She didn’t have much respect for the career he chose, that’s not the only event he wasn’t able to attend, and having his wife harassing him during lifesaving surgery, no wonder they divorced.
I agree with @be4202 , you are making an insane statement. Lung transplants are really risky and often turn out not great. The dance recital is not that important comparatively. That lady married a transplant surgeon; she knew what she was getting into for quite a while

my son was diagnosed with CDH at my 30week ultrasound i was told by two separate hospitals that my baby wasn't going to make it and i should induce and i would be able to hold him till he passed away...i couldnt take that for an answer and found the team at Boston Donna Morash and Terry Buchmiller saved my son and have became family over the years this hospital is amazing

I am so grateful we just have to stop the bleeding and pass them on to medics. Its quite traumatic, we had a bad head injury once pouring blood and I was really scared, I still have nightmares about it. Thank you for the job you do, it must be very emotionally draining

It reminded me of when my husband came back k from Iraq. I cried as much out of relief as anything else. I got behind someone driving slow on the way to the airport, that was frustrating.
These 3 hospitals are the best in the world In 1981 they gave me 19 yrs with my son that we wouldnt have had if they didnt use experimental heart surgery on infants. My sons heart condition is now in med school text books
My husband was diagnosed with mesothelioma in one lung lobe back in 1993. He had the surgery at Mass General where I was an X-ray tech in the ER so I was able to follow everything close up. The surgeon was so good that he didn't need radiation or chemotherapy and returned to his vocation as a jazz saxophone player within 3 months. Unfortunately, a decade later he developed COPD and had to give up playing but worked at taping and editing live performances for local bands here in New Orleans. A year ago he began to become weak and sick. His heart was going bad because his lungs were giving out. The surgery had given him nearly 20 years of a good life. He passed away on May 6th, 2022.
My husband had been in Afghanistan for 30 weeks of my 34 week pregnancy. We got him home early because I had stroke level blood pressures..he wasn’t home 12 hours before I went into labor and our son was born! He spent a lot of my labor asleep because he hadn’t slept in days thanks to a long layover in Germany. But as soon as it was time to push, I pushed and he delivered our son! Those lucky Army babies! Hooah Sam!
I was an ER nurse for 25 years. Most underpaid, overworked, under appreciated (by employers), stressful job. Most workers in the medical field these days working for a hospital are unhappy. If they say they are happy....they are young and not burn out yet. Give them time...it happens to all of us. Very sad due to we go into the field to help people and you leave realizing it was only about the money for the organization you work for.
I was going to go in to the medical but it cost. Way to much money that you have to work to survive and you also have to work to pay off the student loan I've seen so many nurses. In IT. IT Manufacturing to pay off school and had to work one part time job just to pay off school is wong
My brother is an ICU nurse and he has been left a shell of a person. From the start to now he has had 150 patients pass who he was in direct care of. He recently got reviewed and got a really small amount compared to the other nurses that he is in charge of. He’s drinking too much regularly now. That breaks my heart because I know he just is trying to numb the pain. I get it. I hope he can come back. I am really worried.

Then they swear at you and make a scene because people having a heart attack, or who were in a head on crash, were seen before them. They clog up the waiting room unecessarily.when they should have just gone to a Dr's office. People wonder why health care costs so much. Well when insurance is paying thousands of dollars for emergency care for a minor sore throat. We are busy as hell and you get pulled aside to get cursed at because the wait is so long. Well here is a thought, why didn't you just go to the Dr's office and been in and out in 15 min?
No it because hospitals are there to make money and insurance say no this is what we are going to pay you so the greedy hospitals go after the patient for what they feel the insurance company doesn't want to pay
I've NEVER been in and out of a Dr's appointment in 15, I had a great doctor for 17 years straight, now one I've had 7 years, never has happened doubt it ever will, the closest is over the phone check ins now, one of covids good things
The problem is that most of are too lonesome and have mental issues regarding perceived life and want in but once there then all staff has to focus on them and drag out to hours and hours on them so they just get attention and a medical record so they can exploit it later .. when others are emergency and priority like the E.R. was originally designed for. If they go to their Dr. Who has already tired of the time wasting don't do it anymore.
Don't know what Dr office you go to but it's NEVER in and out in 15 minutes. Lol People do the best they can. There are many reasons why they chose to come to the er versus a Dr office. Is it after hours? A holiday and their office is closed? You never know. Patience for them goes a long way. And educating them helps. Geez let them know you understand their concerns but the critical care comes first. They don't always know hiw it works. Some view its just first come first serve. Educate, patience, compassion. They're the reason you have a job.
The first lady who was a DNR and the dialysis clinic resuscitated her thats completely horrible what they did the first thing you should know about someone if your in the medical field you always get the code status when your coming on shift or if your already on shift if someones DNR you do not Resus them no if’s and’s or but’s about it you do not do that if they dont want all that DONT DO IT!!!
Isnt dialysis considered to be life saving and not permitted as a DNR? Thankfully Boston caught the mistake and allowed the ladys body to set her free.

Ultrasound techs are not allowed to tell patients ANYTHING. That tech that told her that about her baby’s heart is soooo wrong. That stuff needs to be left for the DOCTOR to speak to the patient about. That tech should have been fired.
i was in a situation where at the ultrasound..the tech was mesuring..the legs arms...etc...and then ..nothing..we felt something was wrong..she stayed there...about 2-3 minutes...we asked her...what was wrong...we knew by her bodylanguage ...it was all wrong..the only thing she said...the doctor is coming..and she left...so ..in my own situation...even if..she wasn't in a position to tell us anything... i believe she should at least told us.. there might be something and because she is not sure...the doctor will tell us... because...the situation.... was traumatic... we were with a family member..she had bith 5 childfrens..so..she sure understood...that something was wrong...poor woman...our relationship never been the same after this..
@@voicije agree. When you've had multiple kids it's easy to tell when something's wrong. I had problems with my last and was sent for an emergency scan. Was so awful! The tech didn't speak and wouldn't show the monitor. I knew I had placenta issues and the silence freaked me out. She only spoke to me when I asked her if my baby was still alive and her response was only yes he's alive. Her report went straight to the doc who came to tell me I had ten minutes before they were going for an emergency C sec.
I was a resident in Cardiothoracic surgery at Boston University and Boston Children’s Hospital the year this show was produced. Residents and fellows are the one who can be used for such shows because they want to show off. There is more behind such scenes. A lot of BS.

I grew up in New England, and, sadly, we're known as some of the rudest people... If that nurse spoke to patients like that at Cincinnati Children's, she'd be fired, right on the spot.

That's not true. If his blood alcohol level is over is over the legal limit the hospital can't release him. His family wouldn't come to pick him up. So he would have stay even to the point of restraining him until his alcohol level is under the legal limit.

It is, and it is so hard to stop CPR on a young patient. We go an hour or linger sometimes just not wanting to give up. It is heartbreaking.

That's not true. If his blood alcohol level is over is over the legal limit the hospital can't release him. His family wouldn't come to pick him up. So he would have stay even to the point of restraining him until his alcohol level is under the legal limit.
