I think Harley's look is good. This show is clearly set in the 40s or so, putting Batman back in his roots. The classic characters of today have had their looks changed a lot since then, but they are all back in those classic looks now, if slightly modified in some cases. But other characters like Harley came decades later when times were different, so they're redesigning them to fit more in line with the 40s. At the very least, she's back in a harlequin outfit.
This show looks so awesome and having Bruce Timm and JJ Abrams is big and having Matt Reeves on board is especially such a huge get, with these three putting this out this show is gonna be phenomenal 🤘🔥🦇🦇

I love the horror elements. Even the villains have a creepier look to them. Like you, I'm not 100% sold on Harley's new look, but I'm open to it. The show looks way better than I expected. Hope we get a Blu-ray of this eventually and it's not just stuck on streaming. I don't have Amazon.
Oh no! Hopefully there is a collected blu-ray set for you. I have to imagine that will be on it's way with how collectible this show should be. I cannot wait to watch myself. :) Very interested to see where it goes. I too like the dark, horror elements that we see showcased in the trailer. Suits Batman and the period nicely I think.

I'm glad it's on Prime because here in Britain my Adventures with Superman is on cable channel E4. Which used to be good for imports. But now is 90% repeats of old sitcoms and movies. They put the Superman one in the small hours of the morning. Not sure when we're getting the second series. So I'm glad this is going to someone who will treat it with a bit of respect.
I feel this. In Canada we also don't get Max and we have to rely on Crave which only gets some of the Max stuff or the releases or delayed for us on Crave compared to the Max airdate sometimes. So I too am glad it will be accessible for both of us on Prime. Yay!

I am VERY hyped for this show! Love the Golden Age vibes. The Batman voice sounds good, and the animation looks great! I do think it was a weird decision for them not to put it on Max, but Prime works too lol
Oh and you should definitely watch all of BTAS when you get a chance! 💯That’s the best Batman, ever (in my humble opinion lol)
I also thought that was weird but I'm down with Prime since in Canada we don't always get everything that is on Max or sometimes have to wait longer for the release. But with Prime I should be able to watch day 1. So yay! It is an interesting choice though. Wonder why they went with Prime instead of Max (or for us in Canada, Crave).
@@VampX13 Ohh that’s right. I forgot Max isn’t available outside the US. Maybe that’s why, so they can get as many eyeballs on Batman as possible lol
I support your decision to binge BAS! Harley was such a tragic figure, but a little underdeveloped. I'm sure they'll flush out a lot more with her character in the upcoming show.

Yes, new friend, you should totally go back and watch batman the animated series before caped crusader because its a great series. I always loved the psychological aspects of the animated series and look forward to seeing how it continues into caped crusader. Its a great time for animated series fanatics because we just got an excellent season of x men 97, and now this. All we need now is a continuation of Spider-Man the 90s animated series.
Kevin Conroy would be proud of this. And with the track record that invincible has adding another superhero show especially with Matt Reeves, JJ Abrams, and Bruce Timm behind it with an incredible voice cast to Amazon prime, this should be absolute Box Office. I hope in the wake of X-Men 97s success this BTAS style series gets all the smoke reviving popular 90s cartoons The right way 🦇🦇🦇. I hope this gets a physical release to add to the collection because like you Amanda I am Batman BEYOND excited for this too.
Hahaha yeah I hope it gets a physical release too. I think there are many of us that will be eager to collect it, if it is as good as it looks (and I think it will be). Really excited for this one! I also hope we can get some of the same level of hype that X-Men '97 had. That would be amazing! Live action might be struggling but maybe animated superhero content is the future...!?

2:49 If you ever want to visit it, please watch BTAS in the production/DVD episode order because the one on max (which is also the air date order) is notoriously convoluted.
Interesting. Thank you for the suggestion. :) I don't have it myself on DVD but I know someone who does, so probably just borrow their copy to watch. Also then I don't have to deal with bugger/loading/ads. Or it possibly not even being accessible since we don't get Max in Canada. We get Crave and not everything that's on Max is on Crave. Which is annoying. lol

I think it looks really good, but right now all I really care about is My Adventures with Superman and hope that, that show keeps on running. Will probably give this a shot at least.
I really need to watch My Adventures with Superman. I thought it looked good in the lead up and I have only heard good things. Also it keeps getting recommended to me. Glad you are enjoying it! And hope you also enjoy Caped Crusader if you end up giving it a shot. ;)

This is DEFFINATLY different. And yes, sometimes that's bad, and sometimes it's good: new ideas and points if views explored obscure and brand new Villiers brought out.
It all depends in how it's presented.

mostly wary since I don't know if we need another Batman show set in a fictional depiction of the 40's, I would've been more impressed if Paul Dini would've returned instead of Bruce Timm since he's more of an animator than a story guy, besides I would've loved to see a Batman show set in the late 70's and early 80's since Dennis O'Neal and Neal Adams don't get enough credit for revitalizing Batman after his campy era of stories has ended, but then again I might be full of shit.
Im getting a vide very similar to 1990's animated Batman, but with a grit to it.

it doesn't seem like they have that in mind for this. and Barbara seems more adult here. I think the Barbara of the BTAS series was a teenager.
I don’t believe he will either, I was just trying to use that to be clever in my comment…I also don’t think the Redhead is Barbara, unless Bruce Timm is totally rewriting Batman history…I was thinking maybe Sarah Essen, around the time she had a affair with Jim Gordon , but I could be wrong 🖖🏾
Intrigued by the story but a little concerned seeing Bruce Timm connected to this because of 1 thing. So I'm praying there's no Barbara Gordon in this because we know what he does when he has Batman and Batgirl in the same show.

I think that dropping all ten episodes at once for the show is a mistake. That type of release window is terrible for audience engagement. When shows drop all their episodes at once the show won't be marketed as well and will most likely be popular only for a week or two, just look at the recent Fallout show for example. Week to week episode releases are always smarter.

This show stars a white male, so we're allowed to like it.
No one blends old and new like Bruce Timm.
The animation looks just so limited. I mean I know its animated series quality but they should show their A material for the trailer. Xmen had that whole Sentinel fight for the good animation even though the bulk of the series was flapping mouths. its painfully stiff and lifeless.

@@JoeyAustin-ul1qb this show drew her to be Asian when she was never like that and I am hearing she isn’t associated to the Joker in this series but with Montoya instead. That isn’t how she is supposed to be. UA-camr JesterBell said Harley has been changed.
We don't actually know for sure it's going to even be Harley yet. Maybe let's wait till the show drops. :)
