Hey Everyone! ::PLEASE NOTE:: The "BUG" that I call out at the end of this video... that is NOT a bug. This is correct behavior! I have made a new video explaining the behavior and how to get external tanks fueled while the Jet is running. Please watch it here - ua-cam.com/video/DZ_TqwsPSUQ/v-deo.html
Another great video with great explanations and information. I don't think people know how time consuming making these videos can be. Really appreciate you making them.
JFS-Doors are a bit slow to open from what I remember from AM/BM-starts, and I'm hoping that they also add the belch of smoke the JFS tends to kick out when it shuts off. Nice to see the addition, though, and I hope that it's added at some point.
14:16 You can remove your 'empty' fuel tanks when rearming and then add them back with a new 'full' fuel tanks, you dont have to dump them before landing.
Yep. But takes more time. Especially if you're in a hurry just dump them on final approach and then just arm up with freshly fueled ones. Otherwise you have to wait for two refuel rearms.
Nice. I like the "Dope Cam". Is that new? If you squint you can imagine you're really talkin to us from the 'pit. Imagine if we had hand tracking (that worked).
Seems lit the JFS doors should have waited and been worked on more before release. Instead would be nice to see improvements on being able to external tanks on the Viper on the ground, not sure if that is an issue for other aircraft as well. (Viper primary and Hog secondary)
Maybe you covered this and I missed it, but will my existing F-16C module update to the latest version or do I need to go and manually update? When I start DCS I see the message window saying "checking for updates" but I don't know if that's just for the game only or all modules installed. Liked and subbed.
If you update DCS, it updates everything, including the modules (The F-16 or any other aircraft you've purchased). However, if you want to get this update, you MUST be on the "Open Beta" version of DCS.
How do you do that "dope cam"? You record it twice and sync up probably, right? Also, you inspired me to put my call sign on the UFC of my favorite cockpit.
It requires a second PC unfortunately. I found that replaying recorded sessions doesn't track head movement on the external pilot model. The only way to get head movement to match live head tracking is to have a live session watching it. So I have to log into a server from two separate PC's. One being the client I use to fly with and the other to spectate live.
@@BogeyDope Wow, oké. That's sounds a bit more involved than I hoped for, Ha ha..! Atleast I could try to do it for quick cuts or non- headtracked movement.
Well.... grain of salt. Crew Chiefs are jacks of all trades, masters of none. And I've been out of the game for 14 years. For Example. In this video, I called the hot pit fueling a bug. When in reality, it is not a bug, I just forgot that I need the AAR door open in order for it to fuel the external tanks.... Corrective Tutorial Video Incoming.
About the refuel the ext tanks, its not a bug you must open the refuel door +2 minutes (in DCS you don't need to wait) prior to refuel so the tanks can depressurize.
Actually the external fuel tanks refuel "bug" is not a bug according to ED... they say it needs to be removed in order to be filled, so current behavior is correct as is, therefore do not really expect it to be changed ...
So just so you know. Though I worked on these things.... and I've done countless hot pit refuels.... I forgot that you have to have the AAR door open during a hot pit refuel for the externals to be refueled. It's been 14 years since my last hot pit...forgot about that. So, I've got a corrective tutorial video incoming. Not sure about the Hornet, as I never worked them so I don't know if the same will work for it. But if so, try putting the AAR arm out before hot pitting with externals.
If you take and open the Aerial Refueling door while on the ground it will refuel your external drop tanks, Sadly it works on a % bases, So depending how low on fuel you are in the main tanks May effect how much fuel is put into the drop tanks. Example, the emptier you are in the main tanks, the more it will refuel the drop tanks.
@@BogeyDope It has worked for me in the past. I think if i have around 3000 in the main tank, it will completely refuel the drop tanks, May have to have the aerial refueling door open first before requesting fuel.
@@BogeyDope this does work, the fuel total needs to be under I believe 4000 lbs and the door needs to be open for like 5 minutes for the tanks to pressurise, this should refuel the tanks without having to remove them. Apparently this is not a bug but correct behaviour, I was told this by a crew chief a while back.

Dope how do you get your call sign on the ufd? Thunbs up 👍
I had to find the texture file. I can't remember the file name / location at the moment though.
@@BogeyDope Thanks for the reply
I was going to ask the same question...I would love to have that as well
@@BogeyDope I'm interested in this as well. No pressure but would be cool when you could share some info how to implement the Name.

Are you able to turn off cockpit reflections in settings? It doesn't work for me in stable.
It kinda seems like they fixed the low speed yaw instability on landing, even though I don't believe it was mentioned in the patch notes.
The real question is, how did you get BOGEY DOPE on your ICP frame (lol), thanks for the video. I love it!

@BOGEY DOPE Can you make a video about using Chaff & Flares under 60 seconds! 😊
Yeah the JFS door timing is a bit off for both opening and closing. As a b man for many many goes I can say that for sure.

How did you get that gun sound? Which mod is that?
I'm using the Echo19 sound mod
@@BogeyDope I’ll try it out, thanks again
Implement the JFS doors but still manage to screw the timing. ED's work is amazing sometimes ;-)
Try opening the ar door to top off the tanks. Works for me. Do that good ol' hotpit
Havent tested it on the actual jet but it makes sense as the tanks are still pressurized with the door closed
