Fs. Revalis gale would be way better if not for tulip pumping, Siddons ability is useless, and rijju’s is just a worse, smaller urbosa’s fury. Yunobos is the only good one.

    • @peenos5206

@@informationnotavailable6433 Sidon's ability is far from useless. Outside of the obvious protection from a single hit, it also protects you from depths mountain's heat, and qualifies for the boost in damage for zora weapons. With the ability, you're wet for over a minute, if I recall. Not to mention, the ability has a pretty short cooldown.

    • @informationnotavailable6433
      @informationnotavailable6433 Рік тому +21

@@peenos5206 Just because you can use it doesn’t mean you should. Zora weapons are simply not viable when compared to Royal or knights weapons, not to mention frost gear, puffshroom+eightfold blade one shots etc. Also the heat thing is negligible, armor is very easy to get and while I tried using Sidon for a while the fact that you have to walk over to him just for 10ish seconds of protection makes it horrible.

    • @peenos5206
      @peenos5206 Рік тому +24

@@informationnotavailable6433 Zora weapons are very viable. There's a reason many consider them to be some of the strongest weapons in the game. Slap a silver lynel horn onto a basic zora spear, use sidon's ability, and you're doing something close to 130 damage per hit. You can also use things like molduga jaws and whatnot, with anything that boosts bone efficiency for even more damage. I'm not saying other weapons aren't bad, but not everyone wants to sneak attack everything they see. Takes the fun out of fighting. And as annoying as it is to chase down the sages, it's not some monumental task, and the reward is pretty good if you haven't significantly upgraded any armor.

Here’s my idea, I’ve been working on it for a while:
All the actions on the d pad except whistling are useless unless you hold down the button, so instead (only while the sage abilities are activated) make tapping the d pad buttons activate the sage abilities: tap up for riju, left for Sidon, down for yonobo and right for Tulin (Hold down to whistle, teleporting all sages to you instantly). Mineru would stay the same, because going up to her makes sense, or they could even replace the map rune with mineru. And then they could also have contextual ways to activate. They already have two, pressing a in midair for Tulin and a while in a vehicle for yonobo. They just need to add the other two, press a with a bow out for riju and a while aiming a weapon for Sidon (not gaurding bc that would be parrying). EDIT 1: Sidon’s ability could also be used with ZL+A when you dont have a shield out. This would be especially useful for two handed weapons and spears. EDIT 2: The map rune could be replaced with a way of commanding the sages. It could freeze time like recall, then allow you to aim at an enemy, and press one of the face buttons for the sages to attack that enemy, or ZL and ZR for Mineru’s left and right hand. They could also use the d pad to summon or dismiss sages while using this ability. Pressing R could make all sages target a single enemy until you press R again.

Sido: ZL + A to activate the water shield which will last until link uses the ability or it resets
Yunobo: R + A, right before throwing an item you press A to switch to yunobo. OR R + up arrow and yunobo's ability is an item in the material list so you can choose to activate his ability when you try and throw an item
Tulin: works pretty well for the most part, appears when paragliding. Could add a feature where holding X activates him and then you press A to gust

