The lad in the Universal carrier wants to get his battle order on correctly! The Universal Carrier towing the 6 pdr A/T gun was in general use in the British Army until at least 1951 when it was superseded by the Oxford Carrier towing the 17pdr A/T gun. Six of these were issued per Battalion of infantry.
@@andrewd666 At about the same time we had the 17 pdr all ranks were issued with the Energa anti tank rifle grenade launcher. Yes, another piece of kit to carry. Although issued we never carried the entrenching tool but based on the experience of the Regiment in Italy, amongst a section of ten men two pickaxes and eight British Army standard issue spade/shovel (a useful tool) were carried. Happy days!
