seem to like the current Super Metal Mini the best. 🤷🏻♂️
The Maxon has this for lack of better terms has this pick attack sound in the upper mids with the Marshall I dig. Tighter, I guess. Awesome riffs as always, good to see that right wrist still hammers.
Love the boosted 2203. Surprising how “metal” is sounds with only a boost… and of course Jason’s right hand. Boosted, doubled in a mix, I prefer the clarity and punch of the JMP. Both are great amps. Great pedals.
Yeah man I love the orange channel! Orange to modern, gain around 1 o’clock, bass at noon just above, mids about 11 o’clock, treble just about 12:30. Since presence doesn’t really work in that mode until you crank it I just leave it at noon. I’m always on diode rectifiers and bold setting.
i'm just here for the riffs
Same
This dude has the best tones on UA-cam.
thanks a lot!
Hell yea! One might say…Killer!
I was just about to say the same thing! That JMP tone is fucking INSANE!!!!!!!
@MartyDadRiffs The tones he gets from the Jubilee are amazing too.
Fact
Super Tube + JMP> old FEAR FACTORY tone !
Good Job Dude
DUDE. Please make that solo record!!!
Even just at your intro video I knew you would be worth listening to
Your riffs sound great much love
ST9+ Pro just because Cannibal Corpse! 😂 Excellent song writing as always brother and the orchestration of those riffs damn!
Thanks a lot man!

both sounded great - the ST9 seems to add some nice top end bite to the Recto - great tones and chugs

Something about the Maxon just does it for me. Amazing playing as always and your mixes are always insane! 🤘🤘🤘
I just ordered one an hour ago..the price was down to $122 brand new so grabbed it quickly! As always you have the best riffs and right hand !
the recto with either sounds glorious
My conclusion. Would be killer with each recorded, but double tracked. Great riffs!
Awesome demo as always Jason 🤘
You always just kick ass! Cheers man!
Thanks man cheers!!

Thanks! I have a Super Metal pedal from the Master Series. I will definitely check out your video on that.

nice...I have a 79 JMP 50 Watt Combo..Here in Austin...dig it..I use the Ts9
Incredible riffage and sound wise top.
Both sound incredible! Great riffage!
thanks!

ST9 Pro+ all day long...love the killer riffage 🤘🤘🤘
Holy crap that was awesome sounding. How was the Mesa eq set? It’s hard to see on those Mesa knobs as usual. Thanks for the vid!
I preferred the Super Tube 🤘
Mesa & Maxon FTW
so thick but still tight, right? Hard to beat a boosted Recto IMO
@@killertone exactly. Thick but still articulate. I wonder how that Maxon pedal would do for me as a boost for bass(?) 🤔
@@GillRigged I do believe they make a bass version of it!

Great video per usual my dude
thanks man
Nice new intro!
Thanks!
Great job, sounds killer! Inspiring as always. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks man 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️
DR sounds evil good.
That Marshall tone is incredible!! I will start saving money.🤟🤟🤟
Tuning? Amazing riffs!
Thanks 🙏🏻!! Drop C tuning.
I like that extra top end bite of the Maxon. I like it searing and nasty.
it definitely does that thing!
The Maxon sounded better to me but both are awesome.
Marshall all the way for my tastes
with Marshal I prefer IBANEZ SUPER TUBE with MESA MAXON :) but both of them sounds f...kng great
ST9 into the Mesa 🫨
What settings do you typically run your orange channel? One of the best tones of all time that old school orange!
On my dual recto revG and in the user manual if we use the RedToVintage mode the two presence knobs work, each has different frequency values !
So sick!!..
GAS 🤣 I have both these amps, but neither of these pedals!! I actually liked the Super Tube more.. A little more rounded and less compressed maybe?
ST9 Pro+ or 808X??
I would definitely go ST9P+ for what I like
Cannibal Corpse uses the ST9 Pro + in classic mode (NO LOW MODE) with level hair past noon, tone hair under 11am, drive at 1pm, mid hair under 11am.
Hmmm this video shows Rob using the low boost with the drive low and volume higher ua-cam.com/video/jjQ_szQd1rQ/v-deo.htmlsi=VcOD4loirYPeKsP7
@@killertone ua-cam.com/video/JMooI-UjS4M/v-deo.htmlsi=88Fztf5O8GMqR7n4 - apparently those are the settings but 🤷♂️
@@killertone could be possible the way he sets it has changed and or Ola fucked up ! Lol - Geez Ola !
That St9+ adds some serious in your face CONK
Yup CONK is right!
Yes, solo record.
