canon 6d mark ii with 24-70 f2.8 with 512gb for $900. Now, this is 6.5 fps and its a dslr so face tracking is ok, but full frame, good in low light, feels solid and shooting indoor basketball can get some really pro shots, like you wouldnt tell the difference from a high dollar rig. I get people asking what I shoot with all the time thinking its going to be a crazy set up and im like, dslr, lol all at $900 and I am happy with this set up. But I am on the lookout for a cheap 70-200 f2.8
Yo Damon thank you for the quality in this videos! I am actually rocking a zve10 with a tamron 70-180 2.8 when I'm doing sports! the only problem i fin with it is a lot of noise when in low light situation
for ppl who want to shoot basketball and want to do it for cheap ...if you shoot sony full frame look at the 24-105 f4 lens if your just starting out this will help cover most of the court and your able to shoot under the basketball or zoom in to half court and get shots ( for a newer photographer who cant buy 2.8 zoom lens this will be great ) .....if you shoot apsc then buy the 18- 105 lens it will be the same type of the 24-105 but for apsc cameras ......or if you want shoot primes use the sony 85 1.8 this will be great for indoor gyms for cheaper cuz you can buy it online since its a older lens ....or sigma has some good primes for cheaper also the only down side is if you have a sony camera that can shoot more then 20 frames a second for photos then using 3rd party lens you will not be able to shoot at full speed as sony caps speed for 3rd party lens ....but also take into do you shoot more video or photos ( cuz if video then you can get away with f4 lens way more then if you do photos in bad gyms ) since video your frame rate is also going to be lower and ur shutter will be lower vs you doing photos at 1/1000th you can film games at 1/125th if you shoot 60p or 250th if you shoot 120p which is far more forgiving vs photos at higher iso and shutter speeds on f4 lens
I really think getting a used a7iii for like $800 and getting the 50 1.8 for 150 used would be great... YES the 50 1.8 is soft at 1.8, but gives you that versatility to go a full stop lower in baaaad gym lighting. At 2.8 that lens is pretty sharp. Also getting a 10fps full frame a7iii that u can have now to upgrade the lens in the future i think will be a quicker path to shooting more sports
Thank you for this video and breaking down the specs needed. I traded my current canon for a compatible upgrade with lens… Was still a little bit pricey (for canon) but it was worth the investment 👌🏽👌🏽 this video helped a ton!!!
A bit of higher price range, 1.8k... can get you a canon R8 with a EF mount 28-70 and then put an adapter with thatand you would have a very good sports camera.
Why not go for a Canon 1DX used $700 and the Canon 24-105 f4 used $300 then you get a pro full frame body at the same price point which will get you the ability to shoot that f4 in low light
@@DTVprods.been shooting it for a year now and the f4 on a full frame is just fine especially on the 1DX I get usable images at iso 8000 for wrestling and basketball

Zve10 is the camera I use and it’s truly an amazing budget starter camera. Highly recommend
Is there any other equipment you would recommend. Love the vids. Thank you! Also is recording good on this camera?
Video for basketball videography coming out soon🫡
I now it does but does the tamron 17-70 still work great with a Sony a7 ii
Ngl he knows ball I have that same camera body and lens and my pictures come out good and I am just starting 😭
YO THANK YOU DAMON FOR THIS VIDEO
broo this is crazy this was literally my old setup before at upgraded to the a6700
How was the pics?
I actually just picked up the Sony zv-e10, can you do a video for best settings for sports photography for it?
A bit of higher price range, 1.8k... can get you a canon R8 with a EF mount 28-70 and then put an adapter with thatand you would have a very good sports camera.
Would this setup still work well with videography? I understand that there will be other gear necessary.
Wow a freaky first view like and comment for your boy life is great
Hope all is well with you. Is a sony a7iii worth it? Thank you! Blessings

As long as they meet the needs, sounds solid to me. But an f4 lens.... ehhhhhh

I’m on a 500-600 budget could you help me
