- We are in love with the look of our new Vent Pod Lights. We removed the plastic fake vents on the hood and replaced them with these slim, stunning LED ditch lights. Seamlessly add powerful offroad lighting to your van without looking overdone. These light pods install easily into the stock vent locations. The driver side still allows air to enter the cabin air intake while the passenger side is sealed.

A video of them at night would be cool, so we can see how far they throw light, the pattern, etc
Agree, We will post soon
Great addition,
Please a video for light pattern and road noise.
No road noise, I will post a pic of the light pattern at night
I've received our set today and they look great. I look forward to installing them! The lights and wire harness look like good quality too. The kit comes with a switch that I'll replace with an OEM switch in the dash. I am considering hitting the vent pods with a can of black Rust-Oleum to get them to match the rest of the trim a bit better. They're a great addition to our light set up.
Yes it is fake but its a bit more than that. For right hand drive vans sold in places like the UK, the vents would be swapped. So cabin air filter would be on the opposite side where the steering column isn't in the way. So while it is a non-functional opening in North America, the opposite vent would be true in the UK, Australia, Japan, etc. It wouldn't make sense for Mercedes to make 2 different hoods to accommodate that same van. So the same hood would fit both left and right hand drive vans. Pretty clever though to use the vents for an accessory.
Cool addition....do they generate any notable wind noise?
None
It's a really cool idea. I often wonder where original thought comes from and if it's really original. I wonder this about this particular idea because it's something that I've thought of for a few years. But I'm glad you're doing it. I will make an order at the appropriate moment.
Great minds think alike! 😊
I'm guessing it comes from ditch lights that you see on other vehicles. I have them on my truck. The issue w mine is they don't provide a lot of extra light. Would love to see if these are any different
Cool product idea, curious what the actually light output is at night.
PREFECT!!! You guys are gonna get a bunch of my money as my sprinter will look just like this one with LIGHTS!! LOVE IT!!! Two questions: 1. What size baja lights are those up top? 2. What are those two little boxes on the hood by the windshield? Thanks!
Off topic John is that a GMR antenna? I want to put one in and need a mounting bracket like you have. Oh love the lights.
I might have missed it but what are the specs on the light and who makes them?
Hi, any chance of there being vent lights for a 2008 Sprinter… please! 🙏
Genius. Thank you. Ordering them now. What is the blanket under the hood? Sound deadening? If so how do I purchase one of these from you? Please advise. Thank you.
Open up your hood and you’ll see the same factory cover!
Great product! Love your videos!
Would they still work, if you install a snorkel?
Cheers from Switzerland 🙌🏼
Yes these would work with a snorkel
Please make something for ford transit
I want them, are they available now?
Other than looking coolish, do they add significant candlepower to the road? What are the lumens per light?
The listing has more details. There is a link in the description. The lights are 3000 Lumens 30 Watts
Is there manual to adjust the lights I can download? I just had these installed and they need adjusting. Looks like I would have to dismantle the whole assembly to adjust the light.
Super easy to adjust. There are tons of hex (allen) bolt on the sides of the lights. There is room to get the tool in there. Simply loosen slightly, adjust and re-tighten
John, I noticed the logo on your jacket top. KTM??? Do you ride?? I’ve got a van up for fitting w/ Papago as a bike hauler that will most likely see some time in your facility for some upgrades. Looking forward to meeting with you and discussing business.
Yes, I was a motorcycle racer for most of my life. That is why I purchased my first van!
What are the black pads on the hood of your Sprinter? Heating pads for snow?
It’s solar panels. The roof is not the only place you can collect solar energy.
Do you sell these solar panels. Where can we get them and what is cost and instsllation?
R they running lights or used has spot lights ie off roading !! I’m looking for running lights , but not the grill look everyone going for - but want to be uk legal
Can you double up and still use traditional ditch lights w these or either or?
Why not?
Is this a plug and play install? If not, what is needed for install? Is it DIY?
It’s not plug and play, it would need t be wired to a switch. If you know how to wire lights it’s DIY
Any testing on the impact to MPG yet?
Not that we have seen
Do they run with the running lights or on a separate switch?
Separate switch
Will these work with uk vs30’s? On ours the dummy vent is on the left as on your van but the intake under the bonnet is on the right (air doesn’t route across through the bonnet).
Yes it will. The one scoop still allows for air access
So what John said about the problem of rain going directly in to the intake instead of across the underside of the hood is a…faux pas
@@jadesluvthe air still goes in the far side and across the hood. There is no hole on the passenger side. Therefore there is no effect on rain
Wind noise?
None
What's going on at 6.26?
Having a wee 😂 , nah reckon his fitting the out box
Why the hurry and not add the night time effect.
Not in a hurry, people wanted to order them so we launched them. We will have more info soon
Love the videos, keep them coming! I want your roof rack. It doesn't look like either of the ones on the website. Can we talk?
They are in production now
@@owlvansengineering I'll standby patiently, can I be the first to order? 😘
@@BJGarneau Please email moto@owlvans.com to get put on the list.
Do you have the install video yet? Mine should be shipping soon - ordered about 7 weeks ago. 🙏🙏🙏🚐