    40g cocoa powder
    50g white chocolate
    50g milk chocolate
    3 large eggs
    275g golden caster sugar
    Method
    STEP 1
Cut 185g unsalted butter into small cubes and tip into a medium bowl. Break 185g dark chocolate into small pieces and drop into the bowl.
    STEP 2
Fill a small saucepan about a quarter full with hot water, then sit the bowl on top so it rests on the rim of the pan, not touching the water. Put over a low heat until the butter and chocolate have melted, stirring occasionally to mix them.
    STEP 3
Remove the bowl from the pan. Alternatively, cover the bowl loosely with cling film and put in the microwave for 2 minutes on High. Leave the melted mixture to cool to room temperature.
    STEP 4
While you wait for the chocolate to cool, position a shelf in the middle of your oven and turn the oven on to 180C/160C fan/gas 4.
    STEP 5
Using a shallow 20cm square tin, cut out a square of kitchen foil (or non-stick baking parchment) to line the base. Tip 85g plain flour and 40g cocoa powder into a sieve held over a medium bowl. Tap and shake the sieve so they run through together and you get rid of any lumps.
    STEP 6
Chop 50g white chocolate and 50g milk chocolate into chunks on a board.
    STEP 7
Break 3 large eggs into a large bowl and tip in 275g golden caster sugar. With an electric mixer on maximum speed, whisk the eggs and sugar. They will look thick and creamy, like a milk shake. This can take 3-8 minutes, depending on how powerful your mixer is. You’ll know it’s ready when the mixture becomes really pale and about double its original volume. Another check is to turn off the mixer, lift out the beaters and wiggle them from side to side. If the mixture that runs off the beaters leaves a trail on the surface of the mixture in the bowl for a second or two, you’re there.
    STEP 8
Pour the cooled chocolate mixture over the eggy mousse, then gently fold together with a rubber spatula. Plunge the spatula in at one side, take it underneath and bring it up the opposite side and in again at the middle. Continue going under and over in a figure of eight, moving the bowl round after each folding so you can get at it from all sides, until the two mixtures are one and the colour is a mottled dark brown. The idea is to marry them without knocking out the air, so be as gentle and slow as you like.
    STEP 9
Hold the sieve over the bowl of eggy chocolate mixture and resift the cocoa and flour mixture, shaking the sieve from side to side, to cover the top evenly.
    STEP 10
Gently fold in this powder using the same figure of eight action as before. The mixture will look dry and dusty at first, and a bit unpromising, but if you keep going very gently and patiently, it will end up looking gungy and fudgy. Stop just before you feel you should, as you don’t want to overdo this mixing.
    STEP 11
Finally, stir in the white and milk chocolate chunks until they’re dotted throughout.
    STEP 12
Pour the mixture into the prepared tin, scraping every bit out of the bowl with the spatula. Gently ease the mixture into the corners of the tin and paddle the spatula from side to side across the top to level it.
    STEP 13
Put in the oven and set your timer for 25 mins. When the buzzer goes, open the oven, pull the shelf out a bit and gently shake the tin. If the brownie wobbles in the middle, it’s not quite done, so slide it back in and bake for another 5 minutes until the top has a shiny, papery crust and the sides are just beginning to come away from the tin. Take out of the oven.
    STEP 14
Leave the whole thing in the tin until completely cold, then, if you’re using the brownie tin, lift up the protruding rim slightly and slide the uncut brownie out on its base. If you’re using a normal tin, lift out the brownie with the foil (or parchment). Cut into quarters, then cut each quarter into four squares and finally into triangles.
    STEP 15
They’ll keep in an airtight container for a good two weeks and in the freezer for up to a month

Sidon activates upon a-press when you're holding your weapon/shield
Yunobo activates when you press a without holding anything
Riju activates upon a-press when holding out your bow
And the whistle should only call mineru, who can be mounted as usual, by getting close and pressing a (this will override any other champion that may be activated by pressing a)

Daruk's protections can get you out of tricky situations in botw. Example: that forgotten temple with the mother goddess statue. Besides, who needs ammunition that explodes when you have the same thing already (and can also be used to launch you across the map when done correctly)
Mipha's grace is basically a permanent fairy with a cooldown. While Sidon is only useful early game if you are in warmer areas without any heat protection (if you don't have any for some reason)
Revali's gale is better than whatever that child does.
urbosa's fury is far better than the other child's single lightning strike.
And The bike is basically horse but better and needs to be "fed" to keep going. Yet some people state that mineru's only purpose is APPLE PICKING

