The moment I clicked on this video I could feel Frigg’s presence, as if to say, “This is important, listen carefully.” Your second lesson has been one that She has been encouraging me to develop recently- the idea of a Queen as a hostess, a governor, a stern, thoughtful, and fair maternal presence in her community- all of that, she’s been pushing me gently to develop. Good hospitality is one of the most ancient values that people across many cultures have embraced, and having Lady Frigg to teach me has been amazing.

    1. I want to visit Iceland and Scandinavia more than ever.
    2. I was raised in a tight-knit Christian community, but left in my 20s. I'm so happy to see so many people building communities based on the old ways.
    3. Recently, I've been spending all my free time reading and watching Norse pagan content. It seems like there has been an explosion of interest in the past 5 years or so. I love hearing everyone's stories and insights!
    4. I agree. The internet, consumerism, globalism, etc. have had profound effects, both negative and positive. I try to take some time everyday to read Havamal, stoic philosophy, or something else meaningful to meditate on. And I've been trying to go hiking more, Tokyo is surrounded by beautiful mountains for hiking.
    5. Havamal 47 hit me pretty hard when I first read it, especially the last half. A supportive community really does make you feel rich.
Thank you for this video, and I wish you all the best in your wanderings Jacob!

Something I was told years ago by a young woman from Denmark was that each person we meet in life can teach us at least one new thing. When she said it it made me wonder if she was repeating wisdom from her homeland so ancient it used to be uttered by her ancestors whom we might dub Vikings.

That was beautiful man! Truly inspiring. Thank you for filming this on such a breathtaking location! Never been to the US myself, but I am trying to find ways and save money and make it possible to travel and explore this gorgeous country. Perhaps I am applying the same method like you did on your trip to Germany. Planting seeds and then harvesting the fruits. I really like your determination, mindset and honesty, and I've been following your channel for a few months now. Great videos, editing, WISDOM and friendly vibe. What more can a person wish for? I wish you all the possible best on your path as a Pagan and in life. All of this is coming from a guy living in Bulgaria, struggling to survive and trying to find ways to become a better writer, a better artist and a better person in general. Thank you and keep on keeping on! Hail to the gods and hail to the goddesses!

I found your channel because I was searching for pagan videos a few months ago Clicked on 1 watched it for a few minutes then didn't think about it again till yesterday when I found your video on Odin. Now I've watched a lot of them and you said people don't worship or celebrate Thor much that got me thinking about mjolnir and how I going to carve one. Long story short I finished work at midnight got home walked outside and asked Thor to guild me in my creation of a mjolnir pendent. I put on your vidoes abput Thor and started creating my mjolnir...It's 3am and I finished it up. I went outside and realized that it had been raining within the time I started the mjolnir to when I finished it. I thanked Thor.
It felt like only about 30 mins had passed and it was 3 hours lol.

That ending was hilarious. I was vibing to the end credit music as I normally do after watching your videos. I try to use it as a mini meditation to take in what was just presented. I actually laughed out loud from the shock of the sudden "stop, I forgot something". Not to say that as a bad thing I just wanted to say I found it hilarious because you never do thatin your videos and I was totally caught off guard! It was also the funniest and best reason for a reflection to be interrupted. Also heck yeah! This is exactly what religion should be! Love your videos, love your energy! Your influence has changed my life, I found Descended from Odin because of you. Through that community and through the inspiration your gatherings gave me and many of my new friends, I took a step towards finding my own local community. This week I finished a NYS locals norse pagan group so that we could make friends and soon plan our own gatherings. I've met wonderful people so far and as I've been telling them, there is always room at the table for the friends we haven't met yet! Thank you for being here, making this content, and sharing the love and guidance you've gained along your journey. Until the hall and always my friend, skål.

A lot of people look to the past to only see violence, death, and suffering. What I choose to look for is that we as humans have always wanted laughter, happiness, and companionship. We just don't tend to write/record those things.
The iron/Bronze Age ancestors ultimately looked for those same things! And if we look deep enough we can find those things in the faiths of old.

