    It’s funny, I bought a wreck this journal and I couldn’t wreck it because it felt too much like a book. I used to draw in my books when I was younger and I would get scolded. I guess I have some trauma to heal there! 🤣

    Thank you doing this videos , now i know which books prompt i prefer , i love Lorna Scobie books , she gives all instructions to help us to be creative , but it is our own book and we can do want we want at the end . If something do not please me i paint my page and draw something i love . I have the seven books of Lorna Scobie and i looooove them . I really progressed with theese books . I finished 365 days of art , of drawing , i soon finish of creativity , of feel good , art in nature , animals , art at home . They are lovely books . Amicalement Francoise

      @@TheCassieProjects All theese books are very similar , but each one have something dominant , what i mean that in one book , for exemple 365 days of art there is more about practising lettering , in 365 days of drawing there is more practising drawing portrait or people , in creativity there is more design objects , in nature , there is more to do landscapes and animals , in feel good there is more patterns , but each of theese books have the same prompts repeated in another way . So for me i love that to draw back in another way , other colors ... i love all the books but maybe 365 days of feel good art if i had to choose one , but just it is just me , because i love drawing patterns and i love zentangle and mandala . The cover of this book has rainbow colors , you have the blue one , there is one red , one yellow , one green , and one pink less thick than the others and only with animals . I hope i have help you to choose another book that makes me happy . I have also done wreck this journal a few years ago but it is not the same . Amicalement from Francoise

    I have this book now and started on it. I love all of these books and each has thier own creative pros and cons about them. Though for some I'd spend days on one and minutes on others.
    I have AuDHD and I struggle with the same things. Hyper focus vs motivation
    I really love the pattern you created. It is really cute.
    The difference between CTB3 and the other 2 was a different publisher. The prompts are smaller in font and the page margins as well as the cover.

    Interesting. I just bought the One-Year Art Journal, which seems to be quite similar to the 365 Days one. You've got a point that the specific instructions would be good for "art block" days or low creativity days. Sometimes I'm too tired after work to be particularly creative, but I still need to do something, so I just swish around some watercolor.
    Other than that, I have CTB and DYJ. (Also I just preordered Chloe Rose's brand new book, which releases in December =D )

      You don't have to do it in a row or everyday. its not time stamped. like create this book you can do any of the prompts whenever you want to out of order or in order. It just makes a better title 365days because it has 365 prompts. I'm still working on mine going on 4 years now. Some i spend days on others minutes cuz its really relaxing and it guides you in a way to where you can take the prompt and go all in or just think outside the box like Cassie was saying about it.

    I bought the 500 prompts book. I don't remember the exact name of it. I never did a prompt because it was so specific. The first one was, to draw a wizards staff and the second was waterfall. While it was direct and told me what to draw, I didn't really know how to draw a wizards staff from my imagination. It wasn't something I had really looked at before. I didn't think I could just pick up that book and do some quick little sketches, as I would have needed to actually google what things were, but I didn't want to do that either, as then I would be just copying from someone elses interpretation. That book wasn't the right fit for me and what I wanted to do, so I gave it to a lady at work whose 12 year old son loved to draw and she really wanted to help encourage him to grow his imagination.
    I would like prompt books that help me grow and create new things, and I really want to learn to draw things that I haven't tried yet. So it is ironic that the book I didn't like would actually push that, but I didn't want to have to google everything I drew first. I probably also had some self doubts about what i could draw.
    Anyway thank you for a great video, I think this is actually really helpful :) I am so glad I am getting the chance to know you.

    • @loati94
      @loati94 Місяць тому +1

      Just wanted to say that no one can draw without references first. Even if some people know how to draw things out of memory, they have had to look at references at one point. And I'd say drawing without references only works for illustration/cartoonish type art. Even artists that make up paintings have to mix and match references to create something new. So don't get discouraged, enjoy the process and remember that no one can be great at something without sucking first.

    • @lozantoninocreations
      @lozantoninocreations Місяць тому +1

      @@loati94 thanks. I do use references too. But when it's something I'm not familiar with the only thing I can do is use references. I want to get to a point where I have more experience with drawing various subjects that I can create those compositions on my own (with references for some help). I don't want to draw something I've never really seen before, as I would likely rely too much on the reference and not be as creative as I want. Does that make sense?
      Anyway thank you, I appreciate the reply and a little push of confidence.

    • @TheCassieProjects
      @TheCassieProjects  Місяць тому +1

      I totally understand, when doing the inktober I found it super hard to draw something I had no interest in. Though it did help me to learn using watercolour, instead of fussing over the subject I could concentrate on the art supply instead.
      Maybe a more open to interpretation book would suit you more after all, so you can really put your own creative twist on it. Maybe the create this book series would be a good place to start if you wanted to try a prompt book.
      Ah I know, it’s so lovely to get to know you. It’s lovely having a network of artists to discuss these things with ☺️

    I love all of these books…Create this Books #1-#2-#3 (Numbers #1-#2 are finished) and I am working on #3. And the 365 Days of Art, of Creativity, and of Feel Good Art (I go back and forth in completing these books) and Wreck This Journal and Wreck This Journal Now in Color. I don’t stress over any of the prompts in any of these books. I alter the prompts as I wish. Plus I am working in Draw This Journal. I just step away and give myself a break when I reach a saturation point. There is no judge as to when and if I finish. I like stretching myself creatively.

    • @loati94
      @loati94 Місяць тому +1

      Well, If you think about it, many times in art school or art classes they also tell you what to do, sometimes you even have to draw the same things over and over and over again to learn techniques with no creativity involved at all, just skill development. In any case, these books are just for doing a little bit of art each day without having to think about what to do. Doing art doesn't have to be about full creativity all the time, just putting paint to paper can help relax and enjoy your time a little.
      There's another book like this one called 365 days of creativity if it feels more appealing to you

    • @TheCassieProjects

      Oh I think I am even more creative when working through some of these books then I would with just a blank piece of paper. It pushes me out of my comfort zone and it has really helped me to grow as an artist. This is what I said in the video… when I am struggling to be creative sometimes the instructions help me to just get a pen to paper and then I can be as creative as I like once I’ve warmed up my hand 😀
