It turns every Amp into a super version of itself. Nice!
That tone is NASTYYY 🔥🔥🤘🏼
I love this pedal.. freaking great. Will never leave the pedalboard
Thank you Kyle, enjoy the insight into different equipment you test out!
sounds great - great job Kyle as usual
Sounds really good! 👌🏻
So happy I pulled the trigger on it. Just got mine the other day. now I don’t have to use my signed fortin maxon custom shop as much 😜
Also hate the signature Fortin chirp/clank, got one of these and was super pleased with how manageable it is with the tone knob. Way more versatile than it may get credit for. Unless the prices of these get as outrageous as the Maxons, it’s probably a forever pedal.
Looks like they already are on Reverb!
Sounds awesome man
Awesome!
I was lucky to get one as well and love it!
Hell yes! They're a lot of fun!
Awesome video and thank you for sharing 👍👍
Nissssssssssssssssssce 🍻
It definitely has that "it goes to 11" thing going on!
Hey Kyle, ever try the Keeley modded Metal Zone? I ran one years ago with a Mesa Triple Rec Reborn. I thought is was a sick boost.Cannibal Corpse stated they ran this pedal years ago as a boost. I also ran the Keeley modded pedal with a peavey 5150 and a Mesa Mark IV. The only other boost I had at the time was a Maxon OD 808. I preferred the Keeley Metal Zone. Great content as usual!👍🏻
I dont always boost my 5150 with a Metalzone but when I do, I get Cannibal Corpse vibes.
@@massttrshrdrharmonicminor2002 Not just a Metal Zone but a Keeley Modded Metal Zone!🤘🏻
Man I was so tempted to grab one when they first came out. Regret not pulling the trigger but the Duality DX and the Mudkiller were above it on the list of new pedals to buy.
Killer video Kyle🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Thanks my man! With these limited run pedals, usually always a safe bet to order now and resell for what you paid or more later if you don't dig it
@@belligerentamateur yes I whiffed on this one brother 🤣
I’ve got mudkiller.. it’s an okay pedal, fortin Ibanez is better in my opinion.. now I’m on the waiting list for duality dx, I’ve got a lot of OD pedals.. fortin Ibanez is in my top 3.. as of right now!! Pepers dirty tree is #1!!
Kyle, the Catalinbread modified Maxon OD 808 is also amazing.
Hell yeah Kyle!
I have to get this pedla kype i thank you for making good honest reviews of amps and pedals
Out of more then 40 boost pedals my fortin modded tubescreamer is insane 🤘🤘🤘
Them Bushido Code riffs going hard!
The DSL tones brings me back
0:55 Kinda deserves respect how you do the disclaimer over and over with perfect diction in every video instead of just copypasting the same clip.
LOVE this pedal !
Me too!
@@belligerentamateur it reminds me a bit of the EQD Plumes, especially on mode 2
That thing is fucking rad! Damn it I want one too lol! Great video, my favorite was through the Triple rectifier hands down.
This is basically the same circuit as the Maxon custom shop od9, the agreement I guess expired between Fortin and Maxon and well I'm sure money talks and Mike Fortin decided to sell more units under the Ibanez name, so now it's just a matter if they make more to help balance the market out from price gauging, but honestly this pedal is worth the hype , to the untrained ear some people may not hear a difference but definitely its there and in the recording definitely gives you that extra juice, I usually don't care for alot of Fortin products but this one is a keeper
Same boat here, Really loce this one
Awesome video as always - How does this pedal behave with the SLO? Very curious about what brutal tones can be achieved.
Thanks man! Haven't tried it with the SLO honestly. I imagine it would work well as the SLO needs some help in the mids, IMO
@@belligerentamateur I can’t wait for the video!! 😎🙏🏼
Hey, Kyle. Have you tried the 5150IIIS 100 watt? I owned two (made in 2016). It was the best sounding tube amp I've ever touched.. Shit happened, and I had to sell them. When I was able to get a new one, they were on backorder for months. When they finally came out (2021), I got one, but it sounded nothing like my old ones. Plus, they were a lot noisier, and they even used cheaper parts (while adding $500 to the pricetag). I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who noticed, and also if that's why the 50 watt got so popular..
I wish they would make these more as a regular offering. I understand why they make them limited but it sucks when people buy them up then sell them for double. Some of us just want to rock 🎸 them.
