Should I be afraid to go back and play my old games with dying internal batteries? Is that what happened to your cartridge? I may not have touched my game boy in years, but it is still sad to think that it is no longer an option and all I have left of those great memories is a brick with some smaller bricks that plug into it.
It depends. I’m actually using an emulator (for legal reasons, I’m not) But from what I remember, the internal battery doesn’t entirely brick the game. It usually just means time based events will no longer occur. But when you replace that battery, it does end up messing up the file. But to add salt on the wound, I had just left New Bark Town to get to Elite 4. 😢
