    Thank you for the instructions attaching the mechanicals! Mine did not come with instructions and your video is the only one I could find. Easy to follow and makes perfect sense. THANK YOU!

    Probably the coolest lazy Susan even seen, like the rustic features. Surprised
    the MUZ shop dog was not featured at the close, for a little celebratory whirl!! Nicely done!!

      Larry Banda thanks that would have been a good ending but the shop Dog is dizzy and lazy enough....😂😂😂

    How do you find the center of the barrel top? Center L / center W of the middle barrel top piece? What are you using for finish. It looks great!

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  Рік тому +1

      There is a list of links in the description below including the finish I used. As for the center… I know they are not a perfect circle so just get as close as possible. I used a long ruler to find mine. Have a fun build. 👍👍

    You know, I've never install the Lazy Susan but I was wondering how the two pieces came together. Now I know. This thing turned out great. I love the look of old tattered Oak

      A Glimpse Inside Thanks Chris. Very easy make but I think it would make a great gift or handy in the kitchen.

    I'm working on a pair of wine barrel stave Adirondack chairs and end table and used that same trick gluing the barrel head together. The dang boards were so warped it's nowhere near flat though...
    Your lazy suzan came out really nice, I'll have to add that to my list. ;-)

      Thanks. I have a wine barrel table video out if you want to check it out... DYI Wine Barrel Table also cheese board, frame, salad set and a serving tray, all from wine barrel wood. Thanks for watching

    Great video! Any suggestions for keeping the barrel top from warping? Does it have to be disassembled and glued? Or will bracing the back keep it together. The ones I have come out of the barrel flat but after a few weeks dry out and warp. Thanks!

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching. Yes warping is a problem. Make sure when you oil it or put a food safe finish that you apply it everywhere and let it dry elevated off your work table so it dries evenly. Putting a back brace should also help too.

    I made a lazy Susan using a bourbon barrel.. About 6 weeks later, the whole thing was cupped so bad that it would not turn anymore? Have you run into this? What am I doing wrong???

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  3 роки тому

      Did you put a finish or sealer on all sides?

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  3 роки тому

      If you you didn’t, what will happen is one side will draw in moisture and the other side won’t. Causing warping.

    That barrel wood looks fantastic. One of a kind. You make it look so easy. What are you making next? By the way is bread from the Muz bakery? Looks like sour dough.

    Terrific video...so helpful. I'm really interested in your I bar clamps. I looked at several online but hesitant to pull the trigger. Can you tell me the brand that you're using to clamp your whiskey barrel lid back together?

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  5 років тому +1

      Thank you so much. The clamps that I have are Jet amzn.to/2YlwFqR . I compared them to best clamp and did a lot of research on both. they are very similar but at the end the Jet won the review battle. I'm happy with them once to get the hang of how to open and close. Also keep the bar clean and they work better. Thanks for watching.

    In the video, looks like you skip over the printing with the sander. How do you get the wood under the printing to match the smoothness of the rest and avoid having a little plateau higher than the rest of the head? Thanks!

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  5 років тому

      When sanding the top, you really don't want to sand a lot anyways cause you want to keep the natural look of the barrel top. So you just do a light sanding on the entire and pay special attention when sanding the print. Go real light just enough to get it sort of smooth without ruining the print. Best of luck.

    Would just glueing be enough for a serving tray with handles? Or do you think it would require a backing board. I was thinking just 1/8 floor boards as I dont want the base too thick

      I do wonder how much of the finish I'll need for 2 barrel tops. You've been very helpful.

    • @TheMuzShop

      A pint will be plenty to give 3-4 coats for two tops.
