@@sh.4409 Then there would be no police. People who become cops almost always have the same reasons for it. 1. They were bullied as kids and want to get even. 2. They were bullies as kids and want to keep doing it. 3. Georgie and Dim 4. They want to 'make a difference in their community'. The last one is the reason most of them give, but it rarely seems to hold up to scrutiny. If they really wanted to make a difference, they would join internal affairs and weed out all the cops that joined for the first three reasons. I will prefer private security over public security 999 times out of 1000.
And that's going to show up in court, if the city doesn't settle. It's *very* clear who the aggressor is here, the situation was calm and being handled professionally. The retired firefighter of course knows how this has to go, so he's giving a statement where he's been asked to stand and then this detective asshole rolls up and starts yelling about "his" crime scene. There was no reason for the detective to act like that...none. It's certainly not the firefighters fault, he's doing what he's asked. And it's completely over the top that this detective asshole actually leaves the crime scene. further escalates the situation, goes hands on and injures THE WITNESS. At the very least the detective needs some retraining and probably some anger management counseling, or really probably should not be packing a badge and gun.

A democrat blocked me in a fit of rage when i wouldnt agree with him when he said carbon was "killing us" carbon is the most neutral unharmful element in the universe... the same people cant even properly define what a woman is but theyll put children on puberty blockers and try to convert them to the opposite gender.
As a nurse, I will also say that administering CPR is a traumatizing event for the person giving it. Adrenaline runs high! This detective just escalated things for no reason.
That was part of the comment I just left: the man who was literally just saving another man's life has an excuse to be amped up and have his adrenaline pumping. That cop who JUST showed up at the scene has NO excuse. He was a complete asshole and walked _away_ from the victim to satisfy his ego. Absolutely ridiculous.
The firefighter was probably affected by a HUGE rush of adrenaline and experiencing an emotional reaction to the situation. Finding a man bleeding to then beginning to perform CPR and to then have law enforcement officers treat him like this…yeah, that’s all bound to have profound effect on him. He was trying to save a life…these officers were more concerned with protecting their egos. Disgusting.
Dude his arm got dislocated and the most he said was “hey don’t leave me alone I have mental problems” until later my dude could’ve fucked that detective up if he wanted
I was more pushed up after giving cpr BEFORE my PTSD. I became a tyrannical monster if someone fucked up during that. I reduced a charge nurse to nothing because she took the succion apperatus from the crash cart. Nothing that I am proud of. I learned a lot of lessons due to my PTSD. Mistakes can be made and are something that I can use as a productive teaching lesson. But we are not talking about mistakes here. We are talking about misconduct and behaviour that makes you unfit for your profession. Pretty sure I would snap in his situation. The crime scene was already 'contaminated' by the firefighter, who was there helping the victim. So it makes no sense to remove him. Illogical thinking by Rivera
The detective was who shot the guy. That's why it's HIS crime scene. He doesn't mind his gang buddies being there, they'd never snitch, it's the regular person who may have communicated with the victim that's got to go.

Exactly! He was just in a high stress situation and was helping a dying man and the cops expect him to stay calm? His adrenaline is quite literally running while this detective just casually arrives and starts yelling for no reason
Absolutely and he also had to retire due to a diagnosis of PTSD. Everything they did will escalate that and would cause damage to his health for years to come - that’s even if you ignore the physical damage he did that required surgery to fix.
The detective apparently wanted to investigate a homicide since he immediately harassed the only person attempting to provide medical care to the victim. This cop should not have a badge or a firearm.
You don't stop people giving CPR. You encourage them and get ready to relive them. But that's probably not thought in their active self defense courses 🙄