100% agree with this
@@belligerentamateur it took me forever to get a hold of khdk paranormal 2 I was one the last people to get mine in on order. I was so pissed🤬 that people just grabbed them and then just hocked them on reverb for 2 or 3 times as much.and I didn't even get mine at that point. 😡
YES
You have got to demo the TS9DX
aweshome
Hey Kyle, that intro riff you have at the beginning of every video.
Is there by chance a full song behind that?
Because my god, it's brutal.
Side note, what do you think of something like this pedal (Fortin ts9) vs a plumes?
I run my plumes into my front end, in a week it'll be running into a mt15.
Do you think my drive is good and proper or am I possibly missing out on something!
Thanks!
Hey man! Yes, that's my band Bushido Code! The song is Aftermath! YUou can find it here on UA-cam and all major streaming platforms!
As far as this vs the plumes, the Fortin has way more output and tightens up the amp a lot more than the Plumes. The Plumes has a little more versatility, but overall I wasn't a fan of the pedal as it didn't really tighten the low end.
@@belligerentamateur follow up. Checked you guys out, absolutely killer.
I'll tell some of my friends to look ya'll up.
great video. i dig it. would it be safe to say that it would actually be very comparable to a EQD plumes or something like the Ages OD?
It really is more of a TS9 with more output and broader mids, doesn't really sound like the others mentioned in my opinion.
@@belligerentamateur for sure!
Massive!
Thats a pretty sick tube screamer!! I really, really love the old JCM2000 series DSL amps!! I honestly am not that much of a fan of the new series. They're decent amps but not very good MARSHALL amps if ya catch my drift.
I had both the DSL100H and this DSL50 at the same time and honestly, the differences were extremely subtle. I think the new ones just get a bad rep for being made in Vietnam, or wherever they're made now
@@belligerentamateur I could hear and feel a significant difference myself, but I'd certainly be willing to try one again. I'm in the midst of planning out a mini head collection and I thought about the DSL20 for a minute but.... I think I really want the JCM800...curse my expensive tastes. Keep up the great work man!! Hope all is well!!
Hey man! I need help! I thought you did a demo of the earhquaker plumes pedal, but I can't find it. Looked 9 times now through all your vids, and I can't find it. Anyway, I've been using an OCD to boost my amps letely, due to the absolute fullness it adds, and the fact the volume on it only needs to be at 3/4. It sounds way bigger than my tubescreamers. So my question is... would I like the plumes, or is just another TS clone??
Watching this video made me love my gear more...🤣
Metal Bro Matt Damon :)
Wow! so fucking good!!! 😍😍🤘🤘💯💯🎸🎸
How do all you guys use these overdrives without a noise gate , even with my noise gate on I'm still getting noise you all don't when my overdrive is on ,is it possible my noise gate isn't good enough , it's joyo noise gate , it's also a joyo zombie amp , and my overdrive is the walrus ages
got the fortin od9 and now ts9 :)
How do they compare
@@Wedontdeservedogsbro i have both as well. The ibanez is a touch brighter with what feels like a bit more output.
@@sk8125 thanks. I’ve had the oD9 twice but sold it both times and currently have the TS9 so I was definitely wondering.
Dam it is pretty Crushing on the stealth
The mesa sounds cool too, more thrashy
Once you boosted that Marshall I was surprised the difference it made
For me, the DSL 50 sounded the best out of all three. Makes me want to look out for one💰😢 (I currently use a 5150II)
@@tatelmarcelino4846 yea I feel you, they all sounded good.
The mesa was good, but something about the other 2 for me, at least for playing alone.
In a band setting I could see the mesa fitting in good
@@massttrshrdrharmonicminor2002 yeah, the signature rounder mid presence and smoothness of Rectifiers definitely is an advantage live
@@tatelmarcelino4846 I only tried a low wattage version
Real thrashy sounding, even if that sounds cheesy saying.
In the realm of Municipal Waste type tones
Korn got them to sound crazy, I would they are responsible for the direction of mainstream Heavy tones today.
Hey what's up Kyle I own the Ibanez ts9dx turbo Tube Screamer. You know it's got the Keeley mod as one of the settings and then there are three other settings including the original ts9 circuit how does it compare in your opinion to the Fortin modded ts9
No idea man, never played your modded pedal to compare.
