Thanks for the step-by-step plugging-in process - that has helped me figure out where I went wrong .......... so I've just got to figure out why it won't go beyond the Welcome screen and the broadband drops to about 13mbps - I suspect a Virgin problem, but I know it's not a cable problem.
They are installing mine next month, they're in for a shock if they think that cable is going to work in my house... He''ll need to be bringing a drill and a lot of cable.
Our conundrum is the TV is in the other room to where our broadband connection is, so we can't have the box near our TV. We'll need ultra long cables including the HDMI cable in order for it to work and have the box near the TV.
I need a longer cable as my router is mounted far away from where the VM broadband enters the property because I don't have any nearby wall sockets. Will VM provide extension for the broadband splitter?
Your funny , just wanted to ask , I was just looking at my current broadband cables , they seem impossible to disconnect. Do ya think I'd be able to just use them with the new broadband box ? Thanks
@@TheElderGamer it depends on what kind of hub do you have fpr example .. the hub 3.0 and you will ugrade your current package to the highest package that they have .. you must to change your hub from 3.0 to hub 5 and that is already included in your volt pachage ... its would be 8 pounds added than you!
Why do you need Ethernet to the tv why can't it connect to the router with WiFi I just ordered this but in having second thoughts and sticking with sky for tv I've also found out the mini boxes require a cable and are not wifi
@@TheElderGamer I took apart the ethernet leads and it worked OK.. I have a separate splitter that split front room and bedroom. It's worked ... thankfully
And the good thing is the remote control for this box is Bluetooth so you don’t have to point it at your box. It works without it being pointed at your 360 box
your on copper cable not fibre i got virgin in on hub 4 and i got fiber cable you have 2 plugs one going to router and one going to fiber box outside , you wouldnt get full speed on internet thanks
You are talking utter mince, virtually everyone on virgin media is on the same hybrid fibre coax (HFC) system bar a small number in trial areas for their new FTTP system. Why do you think your older hub 4 is faster than his newer hub 5?
Im very annoyed about this new box I have been sent. after 11 years of using our tivo box, in the summer we started to get problems with sound levels, apps like BBC I player refused to work, pixilation's of most tv channels. I dont use Iplayer for the simple reason it has never worked on our very old Tivo box. I missed a lot of programs mainly sport that was put on Iplayer, and was despairing trying to wait for buffering to catch up. I spoke to Virgin 10 days ago, and they actually told my our Tivo box is no longer supported!!!!! (begs the question why they didnt contact me for a free upgrade?) They sent out albiet late from yodel by 7 days a new improved box called a 360. But Im having lots of problems with it. I have only got as far as connection so far, instead of connecting to the fibre optic connectiom. it keeps asking me to connect by wifi or ethernet. I dont want either, for one, we only ever had an ethernet cable installed 10 years ago for my computer in another room. Secondly I dont want wifi, because we already have far to many wifi devices already. My wifes phone and her tablet and my tablet, We use Amazon prime already on wifi. But drops connection quite often on my PS4, especially when Alexa has a message. the PS4 connection just drops out. Is there anyway of bypassing these two connections so i can use the Tivo fibre optic input we already have for 11 years. strange cable supplied, it dont go into any fibre optic socket on the back of the box. instead uses an analogue coaxial input (laugh) which surely is out of date by many years. If anybody or you have any ideas, please help, or it will go back. because were going to have many devices fail while we have this virgin box on wifi as well. I could use one of my router Ethernet connections from where the computer router is, but that would have to be 20 feet long to reach the 360 box from the bedroom. And a lot of work to get it through to another room thanks
Thank you so much!! I had no idea how to set it up until I watched this!!
I still don't!
@@baylessnow it's not that hard. The instructions are clear.

Good video. Is it possible to do a straight swap from the old horizon box to the 360 box or do you have to upgrade your tv/broadband package too ?

What is it ? I have it but I don’t understand . Is it a new wifi box? Or do you use it plus the Wi-Fi??!!
Wps is a setup for Wi-Fi devices that use it so if you press wps in device and wps on hub they can connect to hub without password being enterd
Very good l like the cat 🐈 is he/she helping you.😂😂
She, also has her own playlist reviewing cat food.

Mines miles away I got a longer lead, which was a little too long, when my unit was delivered.
You can upgrade if you wish and additional box upstairs..
Don't watch enough for another box

Think so, after all everything outside the house is the same
@@TheElderGamer thanks a mill, hopefully

Think they just recycle the old hubs when returned
this could have been 10 minutes
Yup, but that's boring. More fun to see me get flustered and mess up.

@@midnightrun1 exactly !!! because for to able to get the 4k ulta HD for your telivision
they do support WiFi, but they tell you to use Ethernet to make sure your happy with your kit with no disconnects
God this is long winded.. Turned it off
Got remote 360 can't get volume on remote
could you possibly make an update and show the recording guide please :)
good
I've pressed for 10 secs and nothing happened
How long was the cable ?
Cable between boxes short. Cable from the wall connector long.

Good to know
Nice instruction. Just too many cables
12 mins in & he has just unboxed it. Lost the will to live
Tv opposite end of house to router. Why do we need this white coax and broadband cable? Totally ridiculous
Why does the paying customer have to install this? Tempted to chuck it all in and take up a new hobby.
You can get rid or hide channels you don't sub too.
Figured that out tonight haha. Thanks

Virgin tv box 6
this could have been 5mins lol anyways thanks but was very boring
Presentation on this channel needs work. The rambling on and on is so annoying. The guy sounds like he's almost on anasthesia. Not funny !
Very overwhelming but got there in the end. The "help" video from virgin media was useless. Thank you friend 🫡

I have just had my Tivo box replaced with a brand new Tivo box by Virgin. So i would assume they are still supported?
