He died when I was 2 years old I found his music through Good Will Hunting my favorite movie and I don't regret one of greatest artists and musicians I've ever heard definitely better than anything from my generation or any generation for that matter his music has saved my life God knows how many times and I'm still finding great sounds by him such a great talent R.I.P.
He was a great man plagued with feelings of inadequacy. I want to say so much more but fear that saying more will be counter productive. I'm so happy you have found Elliot's music and love that you have connected with his message.

Quite often I come across an Elliott Smith song that I'm not initially that keen on. Then after a few listens find it really grows on me and I find the uniqueness and beauty in it. This ones no exception.
Amazon has a commercial out right now that uses this melody to sell mail order plastic shit now that none of us can leave our houses. At least the rich are still getting richer

No... No I disagree... It's not "cute". Elliot may have had the awkward sense of humor to think it kinda was... but, the lyrics come across as more pained and desperate for help than 'cute'.

I was just a few months old my gf recently got me into him this year and I haven't been able to stop listening it's so inspiring and painful
