My neighbor comes over to my meadow and clips milkweed to take home to the caterpillars her children are feeding at home for a summer project. This is a great video - thank you for sharing all these useful tips and information.

Excellent! I’m planting dozens of milkweed seeds and a few fully-grown plants this year in a few different locations-plus a ton of other species of native flowers!! Cannot wait till this Summer and next year to see the blooms and the wildlife response!!!

A friend in Texas, eventhough I'm in New England said, she could grow the common milkweed as an annual because the plants up here die off & are the seeds are weather stratified.
So if they haven't been stratified they probably won't grow?

I’m planting milkweed today in my yard here in Central Texas but I think you skewed the numbers by pulling 1996- 1997 spike as opposed to an average number over the 10 years or so...

We used to have thousands every year on the farm. After 4 generations this generation will never see any😢

That's sad to hear Wanda! If you would like to talk to a biologist about managing or creating new habitat on your farm we would be happy to help! You can find a biologist in your area on our website at nebraskapf.com/contact/. Good luck!

By the end of my lifetime round up will be known as the next big tobacco. I respect the farmers who use it, but they need to realize it’s killing everything including them.
