- Modifying my Porter-Cable battery packs so that I can use them in my Black and Decker string trimmer. Also modifying my Black and Decker battery pack so I can charge it in my Porter-Cable charger.
I have one B & D battery for a pretty nice string trimmer/edger. Thing never lasted a full yard trim and edge. I have three Porter Cable batteries for drills and Brad nailer. Just used this hack and now I just converted all three batteries for my stringer trimmer !!!! This was a great post ....thanks for sharing !!!!

I can't believe he's using a Mustang SVO for workbench!! I've only seen 2 of them in person.
It’s not really an SVO. It was my Big Block Ford powered Fox Body drag car. Previous owner put SVO badges on it.
The reverse works too. I used a multi tool with saw blade to cut the back behind the slide of my Black and Decker batteries. They are now all interchangeable.
I guess I'm quite randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to stream new movies online ?

For me, it would be a better idea to adapt the B & D tool since I have 4 Porter Cable tools and batteries but only 1 B & D tool (a leaf blower). Thanks for the video!

Sorry, but its not a real SVO. Previous owner put that badge on it. It’s actually a BBF powered drag car. I have a few videos showing some of the work I did to it, and racing it.
True fuel for 2 stroke gasoline.. I leave the gas in all winter in two pulls very little sucking with the choke fires right up…even my stubborn over lot opened carb huskvarna chain saw.
Had that weed whacker you have. It sucked you weed eat very little or keep up on it better than I nooooo nuts… true fuel though you’ll thank me. Keeps carbs clean as a whistle an no mixing you 2 stroke just right anymore
Did you consider modifying the Black and Decker tool so the PC batteries would fit without modification?

As long as you cut the battery so that the top notch is the same on both sides it will interchange between porter cable and B/D Tools.
I got the same weedeater at wal mart with battery and charger for $7 open box missing guard, got ahold of B&D and they sent me the guard

When I bought my Porter Cable driver in 2014 I got a charger just like that.

I do my black to porter no trouble
After making the modifications to the Porter Cable batteries could you still use them with the PC tools? I have the PC drill & impact drill and they are still working fine. Kit came with 2 batteries and a charger. Was thinking of picking a blower or weed trimmer up at a thrift store next time I see a compatible one on 50% off day. Coincidentally, I drove an '85 Mustang from about 1997-2002 and learned all about Ford repair during those 5 years, lol. Thanks in advance.
Roger C. Polanco If you make this mod, your PC batteries will work for both B&D and PC. You can also modify the B&D batteries to make them work in your PC tools.
I want to use my Porter Cable battery on my B & D trimmer, can I notch the other side and will it fit in charger?
It should. It might not lock in perfect, I think that part might be slightly different. You should be able to get it to work though.

Thanks for this video. These companies are such shit. Why can’t they just try to make it more convenient for customers. It’s like passive aggressive bullshit. I hear the new craftsman’s are similar battery cases but they flipped the polarity. Bunch a crooks is what they are.
Black and decker owns and makes porter cable and there is no need to do that slam down thing you do

I appreciate that you made a very informative, useful, great (and more such adjectives) video for me. But why do so many people make videos like this that start and end with ear busting loud, annoying (and more such adjectives) music explosion at the start and end? I quickly turned down the volume at the beginning after jumping out of my hair. But then I couldn't hear you, so I turned the volume back up. And then you did it to my ears again. It actually hurt, man! So even though I enjoyed the video content, I just had to blasted you back with a thumbs down.