*Allow me to share something with you all to explain that this faith is very much alive!* 😊
Did you know that here at my coast in Norway, we still speak like 60% of the same tongue as they did in 750 A.D? Same with the way we write. From my grandfather’s 370 year old house and all the way down to the sea, there are viking graves and items👌🏻. Other Norwegians barely understand us, and there is some very good reasons for that. The coast that I live at, has been called the coast of savage fishermen for 100s of years. During Norway’s 434 year long period under Danish control, our coast was not effected that much by the big changes. Not even when the Swedish made us union from 1814 - 1905. The sea, forests and our specific location saved us from a lot of changes which the rest of Norway had no chance to withstand. The old ways are kept deep within our hearts. Traditions and life itself is by the ancient ways at my coast. Parts of Denmark, Sweden have also kept this faith. Especially Iceland! Honor The Gods & Take Care! 🇳🇴🇮🇸🇸🇪🇩🇰🍻🍄

  • @Boosted_C8

My grandfathers family came from Norway, and my grandmother was part Swedish. I’m a tall guy 6’7 and pretty broad and I’ve always been called a Viking, very fitting 😂. Growing up I was around Christianity and was never into it or believed it much with all due respect to believers of that religion. When I was old enough to know better, and was beginning to really lean toward Asatru, I almost felt ashamed or crazy for it. When I watch shows like Vikings, or read about Norse paganism I always feel a connection like something is trying to speak to me. I remember when I was an ultra runner. There was an instance I was training on a long run, just exhausted, and I saw a crow and I felt this immense power in me and finished that long run with a personal record. There’s also been other things that have made me feel like the gods were speaking to me or sending me signs. Today I discovered your channel and watched some videos and made the commitment to Asatru. This channel has been extremely educational to me and a great place to get started. I look forward to learning more and becoming more in tune with the gods and my faith. Thank you for your content.

To wander, whether locally or a far, is something sacred. Both to explore, but also to be the answer giver. Which may seem strange or a shared experience, but when I wander people ask me questions, like what is this? Or where do I find this? And there is a connection to wisdom.

I felt Oden, I felt that he knew I had found my way. I sat, looking at this overwhelming sign from the gods and the crow vanished. It was simply gone. It seemed to crazy. There wasnt so much fear and depression as there is today in many parts of the world.
    There were things to explore.
Yes you can explore the world today but you can only do it if you have money.
Or someone paying for your journeys.

I'd say for most people, it has never been easier to explore the world. Doing it through the internet is already *exploring*, for example, and if we do have money, we have possibilities our ancestors could only dream of. Sometimes we tend to get lost in believing that we lack something we used to have, when it could even be the opposite.

I don't have the time right now to go back to the video and type out the quote of the Havamal Jacob put on screen, but doesn't it specifically talk about how travelling will enable you to broaden your perspective, and understand what and how other people think? The internet is as real as we make it be. It is a tool, and it is foolish to assume it worthless just because it is different.

To elaborate on the power of the internet: never has it been easier to explore different cultures, to learn of different religions, philosophies, schools of thought. Never has it been easier to listen to what other people from all around the world have to say, and to form your own opinion afterwards.
Use what you have. I saw your other comment, about how you don't feel free to explore because of paranoid people. I don't know your circumstances, so I can only say it again: Use what you have. The world is not going to change to make it easier for you. We face different obstacles than our ancestors did, that's all it is.

I am from Puerto Rico and I am "neo Nordic pagan" or whatever, I started on this path by myself less than a year ago and I only continue forward, it is not easy but the truth is that you feel good when you look back and see the progress and the changes you have had thanks to the father of all and all the gods.

I just looked into it. It appears to be an issue with Teespring. They are having distribution problems (like many things right now) so they are only selling certain prints it looks like. I just updated the store with what is available. Be sure to check out the store page itself for that updated list. Sorry for the inconvenience!

We really should ask the members of The Who (those still alive) whether or not they still believe in the maxim "Hope I die, before I get old". My guess would be nyet.

Wandering is foolish, especially if you do so in the mountains of Colorado. This guy did not "wander" to the location he is filming from if he is 2 hours off the plane. Wandering can get you killed