I’ve got the Keeley Red Dirt which supposedly has all the mods in it. Just sayin. 😉
@@belligerentamateur well its a stock pedal the ts9dx turbo tubescreamer. Has 4 settings origanal ts9 circuit, the keely modd and then 2 other modd circuits that are modds that other well know dudes modded and they just made the ts9 and added an extra knob to switch between the 4 modes. Honesly though.all the others besides the original ts9 circuit just add more fuzz and gain and imo there not great sounding but the original ts9 setting is my favorite.
Not a big fan, it sounded a bit thin but that could be my speakers. I prefer the fuller tone of the SD-1w on C mode.
Digging the armchair Marshall head off to your left
Hey Kyle, whats the Ohms on the V30's and total impedance?
Im not kyle but my mesa 2×12 cab with v30s is a 8 ohm cab. Each speaker is 4 ohms i believe
So u cant use any heads that are above 8 ohms but most amps have a switch to change ohms from 4 to 8 to 16 to pair with most cabs. But there are heads i believe arent compatible. Kyle bull woukd have more knowledge on this then me but i own tons of heads and cabs and as long as u dont use a head that the ohms are more then what the cab is rated for youll be fine. Never pair a head to a cab if the heads ohms are higher then the cab. Youll blow your speakers. Probly fine on low volume but still would never recommend miss matching ohms with heads and cabs. Hope that helps. I know kyle has so many comments its hard to answer them all but he is great about eventually answering everyones questions if there not asinine. Really hope that helps. I also have a youtube channel with tons of great content. I wont mention it on Kyle's platform unless u ask. I respect kyle and would like to not piss him off.
I hear some Metallica tone!! Love it. I need to spend some resl money on a better amp someday.
Where can you even buy this when it was released?
Directly from Godlyke Distribution
I was just thinking, who asked this silly question? It was me.. anyways. Bought it today!
Capn Crunch.
You'll really notice the loss of depth in tone when he changed to the EMGs.
Hey Kyle if you flip this let me buy it 🙏
Get the marshall of the arm rest😭
Never
Them prices are stupid for these modded pedals . Shit ill stick with a Tony Pepers Dirty Tree for 130 . Lol
Well, that's a completely different cicruit and it doesn't work with every amp, but I get what you're saying
@@belligerentamateur oh yeah your right . It sounded awesome tho and I appreciate you doing the demo of it. I directly looked it up cuz I liked what I heard and that sucker was over 500 used . I was like wtf . Lol I got that Dirty Tree with my EVH 50 watt 6l6 on the blue channel and it's brutal. I recently got a dv77 speaker too and paired it up with the g12h in the evh 2x12 cab and made it sound even better. Have you tried out the dv77 speakers yet?
@@belligerentamateur I also have the Fortin zuul and spliff and they work great with my setup.
Well I see em on the godlyke site for 230 now. Lol year later.
From what I've seen no screamers do more than an actual distortion
Sounds like a stock OD-9 to my ears.
You may want to check out a ts9 again. They're quite different.
Hey, Kyle.. Shut up and play.. lol..
What's the use of showing a distortion pedal through an amp that is already distorting so much that you can hardly tell the difference? You are basically using it as booster without even trying the pedal's own distortion.
I think you're new here
Dude, cuz it’s not a distortion… it’s meant to be a boost for a high gain amp. It tightens the low end for chugging and adds saturation. He’s using it appropriately.
Anything labeled "Fortin" sounds more Brutal.
The pedal sounds awesome, but I hate this ridiculous “limited edition” approach to selling pedals. Either commit to making them for a reasonable period of time or don’t bother. The pedal market has become laughably gross.
That's how they control supply, raise the price, and make the resale value high enough to compete less with the sale of new items. People are also more likely to buy if the resale value is high... It's a bit of dance, but how things work now.
@@XChristianNoirX There is nothing more rock n roll than a $500 pedal on the secondary market, of a $200 pedal, that’s a mod of a $100 pedal. It’s understandable though because Ibanez and Fortin don’t have the infrastructure to manufacture pedals at scale
@@Whizzinby777 👍🏻😂👍🏻
U REALLY LIKE TO TALK dont u....just dive in n riff
U REALLY LIKE WEIRD CAPS don't u....just dive in n type