The sage abilities generally hold more usability (except Mipha’s grace that shit was op), especially in Totk’s map but the ease of use on the champions abilities was simply unmatched, there was no fiddling around with the AI or dropping a sick combo so you can run around the enemy to activate an ability. You needed urbosa’s fury? Charge attack; need a hit tanked? Just raise your shield; need a cliff scaled? Revali got you. Totk feels more clunky despite the vast overworld improvements. The only real benefit to the sage abilities is their reuse, you aren’t waiting 10-15 mins for another chance to use the champions abilities, just like 10 secs or something

There would be the “let’s go!” Prompt but you wouldn’t need to be next to the sage. Tulin’s would be by gliding and Riju’s would be while aiming your bow but Sidon and Yunobo would get a bit more complicated, maybe for Sidon it would be when you are holding your shield out you can hold A to activate his? This would be a bit weird but maybe Yunobo’s would be while throwing an item you could press A.

Tough toss up honestly. The Champion abilities had no downsides; they were just really good. Meanwhile, the Sage abilities have some neat stuff that sometimes outclass the champions, but they have the drawback of difficulty of use.
I think it ultimately comes down to a playstyle thing. Considering most of my TOTK deaths happen when I get slapped by enemies I didn't expect/see until seconds before they hit, I lean towards the champions.
As a bonus, I also liked idleing with the champion abilities for fun(running around with D's protection, etc). Kinda hard to do with the sages.

  • @HS-mn6jc
    @HS-mn6jc Рік тому

I think, given the context of their respective games, the Champion abilities are better. BotW has limited vertical mobility options, so Revali’s Gale is a godsend. Urbosa’s Fury is perfect for taking out large enemies (or groups of small ones), but it isn’t overpowered due to its limited use. Daruk’s Protection is perfect for how it’s activated, although it is technically outclassed by Sidon’s ability, so I’ll give TotK that. Finally, Mipha’s Grace, which is probably a little *too* overpowered but BotW also has a LOT of enemies that can just one-hit you (Guardians in particular), and it’s usually the first ability most players get, so it feels like a natural power progression in that game.
I like the Sage abilities don’t get me wrong, but some of them just don’t feel as powerful or useful in the context or TotK as the Champion abilities did in BotW. Tulin’s Gust is 100% the best one in TotK, while the other four kinda feel like they could have been tweaked a bit to be more actively useful in more situations.

BOTW Champion abilities are just better for me, it's nice having the ability to use Sidon's ability 3 times, Riju's lighting by charging your attack, be healed while adding 5 extra hearts in death, and having a self made updraft by jumping and they're more memorable.

  • @swiftly_produced2694
    @swiftly_produced2694 Рік тому +1

How are Tulin and Sidon's ability better? I have never used Sidon's ability. And Riju's ability only uses a bow, while Urbosa's abilty is used more often when fighting, and you can always fire an electric arrow and electric arrows are exactly the same as Riju's ability when the terrain is wet (which isn't always, but it's still a substitute for Riju, while Riju isn't a substitute for Urbosa) Yunobo is the only ability that I like more, because you can use it airborne and you feel like such a cool guy when fighting an enemy in the sky, it feels like you're in an action movie, escpically when fighting the rock snakes in Death Mountain or Koga in the Depths, but that's rare, because it's hard to hit enemies and it, so it's better to just avoid them. Mining with Yunobo also sucks, because every piece of ore flies everywhere. Daruk is used way more often, also because it's used automatically

I don't understand why people think the champion abilities are worse, like, at all. We have
    Daruk: free parry for attacks
    Vs
    Yubobo: attack for rocks/rock enemies
Revali: massive jump without needing to climb
    Vs
    Tulin: paraglider boost
    Mipha: Revive w/ extra hearts
    vs
Sidon: honestly I don't know what Sidon is used for, maybe boosting zora weapons?
Urbosa: AoE attack that shocks enemies
    vs
Riju: specific lightning strike in an area, small AoE around it
Honestly, I think the champion abilities are vastly superior, I just think they don't feel as useful because you get them at the end of their respective dungeon.