This detective was worried about the former firefighters who stopped to help the victim than he was about the victim. Get this detective off the force. He’s a menace to society.
Video is highly misleading. Nobody got “arrested” here, the firefighter got detained for having an explosive outburst with a detective at a crime scene. Firefighter says at 9:25 that he’s struggling with PTSD, so I think that’s why his behavior was pretty aggressive. With that, I think the cop had reasonable cause to detain him due to his aggressive behavior and knowing the victim was lying in a pool of blood on the ground. You have to understand that they’re all unaware of who shot the victim, so even if the firefighter isn’t making any direct threats; his aggressive demeanor got him rightly placed in cuffs for further examination. Cop gets an “F” but the firefighter also gets an “F”. This was two hot heads popping off at each other when both should have been working together to focus on the victim
@@Laughy-Flaaffy the detective started the aggression by yelling at him while he was giving his statement he wasn’t the one who was aggressive the detective also came and got in his face

@@unclebounce1495 Qualified Immunity is retarded, I understand the logic behind it but it's just wrong. Hospital workers aren't granted qualified immunity, firefighters aren't, what about Garbage collectors? Would it not be reasonable to extend that to Garbage Collectors, they are more than 50x more likely to be killed by a civilian than an officer so is it not reasonable to extend the whole "cops have a reason to react harsher because they have a dangerous job" to a Garbage Collector who shoots a man dead after seeing him reach into his pocket and shouting at him? Because Immunity protects that for officers. No all people should be held to the same civil and criminal standards as anyone else. Anything other than that and you risk abuse of that Immunity which is what modern day policing is.
I'm an ICU nurse and have called and preformed and responded to innumerous codes and preformed manual CPR countless times. It is something that puts your adrenaline through the roof for even a trained professional, especially after when the immediate crisis his stabilized. It is mandatory that we leave the floor for at minimum 15 minutes before we return to treat patients due to being in a cortisol dump. The firefighter responded much better than I would have being confronted so aggressively after just being in a life and death situation. Instead of having the situational awareness to realize a fellow first responder in this situation this cop let his ego and emotions dictate his actions. Exactly the opposite of what this retired firefighter did. This is the difference in being a professional and being a clock puncher. Hopefully this "hero" cop learned a valuable lesson as the next time it may result in serious bodily n harm to himself, a victim or another first responder.
I worked as a lifeguard for about 15 years. During that time I was fortunate enough to only have to perform CPR 3 times.. The adrenaline dump is enough to give me a heartbeat over 200 myself. Even training in a real life like situation is enough to raise heartbeats very high too....people yelling, crying , screaming, instructor asking what you are doing and why?
It’s a crime scene but this officer, like the cowards at Uvalde were blinded by controlling the scene (or the illusion of control) versus helping the victims.
I can't watch the rest of the video after 3 minutes in. These people couldn't give a flying fuck for nobody. The CPR person needed relief and medics should have been dispatched. The fucking cops did not care one iota. I was taken to the hospital one time, thank fuck it was the fire team that got to me first.

WHAT? 3:12 "the first thing a cop should do is to secure persons at the scene." Please note that someone has CALLED the cops, therefore the cops are *NOT* the first people on the scene, therefore they don't know what's going on. The *FIRST* thing a cop should do is *FIND OUT* what is going on. This may involve the DIFFICULT job of asking questions and then STFU while LISTENING TO PEOPLE who are already there, and who may have IMPORTANT INFORMATION which the cops need to know. A cop should never *REFUSE TO LISTEN* to people.

