I went kayaking on lady bird lake last month and coincidentally there was a blues fest that night, it was such a nice evening on the lake and we got the music in the background!
I loved this book! I read Midnight Bargain by CL Polk and Ten Thousand Stitches (book 2 to the series with Half a soul) so if you like half a soul and want more fantasy defence romance I’d recommend the other 2 books !
Cozy thrillers: Southern Bookclubs Guide to Slaying Vampires!! Probably some other Grady Hendrix books too. And Also Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Mexican Gothic etc 😊
There are so many cosy murder mysteries. There are also cosy murder mystery films on Hallmark with such titles as murder she baked, the garage sale mysteries and the morning show mysteries. I love these films I watch them with my dad. I highly recommend them.
If you're looking for a cozy historical-mystery-romance, I would recommend Maids of Misfortune by M. Louisa Locke!!! It's the first in the Victorian San Francisco Mystery series, which overall is really good. It starts in 1879 and each book kind of explores a different aspect of history, like spiritualism, education, printing presses, and even department stores. It begins with Annie Fuller, who owns a boardinghouse but moonlights as clairvoyant so she can give people business advice, and Nate Dawson, a lawyer who shares a client with "Madam Sybil." But I love them and I just want to shove this book at everyone I can 😂
I loved Half a Soul! I think you’d really enjoy her Lord of Stariel series, too. More fae interaction coupled with magical nature writing. A wonderful newish author to follow.
Omg I hope you enjoy Kamisama Kiss! It’s rare that a shoujo romance series gets completely animated, and that series is just so fun and cute from beginning to end! Also will definitely be picking up half a soul now!💕
For your romance-reading phases, have you tried any Kate Clayborn? I don't read a lot of this genre (I'm pretty picky) but I liked her "Chance of a Lifetime" 3-book series, and also Love Lettering was probably my favorite. So far I haven't heard her mentioned on any of the BookTube videos I've watched, so not sure if I'm alone in liking her books. 🙂
if quirky fantasy regency/victorian romances are your thing, i’d recommend the wisteria society of lady scoundrels! it’s so farcical and i absolutely adored the premise
It has a very odd sense of humor- kind of similar to Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I had a hard time with it simply because that type of humor doesn’t work well for me
lovely vlog to watch~~ just want to recommed a book, its rly not talked anywhere and the author isn't much known either I want if you can try to read The Foxhole Court Series by nora sakavic. The characters are the highlight of this story and their development
I can never get enough of your gorgeous house in your vlogs! Also have you finished Hunger of the Gods or did you put it away? Just curious if you liked it, I loved the first book but haven't read Hunger yet.
I read Shadow earlier this year and then Malice from his other series so definitely can't wait to jump back in :) so glad you are enjoying. I hear that the last 25% should be read in one sitting haha, as its that good.
I love Cosy Mysteries, why not try The Secret, Book and Scone series by Ellery Adams. or The Mystery Bookshop Mystery series by V.M.Burns, could recommend them both.
Oh, please don’t! It’s so bad. Anne would not act that way- that put modern conventions onto an Austen novel. Watch either the Persuasion with Ciaran Hines or the one made in 2007 if you want to know what Persuasion is about
The only concern I have about the synopsis of "Half a Soul" is the idea that having dampened emotions = having a half soul. It seems like it could be veering into ableist misconceptions. I haven't read this book, so I'm not passing a judgment on this particular work - nor am I saying it shouldn't be read and enjoyed, I'd actually like to check it out. I just know that a fairly common trope in fiction is magic spells/curses causing/"fixing" traits that are most often associated with people on the Autism spectrum, with mental health needs, or with physical disabilities. I try to keep a close eye on that kind of storytelling because I think it can be subconsciously harmful.
Ugh the comfort these reading blogs give me is honestly so needed right now! Thank you for making these! 😀
I’m smiling ridiculously right now. Like I always do when you upload ♥️

Yes! Kamisama kiss is one of my favorites! I recommend reading the manga too cause the anime ends in the middle of the story :)
Mine too!! I love it... Both the anime and the manga!
If you are looking for recommendations for cozy mysteries, I really liked Finlay Donovan is killing it. I think you would like it 😊
Half a Soul, I'm so glad you liked it. 'Charming' is the perfect word to describe it :)
I'm really enjoying a new young author, Melissa Williams. She has a lot of different series mixing suspense, humor and romance. The perfect trio.
Cozy thrillers: Southern Bookclubs Guide to Slaying Vampires!! Probably some other Grady Hendrix books too. And Also Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Mexican Gothic etc 😊
NOT me putting all my writing projects on hold so I can take a crack at writing a cozy horror 😂❤
half a soul was so cute and perfect!

I just went and picked up Half a Soul today!!! I'm really excited to start it

this made me crave for adobo 😭
What’s that K-drama called? I’d say that “Meddling Kids” by Edgar Cantero, which is based on Scooby Doo is a cozy horror.
lovely vlog to watch~~

Without delving into spoilers, there isn’t any “fixing” in this book at all!
