Man City Fans 2012: Greatest ever season finish.
Arsenal 1989: Hold my beer.
@Zetro Man City- a plastic club who are only where they are because a human rights abusing country bought them. That much money=buying trophies. Zilch to admire.
@Zetro Plastic club with little success for over 100 years. Bought by a despicable regime with an appalling human rights record and no democracy...but hey, they buy you trophies so you are happy. New competition? You'll only be there until the next billionaire comes in and decides to buy it too. All about the money, nothing to do with the club- wasn't that long ago City were in the 2nd division- big club lololol. Arsenal haven't been there since 1913 and haven't bought success.
@Zetro Ah bless.
@Zetro You literally make a financial contribution to that regime every time you go yo the Eitihad. How does that sit with you morally?
@Equinox glad you find it funny
i was there and i can say now, after 28 years that it is the greatest moment in english football history
Dimitris Chatziioannou wens movie coming out ?
Jasonthewaffle Wasn't born either and not an Arsenal fan but this is the best moment in english football to date.
Agreed
Mr Dark Night rises have to understand that beating liverpool at anfield in that time was impossible let alone winning 2 goals to nil
Easily.
30 years ago today. The greatest league finish of all time.
One of the greatest sporting moments ever and yes I am very biased
Remember watching this as a 10 year old and yes still the greatest end to a season for me, even though I don't support either team.
Scenes in the away end.
I lived in Phuket town. No foreigners about, small restaurant black and white TV! Local Thais fancied Liverpool. What a night! I drove back home in tears of joy! GOYG! * George Graham, you are still a hero in my eyes! You built the foundations of 'The Invincible's !!
I'm from Brazil and I was a teenager living in London at this time. I was a Gunners supporter and this match was simply EPIC! !
Look at how our fans reacted to that first goal!!!..it still sends shivers down my spine.. 18 years between championships.. looks like we will have to wait that long again
@ 0:47 the most famous quote of the old 1st divsion
StFidjnr 0:59
Brings back memories. I worked as a security guard in south africa in 89. Was my weekend off. The public broadcaster showed the game LIVE. i went bonkers. Never forget. I'm a united fan. Lol
If anyone thinks agueros winner for Man City to pip Man Utd a few years back is better than this, I would argue that this was 1st vs 2nd in title deciding match - therefore this trumps even that moment.
Aguero winner would be equal had City been playing United and they were 1st and 2nd. They were playing QPR who were all but relegated. Aguero goal doesn't even scratch the surface of this. Aguero goal was exciting. it's no Thomas up for grabs now.
QPR weren't relegated do your research
Who cares about a plastic team. City and chelsea are both 100% plastic - nothing more
@@fireguy7487 don’t be facetious mate, they where nearly relegated….the only reason they didn’t go down is because Bolton drew their last game when they had to win.
Perhaps if Bolton had won their last game the outcome at Etihad may have been a lot different because QPR would have known losing that game meant they where down, so therefore they would have tried a lot harder to hold their lead rather than just go through the motions in added time.
That pass by smith doesn't get enough credit
One of the greatest games of all time.
at Anfield, against Liverpool who are the champions when the match started, need 2 goals, this is the single greatest last day decider.
0:16 The lone Arsenal fan cracks me up😂
Very brave....😮
Dad was there that night , sounds like it was amazing
harry davies .
Had Thomas delayed another half a second longer to set up his shot the defender from behind him would've tackled him. That's how close it was.
Greatest game I ever went to
My old Dad was so happy :)
Rory Curtis I hope he still a live
The Greatest None Everton Goal Ever💙😜
The mental on that goal must of been unreal
"It's up for grabs now!" is basically "Agueroooooo!" of 1989.
No offence also but yeah …….. not even close mate.
This day must of been crazy!
Absolute scenes
The day I became a Gunner
Incredible that to this day people say Smith never touched the ball,he clearly did.
To win the league on Goals scored Amazing stuff
Only took 34 years to watch again lol
Still getting goosebumps in 2024 😆😆😆😆😆
This was worse than losing to wimbledon the previous season! John Barnes and his cutting in and losing possession.....oh well.