I dunno about that. Anyone who can post bail will be right out from jail, and it takes years for the trial process before any individual is imprisoned. As a retired volunteer firefighter Chief, I can understand Mr. Garcus' side of the interaction with the detective. I once was arrested for 'not moving my firetruck' just so the hiway patrol could put his vehicle in place 'so it could protect the accident'. My class a pumper was larger and heavier than the patrol car and would more effectively protect the accident. The HP's ego, in my opinion, was hurt because he didn't get what he wanted. Therefore, I had ownership of the scene until I was satisfied that our department was complete and no longer needed. My arrest was vacated and dismissed at arraingment!!! The patrolman was given notice that his behavior was unwarranted and should change his attitude.
What is completing city jurisdiction? The way I see it, as a first responder it is legal for you to do what you did and not a crime, therefore cop has no authority. But they think they can do what they want. Dangerous concept coupled with the low IQ they have.
In Kentucky it's the fire departments scene period. On an accident, fire etc. I heard a story third hand. So take with a grain of salt. I'm a retired police officer myself. I have worked the street, as a field training officer, counterterrorism and criminal investigations. In all my tenure I've seen a lot of cops do stupid things, and this detective was right up there with most of them. He lost his cool, his ego inflated and he's going to get himself and his agency into an awful lot of legal trouble that they're not going to be able to back out of. The city of Santa Paula agreed to pay $325,000 to settle a federal lawsuit brought by a retired firefighter who claimed he was assaulted by a Santa Paula police officer in 2020. The settlement includes a confidentiality clause that prohibits the city and the other parties from discussing the payment or even acknowledging its existence. @@lordvika2526 they did nothing to prevent the detective from taking excessive action while flipping his shit. They should have intervened. They're not as guilty as him but they're certainly not innocent.
@@lordvika2526 the issue is not one of those cops intervened. The best they did was the one cop taking the statement caving to the detective to move the firefighter out of the perimeter. No one challenged the guy, talked him down or god forbid removed him from the scene. That’s why it’s a problem with *all* cops
Yeah, no one wants to he a cop, they are desperate for hires at most departments, so they lower the barriers to entry. And by they, I mean the local population, because they are the ones who vote for that.

That immediate rage reaction from Rivera should NEVER be tolerated. In any other Job he would be fired instantly. At the very least he should have some serious therapy and anger management treatment. Preferable inpatient.
Man there isn’t much that pisses me off more thoroughly than police officers bullying first responders like fire fighters, even if this guy is retired he’s been trained to react first in life threatening situations and has done so at the cost of his own well-being. Not everyone can do what needs to be done to save lives in crisis and those who can and do need to be respected
i would have panicked, i dont have the training, or knowledge or expertise to do anything like this...other than call 911. Basically at that moment Im useless, no matter how much I want to help. And yet this man with years of training, confident, and willing to help saves a mans life, that is GOD sent!. What an act of GOD, to be the right person at the right place. And yet they humiliate him and cart him away like trash into a police car.
I can't believe this was not addressed. What if the interviewing officer would have said something like, "Detective, chill out. I got this. I'm interviewing this man who was just administering CRP on this victim."? That would have shut the hostility down immediately. Good cops not putting bad cops in check makes them bad cops too.
We've seen MANY videos of dirty cops putting good cops in an uncomfortable position where they have to choose between defending the civilian they'll probably never see again and having to deal with a demonstrably dirty cop who can make their lives miserable, or just standing there, awkwardly staring at the ground, avoiding eye-contact, hoping the encounter ends quickly without too much violence. Guess which one they -usually- ALWAYS go with? 😒 After seeing over a THOUSAND videos on these dirty-cop channels (in just he past few months), I've seen literally just a SINGLE, SOLITARY video where a cop actually stood up to the dirty cop, and even that wasn't actually her standing up to the dirty cop directly. It's the one where the white cop rolled up hot and arrested the first two black people he saw. When they asked for his card, the cop said they don't have them, then the black cop gave him a very dirty look and said they DO have cards and gave hers. It's not confirmed, but it seems she might have filed a complaint against him later on back at the station.
Based on the officers' behavior, I am betting there is a culture of disrespect and retaliation at the police station. Poor leadership and training tends to roll downhill, causing people not in charge to behave submisively even if it not normally their nature.
Detectives are a cut above in a police department. They're special. They earned their specialness. I guess that gives them the special privilege of lording it over the lowly beat cops.
Firefighters are so underrated, they are the true heroes. They don't care if you are poor, what your race is, what your gender is. They jump in and do their job. They see people lose everything, see the most horrific accidents and yet they don't use that as an excuse to be a AH. From 2013 to 2016 I traveled the Pacific Northwest for work, several times I found animals in a dangerous situation, I would always call non emergency dispatch and ask for the fire department, each time they sent firefighters that jumped right in and without question saved the day. Once I said, to a firefighter, I know this might seem silly to call for a duck caught in a storm drain, the firefighter replied " helping the public in any situation where we can help is our job, plus we like happy ending as much as you do.
Maybe this guy. But I just got evicted from my apartment in fall river from two fire first responders. And I payed my rent. Their names are norman rego, retired, and an active deputy chief Scott flanerty. Slumlords.
"what your gender is" this isn't always true. Here in Ottawa there was a whole thing not that long ago about a gender non-conforming firefighter who was hired but then was constantly being called homophobic slurs and then later physically assaulted by their boss at the station. There are shitty people in all professions. That being said, my dad is a paramedic, so I personally have a deep respect for any first responders that actually are good people and go out to save lives.
@@ChosenOne41 how horrible and unfortunate, and undoubtedly your statement of " bad people in all professions" is true. I have been very lucky I assume in my dealings with Firefighters. Not so in my dealings with police, so my opinion is bias of course lol.

