  • Over the last 40 years of riding I've seen many people struggle on corners and make some glaring mistakes, I've made plenty myself. Join me as I ride my Harley Davidson Steet Glide and practice some cornering skills, in particular the one mistake that makes you like you are a beginner on a motorcycle.

It was my mom that got us interested in riding motorcycles. Cornering was our excitement in ride. We never feared corners!

So many rice burners really need to watch this video my friend. Myself I believe next to excessive speed the next biggest injury to riders is their over inflated ego and false sense of security in their riding gear. Great vlog, well explained- awesome

I started (road) motorcycling earlier this year at 44. When I did my learner's course, they drummed into me: start wide, and plan to finish tight. That way I can see hazards much earlier and just ride around it.

Nice video. My favorite subject. Pithy slogans: Go Deep, Turn Hard. Early Apex, Run Wide at the Exit. Late Apex Decreasing Radius Turns. Two more things you can do on decreasing radius turns. Slow down through the turn (and turn tighter). Progressively lean through the turn. If you went to full lean at the beginning, you would run off the inside of the turn. You can do all three: Late apex, slow down and progressively lean more. Careful about following faster riders. They know what they are doing and you don't. Happy riding!

Hey Aymen great vid mate, great advice. It's absolutely scary watching some of the riding out there these days, I don't think they teach motorcycle etiquette anymore. Many times I see riders who look like they've been riding for years in a straight line but then the brutal reality hits when you get to corners and see how there's no idea. It's scary how lucky some people are to get out of corners you showed entering too soon and leaving nowhere to go to exit.....
    Good vid mate. 👌 👊😎👊

Yes, certainly feeling a bit rusty with corning currently with now getting through winter. So love the twisties though. Great practical advice Aymen. We have some great courses over here in NZ that teach these very points. I need to do there track day, that would be fun. Plus the learning I'd get out of it, would be fantastic. Keep up the great work. Loving the vids.

    Hey, Aymen 👋🏽
Cool vlog.Riding a sports bike makes conering fun, and counter steering is what I do 99% of the time. And you're right, speed , angle, apex and counter steering are what it's all about. I consider suggested speed before the corner and decide between the sign , debris, road surface, and corner, how fast I'll be taking it.
    Ride safe or not,🤔

And then there's the guy coming the other way around the corner with bigger balls than skill (or brains) on the wrong side of the road - and not just bike riders but dingbats going too fast when towing heavy boats or caravans. I'm sure we've all seen those. Great advice, BTW.

I can understand the logic in what you’re saying but what happens in group rides, does everyone know to revert back to single lane riding or how do you avoid someone who’s got there own ideas of cornering. Hate to get side swiped by someone in the pack.
