'To i Kin for K' - Oregon Koto-Kai

K no tame no T-I-Kin ~ To I Kin for K (Kanako) ~ composed by Tadao Sawai (1991)
This piece was performed by Oregon Koto-Kai at their 11th Annual Concert held at Portland Japanese Garden on August 27th 2022.
The title, "To-i-Kin," refers to the highest 3 notes in the koto, which are used and played in many koto pieces. Tadao Sawai composed this piece and dedicated it to his beloved daughter, Kanako. From the beginning, it sounds like a conversation between a parent and child due to the contrast between very deep sound of the bass koto and the high pitch of the koto.