With that, I think the cop had reasonable cause to detain him due to his aggressive behavior and knowing the victim was lying in a pool of blood on the ground.
What bothers me is that if a citizen goes to jail the court moves rather swiftly but try to send a cop to jail it takes YEARS
I dunno about that. Anyone who can post bail will be right out from jail, and it takes years for the trial process before any individual is imprisoned. And that's prison, not jail, that I believe you mean. Because after an initial arrest and bail hearing, just getting an indictment or conviction can be several appointments in the court, each a different step in the process, and each having several months between steps.
@@bolt8148 I think it depends on where you live, and no not everyone can just post bail. Even if you have one, you either have to have the means, or family that would be willing to put it up for you. Other than that, you're screwed. Where I live, these crooked ass politicians always look out for each other. We have several cases of ex detectives and officers getting charged with evidence tampering, and get off with slaps on the wrist. We even have a case where a detective was selling the weed that was confiscated from criminals, but was only given a sentence of probation. Shoot now and question later situations by cops are almost always justifiable homicide, so yeah, the cops are in a club that the public is not in. And at the end of the day, they look out for each other rather than the public; even though it's the publics taxes that pay their salaries.
Nah, they'll drag ass to get you a court date THEN they'll swiftly prosecute as to not actually waste their own time in the courtroom. They even make you pay court fees whereas they won't pay you a dime when you're found innocent of a crime after being kept in jail for as long as months or even years (yes the legal system is a joke).

In my state, scene ownership is transferred only when the city jurisdiction is completed. Therefore, I had ownership of the scene until I was satisfied that our department was complete and no longer needed. My arrest was vacated and dismissed at arraingment!!! The patrolman was given notice that his behavior was unwarranted and should change his attitude.
I saw that the video of CHP arrested a fireman because he was blocking a scene of the accident. Was that you Sir. Thank you for your service

Especially if cops are involved. My neighbor was hit by a cop in his patrol car and critically injured. 100% the cop's fault. The cops on the scene refused to allow the ambulance to get near the accident and wouldn't let the EMTs tend to my neighbor. They don’t exist
😒 After seeing over a THOUSAND videos on these dirty-cop channels (in just he past few months),
I've seen literally just a SINGLE, SOLITARY video where a cop actually stood up to the dirty cop, and even that wasn't actually her standing up to the dirty cop directly.
That was said by the interviewing officer at the arrival of the shitface dicktective.
The detective has a BIG EGO problem and he needs to be fired.
That'll never happen. He could've shot the firefighter in the face and he would've gotten off.
Hea already been promoted.
He’s severely overweight, has a massive temper, and lives in CA…he won’t last too much longer. Those 3 factors are a bad combination.
Better still a gun gets fired at him.
Slumlords.
Firefighters run into burning buildings to save people. Police will shoot your dog because it “Could” be dangerous. They couldn’t be more different.
@@johnpappas5413 that's just capitalism. If you don't like it, you can go to China \s/
It’s amazingly clear to me after watching a lot of these videos how remaining calm, even in the face of stressful or confrontational situations, makes things so much easier.
