Ok. I just went down the rabbit hole with your work. I’m so inspired by all you do. Just followed both of your IGs. Besides your AMAZING work, your organization is an inspiration. I am an artist and bead worker who sews. When I feel overwhelmed and unorganized, you inspire!! I just had my 33 yr old son sit through a run of all your on display gifts, I’m sure there’s more! Thank you for sharing and making me feel less alone in the heavily embellished zone! Peace!!!
My mom had a patchwork crazy quilted skirt that I remember spending time examining, and one of my favorite things was to sort through a huge box of buttons. And the women all sewed... So I have the affliction for fabric, buttons, beads... And all in color. Big sigh and daydreaming...
You’ve inspired me to attempt to make my first tweed jacket! I’ve purchased fabric, pearl beads, and a pattern. I’m sure it won’ turn out as nice as yours, but I will try my best. Thank you and happy holidays from the USA. 🎉🎉🎄🎄
Thank you! Yes, I use poly thread as it's stronger and lasts longer. I prefer natural fibres and fabrics but poly thread will remain strong for decades, natural threads won't. I have a beading tutorial episode, I go into more detail in that. 🎨🥰🪡🌸
@@PerfectJacket just watched! Fascinating! Did my first project today…tiny seed beads on a sweatshirt in the shape of my initial. Used poly thread but didn’t double it twice and hope for the best. Next up is a jacket! The sleeves must be very tricky….underarm seam open or closed? And if open, how do you manage to turn it right side out?!!
Sorry I just saw this. Congratulations on your sweatshirt! I love, love, love those 1950's cardigans with the beading around the neck and an initial or a little motif. They're gorgeous. If you;'re beading a jacket, I would fully make the jacket first, then bead it. It's super difficult to finish making a jacket once you've applied beading. It's too heavy and fragile to move around the way you need to move a garment when machine sewing. Also, you want to know the jacket fits before you invest all that time in the beading.
I have a whole video on where to buy tweeds. basically, Linton Tweeds and Mood Fabrics both deliver all over. If you're in NYC google 'European designer fabrics' and it will show. you the stores. The ones with the really expensive tweeds don't have great websites. They're all in the fashion/garment district. I haven't been since the pandemic but it's NYC - There's always going to be women who want to buy more Chanel tweed to make more suits.
Thanks! I made a whole episode about how I care for the jackets. I store them like a museum collection. Most of them are in storage boxes, with only a few out at any one time. This system is not for everyone but it works for me.

That's so awesome! 🥰🎨🌸🧥 If you make a cotton mock-up, you can perfect the fit before cutting into all that beautiful tweed. Best of luck!
Thanks again for sharing your adorable beaded jackets. Merry Christmas!!

Do you use a special thread for the beading? Always GORGEOUS!

Can you tell us good places to buy Chanel tweeds in NYC or other places in one of your videos??? I'd love to know and try making a jacket of my own.

Can we see how you store your jackets please? Angela

I miss ‘the crazy beautiful’ jacket😅
I was going to put that jacket in but I decided to save it for a video on red jackets! ♥️💕🧥💕♥️
@ Ok, even better 💕❤️💕
