- Everton FC beat Leeds United FC 3-2 in this League Division One match played at Goodison Park on the 30th August 1969. Everton Scorers: Joe Royle (2) and Jimmy Husband. Leeds United Scorers: Billy Bremner and Allan Clarke. Everton FC finished season 1969 - 1970 as champions (seventh time in their history) whilst Leeds United FC finished 2nd in the Football League Division One.