One of the greatest sporting moments ever and yes I am very biased
I follow neither team but really I'd back you up, it is universally one of the greatest sporting moments ever. The absolute finest of margins, absolutely everything on the line and then Thomas took his chance.
@@Havencheese and to cap it all off, that summer he signed for Liverpool 🤣
@@woodywoodpecker1984 he signed for Liverpool two and a half years later mate.
Incredible
0:20 Copper bottom right running after Arsenal fan, something out of a comedy film...
Hahaha
Reviewing big Arsenal wins at anfield before the big game on Saturday.
I can't believe that was over 30 years ago
This is the greatest title race of all time till it was surpassed by Aguero goal to clinch the title for Man City in 2012 to deny United
This is better than that. This would be equivalent to City going to Old Trafford on the final day needing to beat United by two goals and scoring them both right at the death. The chances of seeing something similar to Agueros goal are pretty low, but I don’t see something similar to Arsenals win at Anfield ever being replicated, especially in this fashion.
@@reedfry3080 u got a good point there young fella. Couldn't disagree. But the Aguero goal is probably the most iconic I've seen in all sports. It's one of those moments where u were when 9/11 happened. I well remember the Aguero goal cuz it was the first time I had sex with my first wife while watching the game on tv. That's why I remember it very well
@@danx3504 Lol fair enough
greatest moment
Y is this popping up on my time line...I wasnt even born
Better than Aguero.
What a crazy night
Fast forward⏩⏩⏩2020 we are the Champions of England.YNWA
Yeah mate and Liverpool lost 0-3 against a team that got relegated and then they lost 0-5 against Man City…..oh and they also lost against a poor Arsenal team.
19 May 2024... it will be handed over to Odegaard at The Emirates... 🏆 ⚽️
Epic....
Liverpool got what they deserved
Wrong tactics wrong mentality. Liverpool went out to get beat. Arsenal went out to win. That's how I feel.It was a hard watch. That's how it is.
Best limbs of all time, bar none
how does that happen ?
They should bring back standing
Brian moore 😊😂i of the best 👌 .😊
JOHN RUN TO THE CORNER FLAG !!!!!!!!!
@COYG @become the Winner FA Cup 2014-2015
They claiming Smith didn't get a touch?.
As much as I hate Arsenal I despise Liverpool. Perfect result! COYI
after 89
Imagine if they had var for the first goal
The best title decider in history
1 minuet 1 minuet
John motson shud have comentated on this
I was a big fan of Motty, but ITV had the TV rights as BBC had a link up with the then-upstart BSkyB to do FA Cup and Internationals. 12 million people stayed in and watched this on a Friday night before going to the pub.
Wtf was that Thomas celebration 😂😂
why , in case of winning by one goal...arsenal would not win the title????
Pablo Tupone yep, before the match Liverpool was 3 points ahead and arsenal needed at least to win by 2 to tie the goals difference and then get to the top on goals for
winning by two goals meant they had the same goal difference but Arsenal had actually scored more goals. You can see the final table at 2:17 here
It's kind of shocking that the goal difference for both teams was only +7. There were an awful lot of 1-1 draws and 1-0 wins back then as teams would do so much time-wasting (backpasses etc). That's kind of why hardly anyone expected Arsenal to actually win by two or more. Liverpool were really good at keeping scorelines down back then. When it was 1-0, me and my mates fully expected Liverpool to keep it that way. It was actually shocking when Thomas suddenly burst through up the middle, as the game was getting quite boring at that point.
ha ha ha ha ha. I remember it well. Horrible red sh#te.
Typical scousers trying to get what they want 😂😂
Shut up
Theee jammiest title win in existence. But Karma comes back around.
Liverpool at Anfield 2023 started Arsenals title collapse. ❤️🔄
The current Arsenal crop needs to remember the 1989 crop and repeat this at the Etihad
😂😂not really. We have to go to Etihad and get 3 points
Cry more
Aguerooooo is not even close compared to this….
