Wonderful tutorial. You grabbed the bull by the horn. In your next tutorial consider adding wall loads on your beams. It will help determine complete structural load when performing load chase down. To consider wall loads click/pick any beam that has wall loaded onto it, right-click and choose edit-beam-wall-load, add the wall thickness, unit weight of the wall and the dead-load will auto calculate. Then copy the beam-wall-load by right-clicking on the beam, highlight other beams you want to load walls upon and paste. This you must do along-side this tutorial from first to second before performing analysis.GoodLuck!
Nice works dude, there aren't much tutorials available on internet regarding Orion. Keep doing the great job. Seems you are from Nigeria, besides Nigerian are quite good using orion.
@@audushaka7829 H16 simply means high tensile steel. In Orion, higher steel bars of 460N/mm2 or 500N/mm2 are denoted with "H16" while another range of high steel bars of about 410N/mm2 are simply denoted with "Y16". So, you should know the strength of steel in your own country and apply it in the design. DO NOT use all parameters provided by CSC orion at default without enquiring to know exactly what they stand for. To effect a change in parameter concerning this, Go to building analysis Click on Edit Material. The possible elements to change are size of bars, concrete grade, unit weight of concrete and steel grade.
Nice job , please it is possible to call out slab reinforcements details in cac orion ? instead of it been inside the drawing, it makes the slab detailing looks unprofessional
I want more explanation on orion. The reason been so, is that my column section design is not everything that pass. And when I click on that column batch mode is not responding based on what u said
Good morning sir, I have been following ur videos but there's something I'm not getting clear. Concerning the cantilever span because in ur previous class u showed us a real life building having a cantilever, my question is why did you not design for the load that is acting on the cantilever? Because a wall is actually resting on the cantilever, and what type of load should be applied on that cantilever span?
Everything is not covered in this tutorial. But necessary things that will sustain a structure is covered. However, there are additional loads on the cantilever. This is where the beam wall load comes into play. Highlight one of the external beams on the cantilever, right-click and select EDIT-BEAM-WALL-LOAD from the options. Then design the load using unit weight of a block wall. Unit weight of a 1m2 of block wall of 225mm block in Nigeria is 3.85kN/m3. Found out the unit of your own wall in your country depending on the size. When you are done setting the design, you will notice the change in color of that particular beam. Select the beam, right-click and choose COPY-BEAM-WALL-LOAD, Then Highlight all the beams on the cantilever with respect to where you should have a wall and paste BEAM-WALL-LOAD. After all is set, Run Building Analysis again and enjoy...
I tried inserting the beam that is supporting the cantilever but keep telling overlapping and your number is not going through. Please I do I fixed this so I can be able to insert the beam to support cantilever slab
Yes Engineer. U r at the right site. I have series of testimony from great Engineers who probably made it under my tuition. And I still have other Engineers still undergoing online training tro me. I have simplified my Tutorials from very scratch to the top. U can understand it. But if you want personal tutorials WhatsApp +2348174616009
I love your presentations. How can I get a full list of your videos. I need to design a high tower for a large water tank. I also need to design a raft foundation. I would like to talk to you for personal coaching. I tried your number but it's not going through. Are you on WhatsApp?

Slab strip is simply how your slab reinforcements are distributed with equal spacing. In Nigeria, most common structure with slab strips are distributed @ 150mm c/c. It could be less or wider depending on what your design entails. It is being distributed in X and Y direction. We have main bars at the bottom while distribution bars are placed at the top to provide equal spacing. Main bars must be placed in the shortest span direction. Take time to study concerns about spanning way slabs.
@@hafizaliyuadamu5277 Yes you can change it. But you have to thread with caution. Go to settings>column settings>parameters, then change stirrup minimum spacing to 250mm. If you are sure of what you are doing. The danger looms when you forget to revert the settings while carrying out further design which has greater load of compression.
You have the most friendly demonstration ever
Thanks so much

great job my engr.
Nice job bro but I think you should have loaded the wall before the analysis. So that you know the total load of the structure in your analysis
Nice work

Kindly run slab detailing
Great job
Quite good software
This is good, but can you do how to extract the bar bending schedule for the slabs from orion?
This was great...But I have a question, why isn't storey 1 stripped before running analysis? doesn't it matter?
please can you please help out with this FE floor analysis. Especially batch mode chase down..?
nice video, however, i want to know how to create a title block on CSC orion
Why not try doing that with AutoCAD to make it easy for you and neat?
nice work my brother , i am working CSC orion in bars i see H16 and in your work you see Y16 pls help me out
After running Ur analysis, and the result are ok. You dnt have to worry if it's H OR Y
Thanks brother

Nice job Engr. But your structure or beam is not carrying any wall load, why?
How do I apply wall load on a cantilever slab?

I have some questions.. the ground column located at which storey? storey 0 or storey 1? im really confused.
0 story, because the first beam above the ground is 1 story.
