Nettle and Bone is one of my favorite books of the year! I definitely recommend reading What Moves the Dead as well! It is much darker and more of a thriller, but still has some of the humor and great characters like what is written in Nettle and Bone. 10/10 recommend!
Can't remember if you've ever read Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell before, but Sea of Tranquility was heavily inspired by Cloud Atlas & the structure was directly ripped from it
I've watched this vlog when it came out but now that I"m 25% into Nettle & Bone I took a pause on my audiobook and came back to it, so sooo good! Also love the doggie on your hardcover under the dustjacket!
I like how your dog helped you move furniture :) Beautiful rug! I have Nettle and Bone on my Kindle yet to read. I read way more thrillers than fantasy, but enjoy both.
Awesome. Nettle & Bone and Sea of Tranquility were already on my Master TBR (SoT on August TBR for a book club). And added A Visit From the Goon Squad to my Master TBR! Oh! Reading T Kingfisher's What Moves the Dead in August as well for another book club. Yeeee I can't wait for all these!
As soon as you said short I was hoping one would be Nettle and Bone. I’ve read all three books you have here so I’m VERY excited to see where this vlog goes.
Hadn’t heard of Sea of Tranquility before, but I grew up on Vancouver Island (in a small town called Comox) and I love reading books that are set here!!
Im reading Nettle and Bone at the moment and i agree its sooo atmospheric, cant wait to have a garden 😅 i have a room filled with house plants to compensate
Hi Regan, I love your new rug, very cosy and autumnal. I recently bought Nettle & Bone too (it was the "chicken possessed by a demon" part that got me 😂). I read a few chapters but it was darker than I expected so I decided to keep it for autumn, probably around October. The ambiance of the story reminds me of Tim Burton's movies, especially the Corpse Bride one: dark but fun and lovely too.
I know this has nothing to do with books but because of you I have figured out to cut an onion super fast LOL so god bless you 😂 I watched you cutting an onion a couple vlogs ago and it changed my life 😂
Wheel of time 3 put me in a slump this year. Although i kept reading it was a shore until last months. What got me out of it was actually forcing myself to continue wheel of time 3 and finish it omg i loved it so much 🤣 fallow that right up with Way of King . Time for big books when im hyped
If you like t kingfisher you should try her paladin books! They’re romances with a mystery and they’re really good! Paladins grace paladin’s strength and paladins hope
It kind of looks like the couch is blocking the bookcases lol. Can you get at the books? Also, remind me where you got your book spine (the shelf). I have been wanting to get one.
Hi regan, i am a newbie bookworm and i want to read a lot of booms. Can you please share your best practices on how to read more and how to maximize time in a day reading?
Nettle & Bone is unlike many other fantasy books I've read recently! Absolutely loved the writing style and your 'everyday characters' who shine beautifully. Also, who can resist Bone Dog and a demon-possessed chicken? :)
Nettle & Bone was already on my TBR, because I've really liked T. Kingfisher's other books. But then you mentioned the demon-possessed chicken and I *might* have immediately purchased it. Just saying.
It does, the cases are interesting and though the main character’s acting is a little intense, it will grow on you. There are lots of themes going on with the show and I guarantee you’ll be rewarded for your patience. I am at episode 12 and can’t wait to see 13 this week… it’s a really good show, it allows you to open your mind to things you don’t often think about. Enjoy…
ugh visit from the goon squad when i read it probably 5-6 years ago, was one of the worst books i’ve ever read and I really don’t think anything has topped it so far since then
the amount of content ur pushing out rn is crazy and i am NOT complaining 🥰 nice to see you again!!

that new rug room is screaming for some big plants to balance out all the orange :D
Great vlog and love the rug and couch so cozy vibes 🪴📚☕🌈👍
Ok, Nettle and Bone is going straight to the top of my TBR! Great vlog Regan :)

You always inspire me to redecorate my room but my bedroom is literally the size of a shoe box 🥲

Lovely vlog always!! What was the cook book you used for the Lemon Orzo? That looked so good!

At this point any book you recommend I read! So I will definitely check these out!
I also recently read Nettle and Bone and whilst it was eerie in parts it was also really enjoyable- I gave it a 4 stars. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Please please please read Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes. Is such a good middle grade in my opinion and I’d love to hear your honest review!!!

Gawd I miss the southwest. Breakfast tacos 🌮 for the win.
Since you enjoyed Nettle and Bone I highly recommend her novel Paladin's Grace. It's got the same vibes.
t kingfisher is one of my favorite authors :)
Nice to see you!

Did nettle remind you of daughter of the forest? Sounds similar in a way

Came for books, stayed for Matilda 💜

Where is the couch you moved to the library from?
Awesome vlog ! I started Attorney Woo and I need to finish episode 1. Does it get better ?

How does coffee affect you ? For me it makes me take a caffeine nap.
Take your desk out of the family room. Just a suggestion.
